A Hampton is a Hampton is a Hampton. This was a typical Hampton. Clean, decent breakfast, and the needed amenities.
What made this one stand out however was the people. EVERY employee was extremely personable and helpful and you could tell wanted to make your stay the best it could be.

Hotel staff are very friendly and rooms are nice and clean. We had a room on the second floor near the elevator, it had a view of a wall so the room was very dark which it made it seem small. Breakfast during the Covid was extremely limited with just grab and go bags available, that was a bit disappointing especially since we had just stayed at another Hampton Inn in La Crosse,WI that had breakfast sandwiches and lots of other options available. It's really hit or miss for breakfast depending on which Hampton Inn you stay at during this time with the Covid situation. This hotel does not have a guest laundry so if you have clothes to wash you will need to find a laundromat in the area. Applebee's restaurant is within walking distance so we had takeout from there for dinner.

The ski hill was close and the lite slopes at night visible from the hotel. Our family especially enjoyed the breakfasts-- different waffle flavors each of the 4 days we were there. The rooms were clean and new. Our 21 year old daughter has told us she needs a new mattress after sleeping on this one. There were comfortable.

Customer service was top notch. Continental breakfast also very good. Biggest complaint was when I went to bed & found long dark hairs in the sheets. Left me unable to sleep and thinking about if the sheets were even washed between guests. I know help is short everywhere right now but if I’m spending a couple hundred dollars on a very basic hotel room, I definitely expect clean, hair-free sheets. Due to the fact that we had booked the last double queen room and the fact I wanted my children to get to sleep, I didn’t make a big deal about it. Just didn’t sleep all night thinking about it. The pool was also very small. When my children saw how many kids were in it they didn’t have any interest. Every employee we encountered was very friendly and accommodating.

staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My travel agency booked me for two night instead of one and the manager and front counter person took care of the issue with no problem.
Great thing is it is not far from Mullins Cheese Factory, worth a trip to their store

We always stay at this hotel when we go to Wausau so when we headed up to Granite Peak to go skiing we decided to stay there again. The staff is great and was extremely helpful, we kept having trouble with our room keys and they worked really hard to get the issue resolved. We ended up getting the corner room on the second floor which is an ADA compliant room so it is very large. The only downside is that the room is on the second floor and there is no privacy screen on the window so you have to close the blinds (which makes the room really dark) or people are able to see right into the room from the outside. We were disappointed that there was no microwave in the room so you have to go down to the lobby to heat food up. The breakfast selection is still really limited compared to other hotels which is really surprising since most other hotels have been able to adapt with the covid situation. They don't have any types of breakfast sandwiches or hot meal options, just grab and go muffins and stuff so we ended up heading to McDonalds to get breakfast. Overall, we normally would always stay at this hotel but we will probably look at some other options the next time we go to Wausau so we can get a better breakfast and maybe a microwave in the room.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was well above average with both waffles and eggs as well as oatmeal and other cereals. Hot coffee was available 24 hours a day. The room other hotel areas have been newly remodeled.

This Hampton Inn lived up to our expectations, for a Hilton property. It has a convenient locations to restaurants and sites like Rib Mountain. It was clean, with spacious rooms and staffed with friendly employees. Amy worked the Sunday mourning breakfast area and did an excellent job keeping it well stocked with items, as well as, keeping the serving line and tables clean. Thanks Amy and the entire Wausau Hampton Inn staff.
My wife and I, were returning from a trip to the Apostle Islands. Next time a stay is required in Wausau, we will book this Hampton.

This hotel is very clean, and modern. We were pleasantly surprised with the crisp clean room, the beautiful bathroom with plenty of towels and supplies, comfortable beds and great breakfast. The lady who was working in the breakfast area was very attentive and kind as she worked around all of the people moving in the breakfast area. We only stayed in this hotel one night, but have made a note that if we are ever in the area and need to stay overnight, this hotel is at the top of our list. It's very updated and feels like a luxury hotel, so if you're looking for a beautiful place to stay with great service, this is the one!

The hotel is in a good location by Highway 51 and 29. Breakfast was good and had good hot and cold options. Breakfast area is split up between the lobby, but it works ok. Room was clean, although there was a lingering disinfectant smell in the room. Didn't need to interact with the staff so not sure if they were friendly or not. We'll just assume that they were friendly. Housekeeping started at 7 am, which was quite early to start vacuuming. Had an issue with the digital key both at night and the next morning, but I wouldn't put the blame on the hotel for that.
