So clean, friendly and comfy. Lovely dining area. All sparkly for Christmas too. It’s like precovid times. Everyone so nice. The breakfast was more than plentiful and with more variety than I’ve seen in a long while. Super quiet no road noise.The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds and linens are the best. We go through here about 3 times a year and will definitely be staying here from now on.

Easy on and off highway, clean, safe. They are doing a good job of attempting to keep everyone safe. Hand sanitizer getting on and off elevator with signs encouraging use. They have found a way to offer hot breakfast, you ask for it and they serve it. Unfortunately it was not very good. The rooms are a good size with very comfortable beds and great shower.

Trash at hotel was not removed (inside room or the containers outside side entrance). We arrived late and my daughter did not get a chance to shower so I asked for clean sheets the next morning and was told we had to provide 24 hr notice for clean sheets !?! Quite frustrating. Getting ready to attend a funeral so my husband brought up a breakfast tray for me … it was still in the hallway 2 days later.
Juice machine at breakfast did not work and room next to us played music loudly past midnight (despite calls to front desk).

We were assured that we could extend checkout until 2PM and based our entire stay and choice of hotel around that as we were traveling for business with a pet. AFTER check-in we were informed that they wouldn’t honor this time. I don’t appreciate being lied to in order to get my business. Once in the room, we found a stale muffin in the floor, a dingy shower floor and shower without all parts secured which nearly resulted in an accident that could have been fatal. The individual who checked us in and out while not to blame for corporate lies, had absolutely no personality for customer service. In fact, they charged someone else’s room to our card on check in and I had to point out the error and have them correct it. I’ve been pleased with the stays in Charleston, WV at this hotel but had never tried another. I won’t stay outside the Charleston location again and I certainly won’t recommend this chain to anyone at any time going forward. Did I mention that when they called to ask about my stay, they were completely disrespectful with flippant remarks when I said my experience was not ideal. “Copy that,” is not a professional response. I was going to let it go until that call. As a result of their attitude there, I’m here leaving this review. Apparently others have had much better experiences. Sorry I can’t say the same.

I was scheduled to stay at Holiday Inn Express in Ripley, WV 1/13-1/15 for my step-son's birthday however, when we got there we were told the pool was closed for renovations and they don't allow parties. Neither of these things were told to me when I called on 11/9 to specifically ask about a pool party. I booked through booking.com and Rick at the hotel gave them a verbal agreement to refund 1 night (even though we didn't stay either night) however, no one will respond to booking.com in writing so that my refund can be issued. This has now been a week of me calling booking.com, the hotel directly and the 800 # with no results. Please advise what I need to do to get my agreed upon refund.

Nicely redecorated and spotlessly clean. Price was very good esp. with the AAA discount. King bed was comfortable, a selection of pillows firm and soft, were provided. The room was spacious and we got a nice night’s sleep. Complimentary breakfast was very good w a wide selection - including a western omelet, sausage gravy and biscuits, sausage patty, potatoes, etc. Only downside, as in most hotels, door slamming and extraneous phones ringing, noise in the corridors was evident; probably due to lack of insulation. Location allowed for Easy access to restaurants, groceries and gas.

They use this hotel as a construction crew quarters. Which means between 4:30am and 6:00am its a mass exodus of loud guys slamming doors and walking around like bulls in a china shop. At least stage these guys on the first floor so they dont wake up everyone below.

Room is ok but didn’t sleep due to dog barking past 1 am. Every time we thought the dog had stopped barking he’d start again. My husband called the desk and we didn’t hear the dog after that. Then at 6am someone was loudly banging stuff near our room. Wouldn’t stay here again. Just too much noise. Hotel was otherwise ok so if you’re a deep sleeper or bring ear plugs you should be ok. If hotels allow dogs I wish they’d periodically check to make sure they aren’t barking nonstop.

We booked this hotel solely because it had a pool. It advertises that it has a pool. I had promised my young granddaughters that after 12 hours in the car with their mom, me and fussy baby brother on trip home to MI from FL their reward would be to swim. We checked in, exhausted from being up since 4:30 am, about 6 pm, lugged everyone and everything up to the room. Then I took the girls down to check out the pool. CLOSED. I went to the desk where the clerk explained that their general manager who was the only one certified to open the pool had recently resigned, hence no pool. No empathy or regret or anything resembling being sorry to disappoint with two little crestfallen girls standing there, a stance she maintained throughout our interactions that resulted in us relocating to the Holiday Inn Expess & Suites in Mineral Wells 30 minutes away. There, the desk clerk Angel was wonderful and kind, the pool was functioning as advertised and the overall experience couldn’t have been more different from what happened at the Ripley properly. Highly recommend if wanting to stay at HIE&S in Ripley area, choose Mineral Wells.

Requested a room with roll in shower and instead got a room with a regular shower and glass doors and their excuse was they had trainees. AC ridiculous, you couldn't adjust the fan speed to help with noise. There was a right by drunk women in the hallway overnight that went on and on, TV in next room blaring, upstairs about ready to put a post it note saying get off her. When issues reported, got a whopping $30 off the room, not great for now being able to shower or sleep. Again no chair with ottoman or arms. It was convenient to grocery store and limited restaurants.

Yes, I would say that the hotel is very accessible. Wide corridors and ground floor rooms. Easy to get into the hotel from the car park.
