Made the Sheraton our stopping-point on our return to the mainland after a couple of weeks in Australia and New Zealand. Everyone is friendly and professionally motivated. Our room was immaculate with a view of the pounding surf which was mesmerizing..... Great food at both...More
I was really worried about staying here after reading all the reviews about the construction, but it was totally a non factor.
Just book an ocean view or ocean front room and you’ll never see or hear any construction. I figured if I’m going all...More
I just returned home from a 5 night stay at the Sheraton. The location can't be beat. There are restaurants at the resort or many choices close by for when you get hungry. The beach was nice to use right at the hotel. The pool...More

Their advertisement stated “Upon arrival, you will be immersed in relaxation, rejuvenation and tranquility”. We prepaid. Needed to cancel 15...More

It seems to me that a lot of the negative reviews are from people who didn't take the time to read through the reviews prior to coming. We knew there was construction across the street and booked our room accordingly. We stayed in a deluxe...More

The biggest let down is that you don't expect construction of that magnitude when you arrive at a vacation place. The hotel is renovating the entire property. Our room window give on the construction zone, a roped-off area with one building nearly finished, the other a new construction for which they were using jackhammers, excavators and dump trucks pretty much all day.
Apart from the noise, the sights were not conducive to a peaceful vacation. The hotel offered us an ocean-side room for an additional $185 a night, a special deal, they said!
Depending on where your room is located, the noise will be worse. This said, the heaviest part of the construction seemed close to finish by the time we left on June 4. But you will still hear drills and hammering for a while.
I would call the hotel to ask them what is the status with the construction and request a room that does not face construction.
To be perfectly fair, construction does not go on at night. You won't hear it when on the beach and if you are the type that likes to visit the island and just spends the night at the hotel, it won't prevent you from sleeping.
