Black families and black travelers, in general, do not stay at this Staybridge Suites location. Unless you would like to deal with implicit racism and microaggressions, spend your money elsewhere. Upon checking in at 11:30 pm after an almost 5-hour traffic-filled drive from New York on a Friday before Labor Day, I was met with the rudest and most inept hotel staff imaginable. To avoid any discrepancies and ease the check-in process, I immediately presented the woman working at the front desk with my driver's license and credit card. She then informed me that I only paid for one night and would need to pay for the other two nights of the reservation. I told her that I already paid for the total cost of the entire stay, and the only thing that she needs to charge my card with is the deposit. Her response was for me to "prove it." Annoyed at her response, I found the email on my phone and showed it to her, which indicated my payment in full from more than a month prior, and her response was "oh." No apology. She then looked my sons (5y and 14y) accusatorily while informing us that it was a room with a king bed. Despite the fact that the website states that the room sleeps four with a pull out couch and we stayed at the same location last summer without any issues. This treatment was only directed to us, a black family, as the other guests (who just so happened to be white) that were checked in were treated with respect and a friendly disposition.

Pros - Fully equipped kitchenette (see photos) - Huge HD TV - Multiple trash bins inside room (w/ plenty of bags) - Blackout and regular window blinds - Excellent continental breakfast spread - Great fitness center - North Quincy T (subway station) one block away Cons - Limited parking space (need to park across the street if full house) - Bitter coffee (however free and available around the clock in the lobby) What a beautiful, clean facility! I was surprised this hotel is a part of the Holiday Inn universe, since the facility and our 3-night experience rivaled those of “higher value” brands. There’s a lot to enjoy visually: the walls are beautifully textured, giving off a sophisticated appearance, and I especially enjoyed the back lighting of the huge mirror in our bathroom. The hallway of our floor was nicely lit and better designed than most high-end apartment complexes. My favorite part of our room was the kitchenette. I was not expecting a huge double door fridge with two freezer shelves. Check out my photos to see how the kitchen exceeded my expectations: there were steak knives, a measuring cup, four types of drinking vessels, a dishwashing machine, even a baby sized Dawn dish soap bottle with sponge (not pictured) for our hand washing needs. They provided a packet of dishwashing pebbles for the machine. I would say the rooms are a hybrid of your standard hotel room and apartment suite. What makes it not quite an apartment suite is the sleeping and sitting area; there aren’t enough chairs for a family of four to properly sit down for a meal, and you’ll need to request a mattress for the pullout sofa to accommodate beyond the king bed. The mattress is queen sized and fairly comfy as far as pullout mattresses go (not as nice as the king bed though), but its addition did make the bedroom, which is standard hotel sized, rather cramped. Make sure you get up for the continental breakfast! Omelettes, bacon, thick sausages, oatmeal with an array of toppings, yogurt, cereal, milk, jams and syrups, fruits, biscuits/bagels/breads, and prepared breakfast sandwiches to go. The only complaint I had concerned the quality of the coffee but in light of all the other hits, it was a very minor speck on my otherwise terrific experience. I’ll definitely keep this Staybridge in mind for the next time my family and I are in the Boston-Cambridge area.

This is a beautiful property, but part of hospitality is being hospitable and meeting guest needs. Their front desk agent, a female I really wish I got her name when I called, to expose her lack of professionalism, another agent named (Osakana) might even be the same person I dealt with both times, is extremely rude and if you don't like your job, go work somewhere else!! Their management Gael Shungu, also doesn't care that their staff is rude and taking care of the guest when the hotel drops the ball is not in their policies. I am disgusted to say the least, and will be telling everyone I know about the lack of respect and professionalism this property has shown, I don't care how nice it is. You should really be ashamed.

This is our second time staying - last was in the summer after it opened. This time we stayed in a Suite and it did not disappoint. Beautifully decorated, looks more like a European boutique hotel than a Holiday Inn, with a complete kitchen including a dishwasher and large flat screen TV. We brought two small dogs and had no isses with anyone - in fact they have a water bowl in the lobby. The breakfast is excellent - eggs and bacon as well as their famous cinnamon rolls, fruit and waffles. The only issue is the parking - if you come late, you might have to park on the street. Not sure if people other than the hotel guests are using the lot as there is no way to know who is parked there. We visit because my aunt lives across the street and are already planning to come back soon.

Enjoyed a 4 night stay here which was a good base for our first visit to Boston area. It was a very good choice, rooms were lovely and new. Appreciated the free use of laundry facilities, as our stay was part of a much longer trip. Breakfast was ok, but quite adequate.overall the hotel was very good for price and much more affordable than staying in the city. Despite having a rental car, we chose to use the nearby subway to travel into Boston to avoid parking woes. The station was nearby, and this was very convenient. Suggest the hotel proactively provide info about the subway and how to get around, as it is a good selling point - it took us awhile to work it out ourselves, but well worth it. Also the hotel had no city or rail/subway maps which would have been helpful to us as internationals, and first-timers to Boston. Also no info on recommendations for local restaurants/where to eat.
