Detailed Reviews
The hotel is right near UW Stevens Point campus and the Schmeekle Reserve. The price was on the lower end of offerings for my time of travel. Much of the hotel seems to have been redone or freshened up as lobby, breakfast area and room all had newer furnishings and freshly painted walls.
Room was just right for me and my needs, with a tall mini-fridge and nice microwave.
I arrived late in the day without any issues and was greeted by a friendly person.
Breakfast was decent for an included breakfast, with some hot options and some cold options. Plenty of OJ, Milk and coffee were available.
In the back, there is a nice looking wooden play structure with swings etc on a mulched area (maybe rubber, maybe wood ... felt I was too big to check it out.) Next to the play area is a cement pad with a fire pit and gas BBQ grill for guests. Plenty of seats around the fire pit and some tables and chairs for people who grill.
Staff were all friendly and attentive, seen throughout the morning, day and evening. Later, when there is nobody at the front desk, the proprietor is only a moment away via the front phone.
Vending was a pleasant surprise as all items were priced reasonably and systems were operating well.
Small laundry was available too.
In addition to ice, there is a water fountain with filtered water to fill your bottle before you head out.
Overall nice place and great for the price.

Room Tip:Â The front desk is right in the foremost area of the hotel. Easy to miss at night.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. From the outside, it looks older but clean. From the inside, it is clear that a lot of time and money has been spent to make this a great facility. Our hotel room on the second floor was completely redone recently. The bed is very comfortable. Likely one of the most comfortable beds we have ever experienced in a hotel room. The bathroom is small but adequately equipped with everything you need. The flat-screen television is massive and the rest of the room is tastefully decorated. The breakfast was what you would expect at a hotel. All of the common areas are spotless. The owner seems very gracious and accommodating. I will make it a point to stay here again if we are back this way. They do a fabulous job here. Please consider this place for a stay in Stevens Point. It is well worth the value.

The hotel is worth the money to stay there; the rooms are clean & bed was comfortable. Not very many people staying mid-week so it was really quiet. Check-in & out was seamless; the staff were very pleasant & helpful w/ wifi issue. Easy accessibility to Stevens Point & the interstate.
Breakfast was ok but very few choices for the low carb consumer (egg whites, sausage).

We stayed in 6 IHG hotels (on a long road trip) and then this one because it was picked by a family member from the town we were visiting. It was bad!
4 floors - no elevator. They ask you to use a key card to get in a security door while the front door remained unlocked - about 20 feet away.
The breakfast (what there was of it) was so horrible. A dry disk of egg and not much more. Our group ate at a restaurant after sampling the breakfast the first day.
The sink is right at the door when you come in. Any body in the area can see you at the sink whenever the door is even cracked. Very small bathroom.
Just didn't feel professional at all. Old, dated..not kept up.
We will never go back.

I didn't catch staff members' names, but the checkin and checkout clerks were kind, friendly, efficient, and professional. I had seen some bad reviews of the property, but I found the room to be very comfortable (especially the bed), and I appreciated the ceiling fan. The breakfast could have had more savory items like hard-boiled eggs or potatoes, but the food served was tasty and fresh. I thought the hotel was a good value, and I will stay there again.

The refrigerator was dirty and stunk. The guy behind the desk had to clean it for us
The room stunk like musty carpeting
The TV didn't have any volume and we didn't get a replacement.
We were also told, we couldn't change rooms

Stay far away!!! We made reservations well in advance and check in was at 2 pm. We arrived around 2:30 and we had to talk to a kiosk to check in. There was 2 people sitting at the front desk and they proceeded to tell me that our room wasn't ready that it would be a half hour. The guy told use to go somewhere or sit in the lobby. So my wife and I sat in the lobby because we had our dog and could not go anywhere to shop or eat. We already drove 2 hours and the last thing I wanted to do is drive anymore. 2.5 hours after we tried to check in we finally got to the room. As we tried to go in the key did not work. So we had to get one of the guys at the front to let us in and get new keys. The refrigerator smelt so bad, the tub had mold and I have no Idea around the tub faucet. They also left 2 rolls of toilet paper on the rolls that maybe had 3 rolls around them. Breakfast was nasty!! STAY AWAY!!!!!

Coffee maker did not work, light burnt out over sink and you better get to breakfast early or the hot stuff will be all gone and they won't make any more. The check-in is a hoot with a guy on a screen who didn't know the layout well enough to give accurate directions to the stairs. No elevator.

A little dated looking, it could use some freshening up. We just needed a place to spend the night. Note: the back door didn't latch unless you pulled the door shut, which could be a potential safety issue.

The manager was very pleasant upon check in. It seems that he works both shifts as he was on late at night and early in the day. The care taken in the place easily shows as both the lobby and breakfast area were clean, presentable and with a good variety for breakfast.
I spent the week, and as my request they only serviced the room twice. The place is close to Schmekle for daily walks and close to UWSP. With east highway access this is a good location as well, but with an air of privacy.
I was very impressed with the staff’s polite mannerisms and would not hesitate to stay here again. A restful week it was.

At our hotel, we change sheets every 3 days of staying. So in your case, our housekeepers would just straighten up the bed, refresh the towels, empty garbage, and vacuum. Basically tidy up the place unless requested full service.
Hello!
We do not charge for service dogs. We only ask for a copy of the service dog license upon check-in.
See you soon!
