Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

B&B is located in quiet but gorgeous setting not far from Queenstown. Car needed. Dan and Mitzi go the extra mile and offer an authentic B&B experience. Wonderful breakfast and nicely decorated rooms.

Simply stunning! Dan and Mitzi make you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive and have done a fabulous job in creating a place which is both beautiful and comfortable - a real home from home. The breakfast and home baked biscuits and cakes were delicious! Perfectly located for both Queenstown and Arrowtown and surrounded by scenic walks and bike rides, it really is the place to stay. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be going back again.

5-STAR STAY: Every aspect of our stay at the Old Ferry was exceeded from the moment we arrived. From the warm and inviting welcome on arrival, the fantastic tips on where to go and what to do in Queenstown, the comfortable room with elegant traditional styling, and the incredible home-made full Irish breakfasts every morning, there was nothing to fault about our stay. Of course, we were only sad that we weren't staying longer, but they've inspired us to come back again soon and be in the care of Dan and Mitzi at the Old Ferry. Thank you for being the highlight of our NZ trip!

Great care taken over the decor of the rooms, the breakfast meal and presentation. We also had a most delectable peach tart from the peach tree in their garden which we could help ourselves to during our stay. The rooms were very comfortable. Kind, helpful and friendly owners who have a dedicated kitchen for the B&B available for the guests to use as well. It is a high quality establishment and I felt very spoilt. :-) If there was anything I could add, it would be for a lighter blanket/duvet option in the room, which I am sure they would be able to sort out if I asked.

Just outside of queenstown on a quiet country road alongsite a river and historic wooden brdge you find this 100 plus years old hotel, all renovated and refurbished, brightly pink on the outside, warm in all aspects inside: the comfortable beds, the fireplace in the lounge, the coffee in the kitchen and the everlasting hospitality of Mitzie and Dan, specializing in smiles, stories and breakfast. And yes, because of the charm, the rooms cannot be the size you might be accustomed to, but who cares when you get the best feeling a traveller can get’: home away from home.

The Ferrry is a lovely historical home. A real gem located in a quiet area near river and hiking trails. Dan and Mitzie are exceptional hosts. They exude a genuine warmth and desire to make one’s stay as comfortable as possible. We had some great conversations and good laughs with both of them. They are a wealth of information about the Queenstown area. The breakfasts are sumptuous and rooms so cozy. We were very sad to move on. We would definitely come back in a heartbeat!!

This is a fantastic place. Dan and Mitzi are very special hosts. They were so welcoming, extremely knowledgable about the area and above all professional. Their breakfasts were fantastic and sitting down to eat at the beautiful dining table with the other guests was lovely. Nice to meet new people. They could not do enough for us. The homemade bread and cakes are a must. The Old Ferry Hotel itself is a special place with lots of history. Our room was delightful. They have taken a lot of thought over the furnishings and decoration. It really works. We liked the way that we could use the kitchen to make drinks or snacks. Mitzi's baking was just what was needed after a long day. They have been brave by not putting TV's in the bedrooms, but it worked. There is a

Away from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown, you will find this delightful hotel B&B. The hosts,Mitzi and Dan, are so welcoming and provide great advice on places to visit. So thankful for the use of their laundry facilities. Great room with quaint toilet. Slept so well in a very comfortable bed. Good choice of breakfast and parking is opposite the hotel. Mitzi’s cakes are tasty and the fire in the lounge made us feel right at home. Their advice on eating in Arrowtown was worthwhile.

Dan and Mitzi are wonderful hosts. Mitzi Biggs backed a special treat every day and I found them all yummy. They helped us plan what to do while we were in Queenstown and gave us helpful traffic tips. The room was exceptionally clean and appeared to be very newly remodeled. I found the room to be great for one person but it might be a little tight for two people. The location is close to town but not in town which was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience, it was fantastic meeting and chatting with you and we look forward to hosting you again on the return leg of your journey. Due to the heritage nature of the building some aspects couldn't be changed, including room size. However guests have access to all the common areas of the property, including private lounge and kitchen, which hopefully compensates and deficiencies in room size.
