I was shocked to read a recent criticism of Blue Robinson. My husband and I have been staying at the Nohonani about 3 times a year for over 30 years. We have stayed at many resorts and condos all over the world and Blue is the best manager with whom I have ever dealt. She has had my credit card information for all these years and never once has there been type of issue about charges or refunds. In fact, she seems to make accommodations in favor of her guests. We have met many other long time guests there and Blue is a favorite of all. A recent example was last year when our toilet broke on a Sunday. When I called Blue to report it, she immediately said that she would have the plumber there within an hour. He showed up in 30 minutes and expertly fixed the problem. There was no talk about it being a Sunday and how high the charges would be. I would recommend any condo which Blue represents. She will do a fine job for you.

Spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condominium at the beach. Excellent swimming pool. Accessed by a street bordered with flowery shrubs. Cute strip mall with farmers market nearby. Parking was safely located off street.

We have been returning to the Nohnani for the past 19 years. We love it's nearness to the ocean, and especialy the oceanfront master bedrooms. It has it's own sand beach, which is a rarity when you get north of Ka'anapali, and an oceanfront pool. All units are oceanfront. There are only 28 units so the atmosphere is quiet and friendly.
There are 2 separate rental programs operating on the property. The first is Mauilodging.com which has an office just down the street. They will only accept the units that have been remodeled and upgraded.
The other rental program is located on the property. They control the balance of the rental units. Some of these are not in very good condition as they have not been upgraded since being built 30 years ago. You are generally not given a choice of unit, but assigned one by the management.

Well it would have been a pleasant experience, the complex is nice and well taken care of, however there was a group that decided the pool area was all about them and their drinking party every night while we were there. They basically forced my daughter and granddaughter out of the pool to have it as their party place. I chose this property for the location on the beach to hear the sound of the waves not to party with strangers. We come to Maui not to a party resort in Mexico (which this group proudly announced they would be the quiet one’s if they were there). We had to contact the on site manager to ask him to intervene and have the group turn down the music they were increasingly turning up and in turn yelling over. This is not the environment for that type of behavior, and it was not appreciated that we needed to ask for the managers assistance to enjoy our time at the condo. Sadly I would not recommend this place because they are not respectful of the peace and serenity people come to a place like this to experience.

Updated review-have since been threatened by manager to remove. We have never experienced anything like this. The changes are that we were finally refunded & that we received insulting emails, then threats. Here's what happened:(
We booked 1 year ahead on 2/7. 1 week after making the res. we had to cancel. We contacted Blue on 2/14. She stated she could refund us $250 of the $500 deposit. Steep for so far in advance, but we understood.
She'd send us emails stating that she kept forgetting to refund us & will do next week. Then 8 days later she'd insist she refunded us. I'd reply with an apology that it still isn't in our CC statement. She'd keep insisting she refunded us. Then finally after 10 emails & 1 month she admitted her mistake w/ no apology. 4 days later I had to send yet another email cuz we still weren't refunded & she said she'd do it again.
It felt like we were being scammed by now. When the refund still wasn't there after all that I asked for the full amount back & received an email that I was harassing her. Yikes. Had I not informed her that the refund still wasn't there, after she kept insisting it was, we never would have gotten our money back. This is when I wrote my 1st review.
Then I began receiving insulting emails. She stated I was selfish & I couldn't read to name a few! I was appalled & my husband livid but we didn't pursue anything. Then she began emailing me threats to edit or take down my review. So, here is the edit w/ the insults and threats added.

Rented this condo in 2019 and thought surely it would be updated, since it was in such bad shape at that time. Nope, despite many constructive comments, no repairs/updates have been made. Two of four recessed kitchen lights still do not work a year later. These are the only source of light in a dark and outdated kitchen. The carpet is so dirty we wouldn't go barefoot on it. I could go on and on with comments about this condo, but I'll leave it at a warning to rent one of the other units that have been modernized and cost about the same.

We stayed 2 weeks in #203. The complex is nice. The beach and pool are good. Lots of yummy restaurants and small take out super close. The whale watching was am amazing!!! And almost everyday we saw a turtle on the beach. I would NOT stay in 203 again. It was not clean and very dated. The lounge chair on the lanai was completely rusted out, so we could not sit on it. The windows were covered in dirt. The drapes were SO dirty. The company My Perfect Stay was the company in charge of his condo. I called them with some complaints and they kept saying that they wanted to make my stay perfect and what could they do. I sent them pictures and they said they were sorry but they didn’t do anything. I hope this helps you decide.

The condo itself is amazing along and the views are hard to beat. I love the beach that feels like your own private beach and the convenience to Kaanapali and kapalua is super easy. It's more of a complaint against Maui lodging properties.... the property management group. We asked for a couple hours late check out and they would not accommodate us (another group also asked through a side Ernst property management group for late check out and it was no problem). They also were doing construction on the condo below us and we had to hear a saw and jackhammer at 8 AM for two hours. I asked the property manager how long that will continue and she didn't respond....I didn't ask us if the plumber could come and talk to assess the situation at the condo below us. I feel like all they want to do is hold us to everything by the letter of the law but they would not accommodate us for any special request. Toaster didn't work and no cookie sheet one in the kitchen for the oven. We were welcomed with a cockroach in kitchen when we first arrived. I love the condo itself but would not use Maui lodging properties again.

We stayed in various places in Hawaii five times. We have traveled exten- sively thru-out U. S. and Europe and we have NEVER been to a place that was this bad!
Our daughter arrived two days ahead of us (My son was being married and thank God, staying at another hotel.) She spent two days trying to deep clean this place. The wallpaper was hanging off the walls the carpet was fiflthy. Blanket and sheets were smelly! There was black mold all over the fridge and the showers. Our compalints where not responded to at all by management.
When it rained, water was running thru the louvered glass bedroom windows and the living room patio door. The rug consequently was soaked and probably the source of the mildew thru-out the unit.
We went out a bought sheets to cover the couches so we could sit on them. My daughter took photos and I am just sorry we did not report this place to the Board to Health or police department there, but we were trying to have a good time for my son's and new daughter-in-law wedding. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN HELP IT!

Quiet little condos in the lap of the ocean. We stayed in unit 302 for one week in October. 2004. When you drive up, they look older and dated from the outside. But inside, each condo has a beautiful oceanfront view that takes your breath away. Their reasonable price and location makes them a sure bet for taking in Maui's beauty. Our first condo, a one bedroom unit, had a dirty, worn carpet and was rather hot and stuffy even with the windows open. We asked to be upgraded and were graciously moved to a two bedroom unit that was very nice and much cooler. The master bedrooms face the ocean and we slept every night surrounded by the soothing rhythm of the ocean. Our unit was clean, and well equipped, but a little dated inside. We did have to pay for our upgraded unit, but it was well worth it. Ask to stay above the pool and above the second floor. The Nohonani is in a great location and close to many amenities. If you are looking for beauty, peace and quiet on a budget, the Nohonani is a great deal!

This unit was sold in October 2018 & the new owners did considerable renovation & updating. New flooring, fixtures, lighting, etc. The property is now being managed by Maui Lodging Properties. Their booking site has updated photos & reviews.
There are more places to choose from in the Lahaina area.
