My family (2 parents and 2 teens) thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The hotel is massive! Lots to do and see. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beach is rocky and doesn’t have waves but it has great snorkeling! Pools were a lot of fun. The Kona restaurant and Lagana grill were great! The sunsets are breathtaking. Definitely would recommend.

Great food, amazing Luau, friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to others. If you don’t want to leave the resort, you don’t have to. They have everything. Oh and a great dolphin show!

This hotel is stunning. The beach and sunset are one of a kind and absolutely beautiful. Easy to get shade under the palms on the comfy grass by the lagoon. Tram service runs regularly if you are too hot to walk but you soon get used to moving around.

This complex is very big. If you do not want to walk long distances stay in the Makati tower as it is close to everything but one pool. The lagoon was great for snorkeling but go early to avoid all of the kayaks and paddle boards.

We just spent a few days here in July and we enjoyed ourselves but I don't know if we'll stay here again. The grounds, pools, and lagoon are absolutely spectacular and are what gives the property it's value. And the people working there were wonderful. But it's like the resort is way oversold relative to their staffing and resources. It was impossible to get towels in the middle of the day (and there are no towels by the pools! So stingy with the towels.... What's up with that????) And we tried getting breakfast at the little coffee shop in the Ocean tower, and they were out of EVERYTHING.... like milk and half and half.... at a coffee shop! The room was clean and had a great view, but the bathroom was tiny and didn't have a fan. And the only way to get shade at the pools was to rent one of their lounge chairs with a shade covering -- why no umbrellas? The biggest downside was the size -- it's enormous! If you're in the Palace or Ocean tower, be prepared to walk, and give yourself plenty of time. It took 15 minutes to get from our room to our car. There are trams and shuttles, but you have to wait for them which also takes time. This was definitely a hassle. I think the property would be great for families with small kids who just want to hang out by the pools and are not super comfortable in the ocean. If you are interested in exploring the island, this might not be the best home base unless you want to exclusively book tours (manta snorkeling, visiting the volcano or Kealekekua Bay) through the Hilton's vendors. But just remember to give yourself plenty of time to get around!

Absolutely beautiful resort. The lagoon is the perfect place to snorkel and swim with sea turtles and many fish. The pools are nice (water slides too!) and the grounds are immaculate. So many little gems and hidden places to walk, rest, soak in the amazing scenery that is Hawaii. The rooms are sparse but clean. They are requiring a 24 hour notice for cleaning though, so you need to request daily cleaning in advance if you want that. We loved it and hope to take our kids back there!

We took our family vacation here for the first time and we had an absolute blast! So much to do and see and it was just gorgeous! The hotel is clean and smells amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our entire trip. The only drawback is the price of food at the couple of restaurants that are still on resort. The food is good but not for the price you pay. I would like to see more food options on the property, so we didn't have to go off resort to eat. Be prepared to walk a lot. You can take the tram if needed but walking is sometimes easier. We enjoyed the boat rides in the evening just for fun as well. We definitely plan on coming back to visit!

Positives here are the days spent swimming at the lagoon, dolphin watching in their enclosure, sea turtles, lots of pools and hot tubs, boat rides and a tram. Beautiful sunsets. There’s lots of great walking paths etc.. It’s a good place. A few of the drawbacks are $39 a day to park, and in the day non resort people descend on the pools for a day fee so you are fighting for parking. I didn’t like the turtles being messed with by all the tourists though. I counted 17 turtles in the lagoon and people were water biking over them, paddle boarding on them, petting them in the water and I even saw a guy bit by a turtle. Maybe the resort has a special agreement but all the state beaches have signs to stay 20 feet away from turtles, so I was confused. The food was expensive too. We went into Kona most nights or to the shopping center 5 minutes away. I’d go back to this resort as it was nice. Very clean and friendly.

This is our second time staying at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. The hotel is huge with lots to do all at a prices $$$$$. With that said our party of 6 (two rooms) enjoyed our trip. My only compliant is they say you have full use of all the hotel amenities on your last day but do not offer a hospitality room to clean up so you can enjoy your last day when you have a evening flight to the mainland. Also even when you are willing to pay an extra $150 for a late check out there is no availability in this huge resort. We were even planning on gettin a cabana or two and having lunch at the pool, so they would have made more money off us. Also the hotel charges a $45 per night resort fee and $39 per night self parking fees, still don’t see why a separate parking fee is charged along with the res port fee, but all resorts pretty much do it to make money off the customers.
