This Queen Anne Victorian structure was erected in 1905 as the opulent Sultan Turkish Baths. Two decades later the Baths closed, and the entire building was remodeled into a European style boutique hotel. Intimate guestrooms feature lovely floral motifs, unique architectural features, and fresh flowers. While the hotel is properly rated at 3.5 stars, the front desk service is exemplary. I specifically call out Sarah who found some property that I had left in my room and immediately called me to return the property. Most hotels wont call. They wait for guests to call while placing the items in lost and found. I call out this differentiated proactive service. When you have a choice to makem and the andrews is among the choices, choose it without hesitation and ask for Sarah. Also, make a reservation to eat in the attached Italian resturant, superb!

This is a really nice, cosy hotel with friendly staff in a great location. They provide a continental breakfast on each floor every morning which was a really nice touch - especially during covid when you might not want to have breakfast around other people.

The hotel is only 2 blocks from Union Square, and about 4 from the Powel Street Cable Car / Market Street. The Italian restaurant attached to the hotel is also lovely, great food and really friendly staff!

Me and my girlfriend stayed in this hotel for a week in October.
We landed at the airport and I booked an Uber to the hotel $35. We arrived at the hotel at 2 in the afternoon, there was a lady working at the reception that was a bit arsy with us, your room isn’t ready, and going on as it was a big problem, I’ve just been travelling for the last 20hrs, we just arrived at the hotel as that was the time the plane gets in, anyway we left our bags and went for a walk, then came back when the room was ready.
Apart from that, the hotel was fine, great location, we had a suite room we really liked the room, a nice big comfortable bed, a room with a few chairs and tables then a bath and a shower room. The bed and towels were made every day.
The hotel is dated, but it was comfy and we liked it.
Every morning at 7 there are croissants, pastries tea, coffee and fresh orange put out on every level in the hotel, this was really good and we enjoyed having this before we left the hotel for the day.
In the reception there was always cold water, tea and coffee.
There’s a corner shop right next to the hotel, this was good for picking up a few bits and pieces, bottles of water etc. Opposite the hotel there was a pub called the Owl Tree, this was really handy to finish off the night with, calling in here for a beer and a cocktail.
Hotel is right next to Union Square, from here you can get the cable car to the Fisherman’s Wharf, and it’s easy to walk to China Town, we often walked to the Fisherman’s Wharf, it would take about an hour, but were taking our time looking at things on the way.
Post street can be noisy, all night long people shouting cars beeping horns, emergency services sounding horns, we didn’t mind this, but can see people having a problem with the noise.
All in all the hotel was fine, shame about our first impression with the receptionist.
I would stay here again.

I recently stayed at Andrew's Hotel in San Francisco, and I have to say it was beyond disappointing.

The main issue was the size of the bathroom—it was incredibly small. I had a hard time moving around in such a cramped space, making it uncomfortable to shower and get ready each day. As a frequent traveler, I understand that room sizes can vary, but the bathroom at Andrew's Hotel was beyond what I would consider acceptable. It was a significant inconvenience and detracted from the overall enjoyment of my stay.

I noticed a vile odour (only what can be described as a butcher shop!) , that seemed to linger throughout the hallways and into my room. It was quite unpleasant and made my entire stay uncomfortable. I had hoped it was a one-off issue, but the smell persisted during my entire visit, even with the windows open.

Additionally, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. The bathroom had noticeable grime and mildew in the corners, and the shower curtain looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The carpets in the room appeared stained, and the bedding didn't feel fresh. This level of cleanliness is unacceptable for a hotel.

Given the central location and positive reviews, I had expected a much higher standard from Andrew's Hotel. However, the combination of the unpleasant smell and the poor cleanliness made my stay disappointing. I hope the hotel management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve their cleaning protocols and address the odor issues.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Andrew's Hotel to other travelers. I suggest finding alternative accommodations that offer a cleaner and more pleasant environment.

Stayed here for a single night before flying back home and had a positive experience.
The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, check-in and -out were fast and easy, luggage was stored upon check-out until we had to leave for the airport.
The location is good, nearby public transportation, plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
The hotel is located in a historic building but in good shape, everything was nice and clean. Our room was comfortable and had a good size for a hotel in central SFO. The bed was big and comfortable only the bathroom was a little narrow.
The only minus is caused by the old building structure: noise isolation especially from the outside is not too good. You hear people talking in the street with closed windows.
Nonetheless we had some good sleep and a comfortable stay here.

This was a gem of a hotel but it has faded.I first stayed at this charming hotel back around 1977 & over the years perhaps 8 more times because I just loved the location, charm & welcome I received from the staff. My last visit was I think around 1998 & all was perfect. I found myself back in SFO this past week & of course had to book my old standby. The basic hotel is the same, lobby looks the same as did my king corner room, even the pictures on the wall were the same. What has changed is the welcome & charm. The man at the check in desk hardly said a word to me, no welcome,no charm & not even a smile on his face . They used to serve a great small continental breakfast on each floor, juice, coffee, tea & a basket filled with wonderful donuts, pastries & croissants. The juice is no longer & the basket only had a few dry muffins & tasteless croissants & I had to go to another floor to find these. The room itself is fine, a little small but that was always the case. I was going to comment to whoever was on duty at checkout about the shortcomings of my visit but when I went down to check out I was face to face with an equally sullen oriental woman who hardly spoke English. When I stayed here before I am sure it was owned by the same family that had run it for years but now ???
The restaurant that is attached is still very good, I had dinner there & the food was wonderful. I am sorry Andrews Hotel but no longer shall I visit.

I enjoyed my solo stay at the small, historic Andrews Hotel. Good location near Union Square, with many restaurants nearby. The excellent Italian Fino Restaurant is located in the building. Friendly staff at check-in, small lobby that could use a bit refreshing. My corner room was on the 7th floor, king bed, two windows, nice view of Nob Hill buildings. Bed was very comfortable, with fresh white bedding. Bathroom with shower was very small, but offered all amenities. All was very clean. The hotel offered wine for a nice Happy Hour, with guests gathered in the lobby. The continental breakfast of excellent strong coffee, tea and French pastries was served conveniently on each floor. I felt very comfortable there as a single traveler and will definitely return for another visit.

I stayed for 4 nights at this hotel in the summer of 2022 as I used it as a base to explore San Francisco. The location is great in fact it is located in downtown San Francisco within walking distance of Union Square. The hotel itself has a slightly retro style, everything is adapted accordingly; from the lift to the rooms. The latter are really small, bordering on usable. Plus they don't convey a sense of cleanliness. In two people with two suitcases it makes it difficult to move. The breakfast in the morning is really poor, even here at the limit of the presentable. I believe there are much nicer hotels in SF.

Very decent, pleasant hotel in downtown, with a really interesting historical character. All clean, efficient, working. Old building, and they are proud of it, great. Room was rather small, but good for 2 people. All fine, nice bed, good bathroom, heating worked exceedingly well. Got good nights of sleep. Amazing: at 5 p.m., they offer a free glass of wine; and the breakfast served right outside of our room (4th floor) was not bad at all (muffins etc., oj, coffee). There is a restaurant downstairs, prices seem to be decent, but I did not eat there. Best of all, I got in early, ca. 11 a.m., and I could move into my room already then. Hotel is ca. 12 min. from the Powell station.

For the love of historic buildings you have to stay here! The staff were friendly, the bed and pillows were comfortable and the room was lovely. Of all the hotels, this was by far my favorite and I will certainly be returning for more visits. Most hotels don’t have the option of fresh air so being able to open the window was so nice. The hotel offers nice breakfast in the morning with excellent coffee and delicious pastries. In the morning, taking my coffee to the lobby and reading the newspaper while waiting for my ride share was one of my favorite moments. Ending the evening with dinner at Fino was a meal I will never forget. An incredible chef crafted menu that includes freshly homemade pasta was exciting enough but the then I ordered from the dessert menu. Overall I give this hotel five stars because kind staff alone can make your stay great but this checked all the boxes.

why te daily deposito ?
Answer from Lori Y

I travel a lot with work and have gotten used to the daily deposit process at the hotels I stay at. I agree it is a pain as the hold is not taken off for 4 or 5 business days, it just seems to be a pretty common practice. I do make a point of checking my credit card online each night to ensure it is the amount they stated, not more etc. and to make sure it comes off.

The elevator is kind of small, so it is better to check out the door clearance comparing to the mobility scooter in question.
