We spent 4 nights at Lahaina Shores when we were visiting for the Maui Invitational a few months ago. We were mostly satisfied with the property, the beachfront was great and it was nice to be able to walk to Front Street for breakfast and dinner for many of our meals. The Whalers General Store next door was nice for snacks and beverages in the condo.

We were in a 5th floor unit with a mountain view that did not look like it has seen a ton of updating over the years. My brother was in a different unit on the 2nd floor that has seen some updating, you could tell the difference. The queen bed was a little hard and the headboard made a terrible squeak whenever you shifted, fortunately stuffing a few hot pads between it and the wall fixed that. Furniture in the room was typical Hawaiian condo furniture - don't sit in it for more than a half hour. The air conditioner worked well, but it was really loud. Bathroom was nice, liked having the shower controls on the opposite wall of the shower as it was easy to set the water temperature. Did not use any of the appliances in the kitchen besides the refrigerator, but they all looked in good condition.

Our big issue with the unit was the cleanliness of the floor. After walking in there for 10 minutes, whether from outside or coming out of the shower, our feet were black. Not sure what the heck was on there, but we ended up walking in either slippers or socks for our entire stay. Living in the red dirt capital of the world I know you can keep floors clean, so this was disappointing as they should be getting cleaned every day.

Overall it was a good stay, we liked the location much better than the Kaanapali hotel strip where we stayed on our last visit. If the price was right we'd give the property another try and hope for a cleaner and more updated unit.

My husband and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon in one of the oceanfront studios, and it was lovely to wake up in the morning and step onto the lanai for a cup of coffee or for breakfast (which we often picked up from one of the nearby restaurants). The location is very close to many restaurants and sights in Lahaina, which was great because we didn’t have to worry about finding parking as much, which can be difficult. The parking at the hotel is in an adjacent garage, which was great, but the clearance is just about 6’, which was a little scary in our rental Jeep, not to mention tall individuals walking through. The room was nice and clean, if a little dated in decor. As the rooms are individually owned, you can tell that some have been updated much more recently than others. Bed was comfortable, and the room and bathroom were spacious. The conditions of the hallway did leave a bit to be desired as they were a bit shabby, but otherwise the property seems to be kept in good condition in public spaces. We did take advantage of the laundry room on our floor, which I think was about $2.50 for wash and $2.50 for drying per load. The small pool area is right off the beach with a shower near the gate for rinsing off, and a hot tub as well. Having a kitchen in our room was lovely for keeping snacks and drinks as well as having real plates and silverware. Overall, since we were not in our room or on the property most of the trip, it was perfectly suitable for our needs! The sunsets from the lanai are stellar, and the service we received while we were there was just as wonderful. We would definitely stay here again!

We booked LSBR through Costco Travel Canada and loved every minute of it! Included in our package were no resort fees and free parking which they put us in the parkade next door and easy to access (we preferred it too because our rental car was out of the sun). We had a mountain view room on the 4th floor. The room had a queen size bed, updated decor, plenty of storage, kitchen (with plates, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils, etc) and a huge shower. Daily housekeeping services, pool, hot tub, beach access and towels, on floor laundry ($). There were plenty of lounge chairs available and the gated beach access was very handy. The beach itself was beautiful and walkable. With The Feast of Lele next door, walking over in the evening to view the show was a wonderful treat.

The staff were friendly, helpful and always greeted us. LSBR is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants further down on Front Street. LSBR was a great place to stay and we would stay there again. Highly recommend it!

Hotel was close to downtown, had it's own beach access, pool and was for the most part, clean and peaceful. We arrived near the time the front desk closed for the night (10pm) so wasn't able to switch rooms. Staff was generally pleasant and helpful. Booked using Hyatt free night cert and points so good value there.

Didn't do enough research to learn the suites are all owned by individuals and decorated to their own preferences so quality varies. Beware of room 530 - see thru blinds at night and not sound proof patio door/glass from outside noise. Roosters sounded like they were on the balcony at 5 AM, delivery trucks were clearly heard as well as the bar patrons outside on the street.

After requesting a room change first thing in the morning, though with some attitude from the staff person who was trying to talk to someone on the phone and help me at the same time, we luckily were moved down the hall and to a slightly more updated unit with sound proof patio door and glass (no more roosters at 5 am). We enjoyed the remainder of the stay without much incident, though found out housekeeping is every 3 days or by request. Any adhoc requests were delivered promptly (new beach towels, kitchen wares, etc. Our TV broke and they replaced it pretty quickly.

As a Hyatt elite member, I didn't feel like I received many benefits other than the free night cert use (room upgrade, 2 bottles of water, etc.). We were told very curtly that we needed to pay $85 day more if I wanted an ocean view room, which may or may not be available even though we're hyatt elites. Slight difference in upgrade attitude at the Regency, Andaz and other Hyatt hotels I've stayed at.

Service is average here due to a little attitude at front desk and not being available after 10pm. Rooms marked average due to hit or miss on quality.

This was a great spot for us because we were out all day and came back tired to a beautiful waterfront view and able to make our own meals, snack and drinks because of the kitchen. We watched whales while sitting on our balcony having a drink. Sunset view is great, too. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are washers and dryers available for a small charge. Parking was free, but spots are very tight. There are a few restaurants and shops right next door including a small grocery store and water sports equipment rentals. It’s just a couple blocks walk into downtown Lahaina for boat tours, shopping, etc. The downside is this is not a full service hotel...there is no onsite restaurant and the pool is quite small. You might be disappointed if you don’t get a beach view as the “Mountain” view includes the parking lot and homeless people hanging in the area. I found the mattress to be too soft but I think these units are actually individually owned so each is a little different.

We had a fantastic visit to Lahaina Shores and particularly enjoyed staying in unit #113. It is a ground level unit, steps to the pool and a few steps further to the pool. Our family of four was comfortable with two of us sleeping on the pull out couch in the front room and two of us in the king bed in the back room. The unit is nicely remodeled and has a closet full of beach toys, boogie boards and tommy bahama beach chairs that the owner generously lets all guests borrow. The unit has four beach towels for guest use. We love Lahaina Shores as it is a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Lahaina Town, but also far enough away to remain a quiet oasis on days when cruise ships come in and lots of people are in town. The beach in front of Lahaina Shores is perfect for young kids because the reef blocks any large waves. I cannot recommend this spot enough!

Stay with my family of 3 in May 2021. Location was great, felt safe and one block away from Front Street shopping, with tons of restaurant and tourist shops, and only 10 min drive from great snorkeling sites. It walks right out on the beach though, so the location is so perfect for direct beach access! The unit was clean, the porch was great for drying our wetsuits. The pull out bed is uncomfortable and the knives are dull. An insect here and there-but no big deal! The washer and dryer are great, washer only washes with warm water, even when put on cold water settings. Parking was very easy and affordable in the underground garage. Would recommend for the price!

For the premium price of the penthouse, one would expect a clean and hygienic environment, fresh sheets and a turndown service every night. Unfortunately when we arrived the bed was not made and had dirty sheets on it. The kitchen seems well equipped but I would be wary of cooking of leaving anything on the countertops. We had a pizza on our last night here and woke up in the middle of the night to see roaches all over the pizza which was disgusting. With COVD 19 more establishments are particular about their cleaning practices but not so much here. I would not recommend this place unfortunately and definitely not for the premium they charge for complete lack of service, hygiene, and cleanliness. The property management company was completely unresponsive to my repeated queries and conerns.

Dear SATraveldiaries, I'm so sorry you had this experience. Unfortunately this property is managed by the owner and not the onsite property management company, who as you can see from our other four and five star reviews is very responsive to guests concerns. We hope your next visit to Hawaii will be a better experience. Mahalo, Destination Residences Hawaii

I would stay here again just for the location and view. We stayed in 237 where the bed happened to be uncomfortable and the bathroom lighting was terrible but it was still a great value just for the location and view. We still slept. I think housekeeping only came once but if you ask the front desk for anything, they accommodate. Loved that there was coffee and a coffee maker in the room! Also loved that they provide pool/beach towels. I would just pick a room with a more comfortable bed next time.

If your definition of a resort is tons of amenities and activities provided by the hotel, then this isn't a resort. This is essentially a bare bones hotel that provides lovely views courtesy of mother nature and a safe clean space to rest your head. The room was on a higher floor facing the ocean and we had an amazing view. We'd often sit on the balcony and just watch the sun set. Having a full kitchen was great, but we didn't take much advantage of it. That said all dishware and utensils you could need to cook full meals were there and clean. Speaking of clean, when we got there the room was neat and tidy but after staying a week we were in desperate need of housekeeping. We were told given COVID they were only cleaning the rooms every 3-days with the day you check-in not counting as a day. I didn't find that out until day 3 came and no housekeeping arrived. On day 4 with with still no housekeeping at the end of the day I called and was told essentially they didn't get around to it because they were understaffed. While we understood a courtesy note about that would have been nice. Nothing is worse then coming back after a LONG day expecting a nice clean room and finding it untouched. On day 5 we FINALLY had a refresh and it was crazy overdue. As far as other things you may want to note there is no bell boy for bags, no checking out of fun beach gear and the front desk staff is nice enough but not the cheeriest you might be used to for this industry. They were always super casual which is fine but kinda odd when you're staying at a "resort" and not your friends room for the night. Parking is easy in an adjacent underground lot and Lahaina is 5-min to get to on foot. It's a very touristy town but has great shops and dining options. Be aware a lot closes relatively early so don't expect dinner past 11 PM. Overall, Lahaina Shores is a clean bare bones do it yourself hotel not a resort where you're paying for the view not the amenities.

Yes, there are washers and dryers on each floor. You pay to used them, but they take a credit card so you don't have to worry about change. You can also purchase detergent and dryer sheets at the front desk, for about a dollar.
