We vacationed in July of 2022 with our two teens. The rental and property were beautiful. We stayed in Unit 12, it was gorgeous. The problem was parties that took place on the road in front of the resort at the seawall. The evening parties started at sundown and involved locals speeding and breaking in front of Poipu Kapili. Multiple trucks would then park along the seawall and kids would openly drink alcohol and blare rap music through amplified speakers with explicit language. We weren't able to sit outside on our patio or at the pool in the evening, and even with the windows closed, would hear the music and repetitive lewd language in the condo. We called Parrish Kauai multiple times, who has no jurisdiction, and they offered no remedy or compensation. We then called the police nightly who would clear out the party at some point only for the kids to return the next night. We knew every evening would be a nightmare. We chose Kauai for a quiet and peaceful destination. Our rental was extremely expensive and a huge splurge. The whole experience was traumatic, to be honest, and the worst vacation we've ever had. We tried switching to a hotel or other resort and everything was booked. After the first night of partying I did a deep internet dive and found other reviews. Somehow this is a little kept Poipu Kapili "hidden" secret. Do some more research and choose another location.

No doubt, Poipu Kapili is beautiful. We loved the grounds, the pool, and the unit (24)! What we did not appreciate was the thermostat for the air conditioning is programmed to not go below 73°. The unit is on the second floor, it gets very warm inside, and it’s humid. We had a problem with the air-conditioning during our stay - it broke down and they graciously brought us a portable air conditioner which we had in the bedroom for three nights, but left the rest of the unit quite warm. We stayed one night after the AC was fixed and discovered 73° is far too high for the thermostat to be set to be comfortable! We do not see this disclosed anywhere in the description that you cannot control the AC. We paid a lot to stay here and that was very disappointing. It was not even at the hottest time of the year that we stayed (May). I can’t imagine how hot it would be in late summer. As lovely as it was, for that reason we will never stay again. If air-conditioning isn’t important to you then this is a perfect unit, as it was quite comfortable with a lovely view.

We just returned from our family trip to Kauai. We rented two units, #56 and #2. Unit #56 was good. The furniture and bathrooms were what we expected. However #2 was not good. Everything in it was so dated. The bathrooms were most likely original and need to be replaced. There was a piece of plywood in the sofa, I don't know why. #Unit 2 is not worth the money. Parrish and Poipu Kapili should have inspections of the units and determine if they are up to the level of standards they want to be associated with. I have left a review with Parrish and also did a survey expressing my concerns about #2. They have not responded.

We stayed at Poipu Kapili #7. It was the perfect place for our family including a 2-year-old. The location is fantastic--right across the road from the ocean. Even though you can't swim there, it provides an incredible view and the sunsets are perfect. It's a VERY short drive to Poipu State beach and conveniently located to all you'd want to see on the south shore. The property is tasteful, calm, and lovely. Nice clean grills, tennis courts, and pool. Thanks for a dream vacation!

The problem with this condo complex is location. It’s fine if you just want to vegetate by the pool or walk to the shopping center. If you want to go to the beach, however, you have to walk 1/2 mile to join the mass of humanity at the Sheraton, or drive to a distant, less crowded location. There’s a nice ocean view from some parts of the complex, but the best time to enjoy it is the evening around sunset. Unfortunately that’s when locals park in mass along the street that runs between the complex and the ocean. We experienced a daily ritual of reved engines and partying that would go until dark.

Having never been to Hawaii we chose to visit Kauai upon recommendations from friends. I found the Parrish Group had many options and once I contacted them and spoke with one of their agents I felt confident in our choice. The front desk at Parrish Kauai was always in contact with me prior and during our stay in Kauai so, I felt like we were always being looked after. They made sure we had instructions for entry into our condo. Because I knew we would have a long day of travel , I used their concierge service to have some groceries placed into our rental before our arrival. Our rental was so nice, everything about it was spot on…so comfortable and clean upon arrival, excellent bathrooms and comfy bed, nicely stocked kitchen, beach chairs,& cooler and easy access to the pool and a great outdoor patio to enjoy at various times of day. I think the location of Poipu Kapali turned out to be a big positive for us. We walked to several restaurants and shopping areas from our location. The property itself was well kept, nicely landscaped and included amenities such as clean grills( both charcoal & gas) and tennis/ pickleball courts. I definitely would recommend the Parrish Group to anyone looking to have a satisfying experience in Kauai. Thank you so much for making our stay really special.

We loved our stay at Poipu Kapili #22! Excellent communication with management and easy check-in. Extremely well-equipped kitchen with high end appliances (e.g. SubZero), abundance of water and sports equipment, gorgeous ocean and pool views from inside the home and on the lanai, and comfortable and tasteful tropical furnishings. This place offers an easy walking distance to beaches, restaurants, shopping, and parks. Enjoy spectacular sunsets and whale-watching right from this property. For those who avoid the sand, the beautiful pool and serene gardens also provide a respite. Poipu Kapili has been our go-to destination for many years. (This is the less touristy end of Poipu.) This is our favorite unit, and it is reasonably priced. On a side note, while we did not need to use it, this is one of the few places that offers air conditioning. The washer and dryer came in handy for wet swimsuits and towels. For those who enjoy cooking, the herb garden offers a huge variety of fresh culinary herbs. Poipu Kapili also provides both gas and charcoal BBQs for your convenience. One last note, if you need to work while in paradise, this home also offers a well-equipped desk with printer, supplies and reliable WiFi.

When something unexpected happens is when the true test of how good a place is. There was a bad leak from the unit above my daughters apt and there was sewage and flooding in their master bathroom and hallway and just barely missing my 2 month old grandson while sleeping. While they tried to change the condo and eventually did the communication was very poor and there seemed to be a lack of concern. There was no follow up to see if everything was ok. Not great customer service for a brand that markets luxury living.

I would have rated it higher if not for the fact that 4 of the 7 days we stayed I had to listen to chainsaws, woodchippers, drills, rap music, and powerwashers. Who schedules all of the outdoor maintenance in the same week when you have guests staying the week. I complained on Tuesday after two days of chainsaws tree trimming. I was assured it was only those two days. It was not. The day they were power washing the building I was told I couldn’t be outside. I came here to rest and relax and all this did was heightened my stress level. It’s too bad because our unit #33 was excellent. Beautiful views and when the noise wasn’t happening you could hear the crashing waves.

The descriptions, photos, and reviews of this place had me so excited! But from the time we arrived, we kept being disappointed. * The check-in was all on our own, with the key in a lock box (probably due to COVID). But there were two unlabeled lockboxes right there, and it was dark in the passageway. It wasn't fun fumbling with the lockboxes when we were tired from a long travel day. Label the lockboxes! * When we finally got into the room (#21) , it was an absolute oven. Both ceiling fans were running, as was the A/C in the bedroom, but it was so stifling. Our traveling companions in room 47 did not have this experience. Perhaps the nearby buildings blocked the trade winds to room 21, who knows. We had to sleep each night with the bedroom door shut and A/C blasting rather than hear the waves crashing (one of our favorite things about visiting Hawaii). We could not spend time in the rest of the unit without being very uncomfortable, even with all the doors open, ceiling fans and portable fans (one was broken) running. At night, with the glass doors open and the louvres shut for privacy, not enough breeze could get through the tight louvres, which did not adjust. Poor design for this usage. So we spent most of our time in our traveling companions' room or outside. * The mattress was very old and sagged in the middle. We kept sinking/rolling towards the middle. * The living area had so much furniture, it was way too much and unnecessary for a unit that only sleeps four. * On our first day, we realized that the sliding glass door to the patio was not working correctly: we couldn't shut it. I called the phone # we were given and nobody answered, but they said to call another #. The # they gave was the one I called! I left a message and nobody returned my call, ever. We fought with that door the whole time we were there. * The WiFi was terrible, and we could not use our phones or devices in the bedroom (hence we couldn't use them without being uncomfortable from the heat). * There was a notice taped to our door about tree trimming that may cause noise, dust, and interfere with parking during our stay. They said they had no control over the scheduling. This was very frustrating. Peak season, tree trimming, really? *Pool closing at 8pm is very, very early. Seems unreasonable. Many other places we have stayed (including on this trip) have pool open till 10pm. On the positive side: * The bathrooms and kitchen were nice, updated, well-stocked. We liked the soaps and shampoo/conditioner. * We appreciated having washer/dryer and laundry supplies in the unit * The pool was nice but due to the short hours we only got to use it once, for less than 30 minutes. * The grounds were well-maintained and pretty, and the grounds crew were friendly. * The location was nice. * The Murphy bed in the main room was a nice touch, with a comfy mattress. We would have slept on it if the main room temperature was more comfortable. If we return to Kauai, we will find another place to stay. Nonexistent service, too many problems, not worth the price.
