Detailed Reviews
This small guest house has the essentials, and is very nicely designed, finished, decorated and maintained. The hosts have provided for most comforts and needs. Spacious quarters, comfortable bed, nice bath, small pool, high deck for sunset views, far enough from downtown for quiet, close enough for convenience, beach going gear (snorkel masks and fins, beach chairs and towels, small coolers). If mega resorts aren't appealing to you, this is a very comfortable and pleasant alternative.

We stayed for a week in Maui and loved our stay here. Tanna, Heather and John were great hosts and always there to help and answer questions. The kitchen was huge and offered all basics to prepare your own breakfast. You get coffee, tea, milk and other basics for free. The beach chairs and snorkling gear was great to have, also being able to wash your clothes was very helpful! We enjoyed the huge outdoor terrace and the view from the rooftop. The windows in the room are one of a kind, very colorful. We would love to go there again!

We had only 4 days to explore Maui. The guest house was the perfect place for our whirlwind tour. Beautiful room (great hot tub for those sore muscles). Loved the common room and breakfast setting which allowed us to meet fellow travellers and get great advice. Not to mention the plentiful and yummy food to be found there. The hostess couldn’t have been more helpful giving us maps and cooler with frozen water and even lending us gear when mine broke. Proximity to Lahaina with all its activities and the beaches was perfect. Loved this place.

Outstanding experience! Adult oriented guest house with lovely rooms that feature a quiet time from 9 pm onwards, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a day of activities. While no longer offering breakfast, there is a fully stocked kitchen for guest use as well as in room fridges so you can organize your own breakfasts and other meals as you choose. Price point for the accommodation reflects this. Home is super clean and stylish with living room,,TV room, outdoor area with pool, hot tub, etc. staff are exceptional and become friends/ family members overnight. These folks really care about your experience and are constantly asking if you are doing okay, if there is anything they can do for you, etc. outstanding hospitality, generosity and an aloha spirit. Well located to the Lania town centre and other areas. What can we say…everything was perfect and beyond…book with assurance and enjoy!

We have stayed at several other resorts on Maui—including the Hyatt, the Napili Kai, and the Four Seasons. We had good experiences at all of them, but some of our fondest memories are from our time at the Maui Guest House. The house is well decorated and well supplied (in terms of food, games, DVDs, puzzles, reading, beach toys, etc.) and the hosts are like family without being intrusive (if you want your privacy, it won't be a problem). Though small, the pool is very relaxing. There is also a nice deck above the house from which one can see the ocean. I enjoyed drinking my coffee up there in the morning.
Would recommend this bed & breakfast for everyone, but especially for solo travelers (because you will feel like you are at home).
I personally also enjoyed staying in the midst of a regular neighborhood (very close to a local ball field / park); after a day at the beach or exploring, it was nice to be able to retreat here away from the masses of people in the more frequented areas of Maui.

This was our third stay at Maui Guest House: it feels like our Maui home! Tanna is very helpful to guests on where to go on the island and information on activities. The rooms are roomy, the bed is comfortable, and each room has a refrigerator, microwave, and table with chairs. The outdoor amenities are also really good: salt water pool, hot tub, and a large lanai. The location is also a plus; just a few blocks and you can be at the ocean!

Wow! Where to start? This is an incredible place to stay and we can't recommend it highly enough. After a stressful journey to Maui we were welcomed with such warmth and empathy we were bowled over! John, Heather, Barbara and Tanna work tirelessly to provide every need for their guests. There is such attention to detail, from the availability of cool boxes, free laundry, coffee, cold drinks, DVDs, beach chairs...the list is endless. Our recent trip covered a number of hotels but nothing came close to the cleanliness, personal service and above all hospitality of the Maui Guest House. We arrived as weary travelers but left as friends to our hosts. We can only reiterate previous comments as this is truly a home away from home. This is a must stay accommodation when visiting Maui. However, you will need to book well in advance. Having stayed for 10 days we can honestly say that the property and hosts were faultless. Have no hesitation in recommending, in fact it's the best accommodation we've stayed in!

We stayed for six nights at the Maui Guest House and enjoyed every minute of it. Deborah and Terry greeted us and showed us around. They always had lots of good information for us. Barbara was the main attendant for breakfast and throughout the day. She always was a cheerful presence. Breakfast was great, with muffins, rolls and juices each morning. Our room was well fitted including a refrigerator and hot tub, as well as our own private lanai. The common areas included a small pool and rooftop deck, grill if you wanted to cook out, video library for use on your player, puzzles to keep you occupied, and a mini business center area. All in all, this place was tops. My wife has informed me that this is where she wants to stay when we return to Hawaii. That says it all.

Stayed 3 nights with my 12 year old daughter. Tanna was an outstanding host and was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very clean and spacious. My daughter enjoyed the swimming pool to work on some mask removal skills. We enjoyed being in a residential neighborhood that is conveniently close to Lahaina which is only 10 minutes away. The beds were comfortable and the rooms well furnished with plenty of regular and beach towels. We would love to stay here again. Highly recommended.

We stayed for one night. The room was very clean but also very tiny.
For a guesthouse you felt more like someone who was bothering the host when you were greeted.
The way to the room is a narrow passage next to the house.
Nothing extra in the room. Only Bed, TV, towels and a refrigerator.
The room has no clear windows, only full painted windows. No daylight only a small skylight.
Even if you could look through the window you would see an ugly wall.
For 280 USD this accomondation is much to expensive.

The Guest House is located in a residential neighborhood, so yes, I would recommend a car. The nearest grocery store is only 2 blocks away, but the island is beautiful and you will want to get to all the different beautiful beaches and places.
Aloha,
You can take a taxi, shuttle, or you can use Uber. The best thing to do is google these options and find the most cost effective method for you. I think a shuttle or Uber would be your best options.
If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Mahalo,
Taralynn
You can take a taxi, or there is an airport shuttle service called Speedi Shuttle. You can "google" either one for reservations. Hope this helps.
(We stayed here a few months ago) There is always a staff member in the house and while we stayed there we haven't seen anyone in the house who isn't a guest of a staff member. Additionally there is a safe in the room so while it's a bit surprising that there is no lock in the door we didn't feel for a second that our belongings are at risk.
Fruit and pastries were set up at about 7am. Yogurt, pastries and other foods are in the refrigerator that you can fix for yourself earlier if needed. They pay close attention to the residents and usually won't remove the food until all is served or at about 9:30 or 10:00
