Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Historic, beautifully restored home with an interior designed with charm and comfort in mind. This place is clean, clean, clean! We enjoyed everything from luxuriously soft towels and bed linens to fresh baked cookies and refreshments on arrival. Nice touches like bottled water and fresh whole fruit in the room made us feel welcomed. We had a private bath with soaps and shampoos and they offer use of luxe cotton Chenille robes. At night, we took advantage of free WiFi and Netflix to watch a fun movie in the comfort of the living room, just like being at home. In the morning, we had a made-to-order breakfast with exactly what we like. Fruit was fresh and plentiful, eggs were hot, granola was outstanding... the sky was the limit. There's 24-hour coffee and tea service, other beverages in the refrigerator, onsite, free laundry facility, a really cute micro gift shop featuring locally handcrafted items that will be great reminders of your stay in Ravenswood. Don't miss swinging with your lover on the lovely and nostalgic front porch swing, admiring the flower garden, and taking a stroll in this quaint location that’s close to restaurants and the river. Who could ask for more?

I stayed here for 2 nights while working in the area. The place is very clean and quiet. Breakfast was cooked to order each morning and there were snacks and drinks (water/soda/coffee) available for the afternoon and evening. The house has a bit of history and character to it. You can learn more while relaxing in the various rooms on the main floor or talking with the host. The host was friendly, gracious, and a great chef. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Ravenswood Inn was the half way point on a trip from Michigan to North Carolina. My communication with both Steve and his wife before the trip went very well. We opted for the room with the on suite. We were asked to call about an hour before we arrived so one of them could meet us there. They don't live onsite. Steve was waiting on the porch when we arrived. He was very accommodating from the get go, asking if we wanted to go to the room or have a tour. We opted for the tour which was quite informative. The room was so lovely, impeccably clean and welcoming with fruit and tiny cakes from a local baker. In the kitchen were homemade cookies and coffee or tea whenever we wanted. We were the only ones staying in the house that night! A bonus for sure! We walked down to a great Mexican restaurant for dinner. We got to name the time for breakfast. Steve came over very early to accommodate us. The breakfast was very good. During breakfast we got to hear more of Steven's diverse life experiences. We highly recommend.

Welcoming, charming, and comfortable, from our initial phone contact with Steve when we made our reservation to Sabrina's gracious welcome that made us feel like old friends coming home. The inn is a beautifully restored Victorian home with every attention to detail, like lusciously comfy sheets, an excellent breakfast with WV maple syrup, and plenty of books, photos, and oral histories about the local area. Having the inn as a base during our single night's stay gave us a leg up on finding the best food in town, accessing local history, and even making contact with cousins who invited us to tour my family's ancestral farm. We're sorry we were able to stay only one night!

We found this to be a fantastic stop at the Ravenswood Inn on our trip through the area. Steve and Sabrina were super hosts - a short tour of the place started our stay followed by a walk to a restaurant. Breakfast was delicious and the bed and bath were comfy and clean. Would definitely stay again!

Everything previous reviewers have said is true. We arrived early and called to let them know we were there. We enjoyed swinging on the front porch admiring the flowers and obvious loving care of the property while we waited for Sabrina. She gave us the tour of the home carefully restored by her parents. Don't miss the cross stitch pieces done by Stephen's mother. We walked to the Mexican restaurant for an excellent breakfast and then went to Washington Park for a walk and time sitting on a bench watching river activity. Our stay in Captain's Quarters was wonderful with all the amenities mentioned by others. Stephen prepared a delicious breakfast for us the next morning. We would certainly stay again.

This place was phenomenal. I needed a night to myself. Away from life and kids and work. I just needed a place to go to recharge. I am a busy mother of six thar doesn't stop. So I snuck away and found this jewel. And they pampered me rotten. The inn was beautiful and relaxing. I sunk into the bed that night and slept so peacefully. I awoke to a huge delicious breakfast. Probably the best I'd had in years. The hosts were wonderful conversationalist, welcoming and informative. There is a river front park nearby, a coffee shop and restaurants. This is officially my little hideaway if i need to just take a break. I will definitely be back.

Wonderful historic B&B with excellent food and great hosts. Near the Ohio River , hiking and other outdoor activities.much, much better than hotels in Ripley. Stephen and Sabrina treat you like family. Lots of river and local history in the inn.
