Check in Saturday at 7pm was smooth. There was no line. I had originally booked two queens because I thought two more people were coming. They had to cancel because of health reasons so they changed us to a king room with no up charge. The hotel and room where clean. There is Dove shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which was nice. Breakfast was standard fare. One thing I will say is that breakfast is busy. I mean people waiting for it to open busy. Maybe everyone was like us and the time change made them wake early. This hotel is very walkable to the tourist areas.
Stayed here for 4 nights with family. Very well located for pier 39, Alcatraz trips, both cable car turnarounds, restaurants and bike rentals. The staff were polite and professional and the rooms were services daily to a high standard. Breakfast was good with enough choice to satisfy everyone. If I was to visit again I’d definitely stay here again without hesitation
+ Breakfast was great, but no bacon over four mornings. Location to Fisherman's Wharf was also good. - We were charged a "Wharf District Amenity Fee" of $20.37 for EACH day of our stay! When we asked for a refund, we were refused. This is not a city tax; it is a hidden fee that was not disclosed when we paid for the room in advance, or when we checked in. Additionally, the elevator is extremely slow; we took the staff elevator when we moved our luggage the last day and took the stairs all the rest of the time.
I can’t praise ALL of the staff enough! They were lovely, very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was very tidy and cleaned to an exceptionally high standard every day. Only downside was the breakfast, but that’s more a personal preference and plenty of people seemed to enjoy it. I would definitely stay here again, the location is great and close to local amenities and public transport Well done everyone, made my stay very enjoyable ☺️
This hotel is situated perfectly for a San Francisco visit. It was an easy 5-6 minute walk to Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf and Ghirardelli Marketplace. It was about 5 minutes from the Powell St-Market St trolley and a few minutes beyond that to a convenient bus stop for the #28 bus that took us to the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center. The free breakfast was top-notch and the bed was SO comfortable! We utilized the complementary concierge service a few times and they expertly plotted our best routes for public transit, recommended restaurants, etc. We also paid the extra fee for the attached parking garage and valet service…parking in San Francisco is a nightmare and it was such a relief to know that our rental car was safe and secure.
We parked our car outside hotel during check in process. I left my laptop bag on front passenger side floor. While I was parking, hotel vallet told us that it was ok park there. During checking the hotel front desk did not warn us anything about the car break-ins being common. We went upstairs to keep luggage upstairs and came downstairs and somebody had smashed window and took my laptop bag. During parking to checkin process, we were not once warned about the break-ins common in SF. There were no signs at front desk or in parking warning customers about the break-ins. After the break-in the hotel front desk did not show any empathy. They just shrugged it off as a common occurrence in SF. They did not seem to care that their customer got robbed right in front of the hotel. Hotel front desk seemed in different and did not care. This was all very new to me especially coming from Texas. …
Stayed here 2 nights. Room was spacious and clean. The elevators are as slow as molasses. Check-in and out was super easy. The staff were all really friendly. Breakfast was extremely busy both days. Regular fare: scrambled eggs, sausage patties, links, pancake maker and all the continental things. Not great but better than nothing. Location is very central. We used a few different MUNI buses and caught a cable car within a few blocks of the hotel.
We had a wonderful stay here. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because one of the elevators was not working properly. It did not want to go to the 4th floor - and that's where we were staying. But the room was terrific, the buffet breakfast was fantastic, and I loved that they always had coffee, hot tea, and water available in the lobby. We even had maid service daily - and that's not easy to find since Covid hit!. I really recommend this hotel. Very good pricing, too! Situated within walking distance to the Wharf and Pier 39.
Great location and nice hotel, but they seem to have maintenance problems. We were here for 5 days and the elevators were messed up the whole time. Most of the time we had to use a freight elevator and sometimes even this didn’t work. We had to walk upstairs to the 4th floor. The toilet in our room ran constantly.
Stayed 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend, visiting SF as family of 5 from UK. We'd booked one of the family rooms that had 2x queen size beds & a full size/double sofa bed- this suited us perfectly. The room was large, clean, & the beds comfortable. We were allocated a room on the top (4th) floor. The hotel provides a free breakfast offering a good selection, that set us up nicely for the morning. The hotel is located only a few minutes walk from the Wharf & Pier 33 (Alcatraz cruises), & is also very close to a bus stop for a journey up to Union Square. Overall very happy with my stay there & would certainly stay there again.
