Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amenities are about equivalent to a Motel-6 or Super8. AC is very weak. Coin-op washers and dryers are the cheapest kind. The parking lot is badly potholed. Housecleaning likes to knock at 8:30 am. Their lobby convenience store has the highest prices on post for any item. Their wireless internet has some very strict blockers that actually blocked me from content on You-tube and CNN.

Location is central to post: No car required if you are inprocessing Schofield from here, which is the main advantage to staying here. If you'd like a nicer place for a lower price, I suggest the Navy Lodge on Ford Island, or the Hale Koa in Waikiki.

To get to either of those on TLA status, just call every day and ask them for availability. When they are full, go and get the memo "non-availability of quarters" from them, so you can stay elsewhere while you are on TLA.

First the good, location, if you are assigned to Schofield Barracks obviously it's a great place to stay while awaiting quarters. It's within easy walking distance to the PX, Commissary, Military Clothing Sales, ACS, Legal, and Division HQ. The cleaning crew are great. They were nice and addressed room problems ... when you brought them to their attention. The bad, MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING EXCEPT TAKING YOUR MONEY - LOTS OF IT!!!! It is very overpriced for what you get ... but then again no one in the installation staff cares. It rains almost everyday and while there are no smoking signs posted everywhere, the smokers smoke right outside your door which ends up as a fog in your room. A call to the managers office, many times, with promises to get rid of the smokers, was just lip service. No one ever came to get rid of the smokers. The entire complex is designated a quiet zone because of people working 24/7 but every single day cars came through with their stereo's blasting. Again many calls to the manager led to nothing. The kitchenette is there in name only. There is a microwave, very small fridge, and coffee maker. The "free" wireless is pathetic and monitored by Jerry Falwell and his ilk. When you can get connected, you will be told things like Hooters Restaraunt site is porno, the MSN Sports page with college cheerleaders is porno, well crap, everything was almost off limits. I sent a note to installation management about their gatekeeper security scan for "porno" sites and all I got was, "we are doing our best". In other words we don't care, you are there temporarily. Go somewhere else if at possible ... which isn't always the case for us military.

The staff was friendly from check-in to check-out. Rooms were always clean. There is a small convenience store next door open 24/7. It’s quiet. The extra large flat panel was a plus. A/c worked very well. Though $200 a night seems expensive, that price is cheap compared to anywhere else. We stayed 6 nights while visiting our kids.

If you have a family member in the service stationed
on Oahu I believe the Inn at Schofield Barracks is an excellent choice of accommodations. Centrally located, quiet, green, uncrowded and reasonably priced. A light menu was available at the next door PX ( Good food, made to order).

Stayed three entire weeks working long hours using their internet connection and had a wonderful stay. Not sure what the negative reviews here are all about. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Rooms were spotless, tidy, looked clean, and smelled great. Fridge and coffee maker were great to have. Convenience store and restaurant at the Inn were handy. Location was super; you can walk across the street to the Kolekole bar and grill which is also friendly. Grounds keeping is very nice with fountains, statutes, etc. Internet connectivity was fine and the grounds are quiet at night so you can sleep. Individual thermostat can be set to keep room crispy cool. Laundry facility was great; $1 wash, $1 dry and good capacity. Recommendations: bring your earplugs for nighttime use if the sound of strong air conditioning bothers you (I rather enjoyed the white noise and the cool room); ask for a room nearest the laundry and you can just pop next door and put your laundry in. Parking is great. You can get a nightcap and walk home from the Kolekole across the street. Very short walk to the Bx, food court, post office, mini-Bx, UPS store, Baskin Robins, etc. View of the mountains is gorgeous. Fun to watch the soldiers run and call cadences down Kolekole Rd. in the mornings. If you want to stay at the Waikiki Hilton, then please go stay there. But do not mislead folks - this truly was a great place to stay and I'll stay there again if I return. You will not find nicer folks anywhere.

My daughter just move to Hawaii, along with her family . Made A reservation over two months ago they show up and they have no room for her and her family .
To think the government or whoever is part of this and yet they don't get it right.
Change management change policies or whatever but I think it's time, it's not the first time it's happened From what I've heard .
Very disappointed in every aspect of ever going anywhere on the trip this is the worst place ever

This inn is sadly the grossest hotel / motel I've ever stayed at. When we walked into the hotel room my heart sank as I saw and smelt a nasty room. To think that our soldiers and families are offered a hotel room with such poor amenities, rooms and service breaks my heart. We've been here for a month due to wait lists for housing and everyday someone new pulls in, I feel so bad they have to stay here too. The rooms are so gross - to name a few examples, the carpets are so dirty they stain your feet, the rooms stink and have mold, and the internet is so slow shouldn't even be called internet. The maids don't clean well and enter your room when you leave when having the do not disturb sign up. In addition the front desk staff hasn't been very helpful and maintenance doesn't show up even when they say they will. No one deserves to stay in a place like this - especially not our soldiers and their families!

Worst attitude and service at front desk. I asked if they had any rooms and they said yes tonight they do and the rest of the week is full. So I said can I get the room and a statement of unavailability for the rest of the week. The woman behind the desk got upset and said everyone just wants one, I can’t do this anymore, you need to talk to my supervisor. I said ok and never heard a word back. My full time or even part time job isn’t to do your job for you. Completely unsatisfactory, must be why they aren’t even available in DTS.

This place is freaking terrible, the only thing it has going for it is location. The one inch gap under the door keeps me up as it let's in a lot of light, the a/c is loud and the internet is about as fast and fun as watching wall paper dry. I have online classes, I can't have my internet this slow. It's like I'm back in the 90's where I also fall asleep waiting for the connect and loading of the first page. I tried calling the front desk to ask a simple question, was put on hold and completely forgotten about. I had to personaly go to the front desk for a question that could have been answered in 2 seconds. When my wife and I first got to Hawaii, they didn't answer the phone call, and we went on to the next hotel off post. As soon as we got all checked in to the hotel off post, we got a call from here yelling at us because we were suppose to be there instead even though we were told they didn't think there was room for us the day before we flew in. Extremely unprofessional. If you can avoid it, DON'T stay here.

It is rank dependent. Recommend you contact Ford Island Navy Lodge, bigger rooms, and better service.
