Located in a strategic location with helpful front desk staff and late check-out time (12 noon). However the rooms we stayed were run down with rusty bathtubs, damaged taps and cracks on the toilet walls.

Air-conditioning units in the rooms produced weird noises when the temperature was turned up. No air-conditioning along corridors, no wireless internet facility nor breakfast which was frustrating and ended up having Subway on the first morning in Guam having checked in at 1:30am. Fortunately, the stay was only a brief one.

The Pacific Bay Hotel is right in the middle of the shopping district on Guam. As such it's
marketed as an affordable alternative to Hilton, Marriott, and Westin, which it is. As an older hotel, entirely constructed of concrete, it is solid. It offers VERY basic accommodations, and the staff really works hard to keep the place very clean. The hotel lacks amenities such as nice toiletries, free internet, washcloths, and there is no decent breakfast within a mile! But it is basic lodging for those who want to save their money for shopping. The highlight is the restaurant CHURRASCO located in the ground level, which is one of the BEST dining spots
on Guam. Bottom line - location, location, location. Staff tried SO hard to make my stay pleasant.

Top two reasons to visit Guam: beach and shopping. If you want to save more money for shopping, then this hotel is definitely for you.

The location is excellent. If you like to walk a lot, you can walk the whole stretch of San Vitores Road (the high-end shopping centres & five-star hotels are here like DFS, Tumon Sands Plaza etc). You will see a lot of Japanese tourists in this area.
If you want to enjoy the beach, you can also head to Tumon Beach just at the back of Holiday Resort Guam/ Fiesta Hotel.

Room experience is average. If you just need a place to sleep-in and you'll be out all day, its not bad. But if you're looking for a room to chill and relax... it will definitely not give you the resort-feeling.

You won't have any problem with finding places to eat as there are a couple of restaurants nearby. I especially liked Churassco located at the ground floor of the hotel. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet Brazilian style... so if you're a lover of meat, you'll love Churassco.

However, if you are going to shop in Guam Premium Outlets (GPO) or Ross or Micronesia Mall (where Macy's is), then you will need transport to go there from the hotel. Cabs are quite expensive and difficult to get in Guam, so I suggest you ride the tourist bus/hop on hop off buses that takes you to several locations already. You have the option to choose different passes (1 day/ 3days etc.) according to your duration of stay. You may inquire from the hotel lobby about this.

Our stay was quite pleasant. The hotel is ideally located at the heart of Guam's tourist haven, Tumon Bay, with everything within walking distance to the restaurants, bars, SandCastle, Pleasure Island, DFS, ABC stores and the beach, which is around 5 minutes walk across the hotel. The Bus Stop is just outside the hotel. Spacious lobby...Two very good restaurants in the hotel, the VIP Chinese Restaurant & the Churrasco Brazilian BBQ Restaurant, and also the car rental company. Our room comes with 2 queen beds, Cable TV, wardrobe & mini fridge. Clean bathroom with bathtub. Hot & Cold Shower. WIFI was good...... Friendly and Accommodating staff. Around 10 mins to the airport. Highly recommended for travelers seeking a great value accommodation in Guam due to its location.

This place is terrible, stay away!

The carpets were torn apart and had stains. The walls had holes and the wall paper torn. The room smelt like mildew. The bath tubs were dirty, old and cracked. The bathroom tile was cracked, dirty, etc. The beds were so so, until bed bugs started biting. The AC was noisy, but worked great!

The staff was nice and did their best to resolve issues such as room change, but the rooms were all the same. Every room I saw (total of 10) were in similiar conditions (except the bed bug and the hole in the wall).

A letter was written to the management staff of our dissatisfaction, etc and to contact me back, but I have yet to hear from them.

Just stay away, its a dump. You can find better places to stay cheaper in Tumon area.

Completely disagree with the 'okay' reviews and pictures shown for this hotel. I asked for wake up calls each day, and never got a the call; when I checked in, there was no where to park in their lot and told ;;just drive around and around until someone pulls out and grab that spot; there was no hairdryer and told to leave a deposit for one; for all five days that I was there, the bathroom was never cleaned. When I asked why there was no hot water for a shower, I was told to 'let the water run for al least 30 minutes and it should get at least warm', I said what a waste of water, and they said, we don't care.... when I asked for ice, I was told there was none as the 'machine was broken for a long time and making icy water'. I am not picky, I did not expect for the price paid a fancy hotel, but I did expect common everyday hotel basic service and what a disappointment. Last, whoever took and posts the 'nice' pictures of this hotel must have been paid for fraud, since the lobby and exterior doesn't even match what is shown.....Let me never experience such a bad business trip again in this hotel

This hotel is the absolute worst. The condition of the hotel presents so many health risks that I am suprised it has not been shut down. The front desk staff are rude and not very bright. I think one of the front desk girls also cheated me on my hotel bill! This hotel should be shut down!

For covenience, will highlight the ups & downs of staying at Pacific Bay Hotel and hope this helps manage your expectations:

Upside:
Very convenient location (Tumon) which is the tourist area
Very convenient to tourist shuttle stop (Red Lam Lam & Sirena trolleys/buses)
Budget friendly hotel
Has swimming pool
Walking distance to public beach
Has inflatable rentals for those who wish to go to the beach
Free wi-fi in public areas within the hotel (lobby and main corridor areas)
Coin operated laundry service (washer and dryer)
Microwave use, hot and tap water available at the lobby
Designated smoking areas
Efficient and polite staff
Restaurants are within walking distance (Chinese, Brazilian, American, Fast food)
Convenience store nearby (ABC stores)
Guest rooms are spacious with A/C and hot shower and refrigerator
Basic toiletries available
Left luggage available

Downside
A relatively old hotel compared to other hotels in the area (think 80's motif and decor)
Guest rooms are not well maintained as you might notice defects or furnishings that need repair
No breakfast available
Corridors and lobby are not airconditioned
A/C needs to be maintained at a certain temperature only

All in all, Pacific Bay is worth its price because its so conveniently located. Yes, there may be other hotels that may offer convenience but expect a higher price.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

My and my wife stayed here during the Christmas season and i really liked this place. The rooms were definitely spacious and the price was extremely affordable. Guam may be a small island but the shopping/tourist area is even smaller. Pacific Bay Hotel is right smack in the middle of the shopping district which makes it easy to go anywhere at anytime. It's also a 2 minute walk from the beach! Moreover, there is an AMAZING restaurant on the first floor called Churrasco (Brazillian bbq). The next time i go back to Guam I'm definitely booking this hotel.

All questions about comfort and rooms, showers are really not necessary. Yes Hotel is outdated , yes needs some repair, needs more professional stuff BUT I did last minute booking and that hotel was only one available in the area. Believe me I do not want changes . If any I will be without Hotel room in the area. I hope so this Hotel will do same tomorrow or years ahead. I wish them luck. Because we need something like this in every city in the world . And please do not complain to much..... We want them in business ....
