Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived at Roseland on Friday June 23rd. When we checked in we were greeted by a guy named Matthew. He was beyond sweet and helpful. He gave us very helpful
Information about the campground and really made us feel at home. Our room was the Sewing room that was located in the restaurant. The girl working there was so nice and friendly. She introduced herself as LaLa and we had great conversations with her. So as you can see we were there for 15 mins and already felt at home and that everyone here treats you like family. The room was so spacious and clean. The whole weekend was full of fun activities, meeting new people, going to the pool and just relaxing. When these reviews say how the staff and guests are so nice, they are not kidding. Every single person we interacted with wether it was staff or guests were so nice and helpful. The drinks are very reasonably priced and The bartender Jaye was so sweet and always patient with all guests. Michele and Sam who worked the bar were so laid back and funny. They even have a black cat named Casper who is so friendly and sweet. We checked out on Sunday and were sad to leave this amazing establishment. We were nervous about the drive home and when Michele checked us out she gave us crystal clear directions that were spot on. We never really did a camping vacation but needless to say we already booked 2 more trips to Roseland and look for many many more fun times there. This is probably one of the best vacations we have ever been on!!!!

Just wanted to say had an excellent adventure here over Memorial Day Weekend! The facilities were well maintained and exceptionally clean. The new-ish pool area and bar were phenomenal!

But really, this review is about the staff and guests! Everyone, from the guests to the grounds crew, office staff, to the UTV riding garbage taker, to the restaurant staff, to the bartenders (expected😉) to the DJ, and everyone I forgot, were just super friendly and helpful!! They all genuinely wanted you to be there and have a great time. Plus the "tab system" is very helpful, and you don't need to carry a card or cash around all the time.

We stayed in a RV, the site had water/electric and was level. Very suitable for a mountain campground. The interior roads are narrow, so it is well suited to class B's and smaller C's. I'd call ahead for information with full on large Class A/C RV's.

All in all 5 stars! Can't wait for another trip!

We actually didn’t get to visit but we were scheduled to. My husband got sick and we had to cancel our reservation. The customer service was amazing. The man on the phone was so kind and understanding. We hope to visit soon. Thank you for the excellent customer service.

After going to Roseland for 13 hours years, I was asked to leave and never come back my membership suspended. This was because I helped a disabled ex Navy veteran move out of his cabin 707 after his lease ran out. So I guess I’m guilty by association because he was also suspended of his membership. But really it’s just as well because I was really sick and tired of their republican thrashing of my politics being a Democrat at the bar in public whenever the owners got drunk (which was often)
it got old years ago but I tolerated it. But no more. So thank you guys I appreciate the push out of your “resort” honestly. Roderick White-Parkersburg WV.

If your looking for an escape from the real world then this place has it all! You'll find what your looking for here. The property is BEAUTIFUL. The hiking trails are peaceful with lots of things to see. The amenities are top notch! The bars and night life are fun. The pool is big and plays great music. The restaurant is delicious and offers SO many options! We've met people from ALL over at Roseland. Made many many new friends. The management is so friendly and welcomed us like family.

Mother Nature may have been a little bipolar this weekend for Memorial Day. But we still had an awesome time at the Campground. I want to take the time to thank the owners in the staff for such a wonderful weekend. Im looking forward to coming back this summer and making more memories at Roseland!

This is my third (and likely last) year going to Roseland. I live in DC about a 6 hour drive from the camp. Although there are much closer resorts similar to Roseland (The Woods in P.A.), I have made the trek out to Roseland for the chill atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly, lets their hair down, and does whatever they please. I usually socialize poolside in the day, pre-game by a fire in the evening, and go to the bar in the evening before finishing things off at the hot tub or trip by the barn later at night.

The camp has three co-owners (two are partnered) and I often see them working away from dawn to dusk. Unfortunately, one owner (Troy) seems incapable of mixing business with pleasure. My partner and I had some confusion with a bunch of boys over the order of those waiting for a turn at the billards table. We worked it out though - they were going next and we would follow. All settled (so I thought). Apparently they were friends of the owner who came over several minutes after and drunkenly flipped out on me. He immediately came up to me and while pointing his finger in my face said "My house, my rules... they're playing next". Naturally I was a bit stunned and said "Excuse me?". His response was that if I didn't like it I could leave and before I could respond he threatened to call the police on me!! He clearly didn't like it when I questioned what grounds he had for calling the police. I also proceeded to ask him why as the owner he would randomly go up to a customer and begin a conversation so aggressively. That doesn't seem like a smart business practice to me or any other business owner I know of. I found one of the other owners to let him know my experience and he basically just listened and then walked away. The word "sorry" didn't come out of either owner’s mouth.

Long story short - I'm not sure if the owners are interested in ensuring their customers are having a positive experience as much as they are having fun with their friends. I am 28 years old, have traveled the world, and I have never once been kicked out of any establishment anywhere. If I can live in downtown DC and have no drama, I certainly don't need to drive 6 hours to the middle of nowhere, drop $400 to relax but instead be threatened by the drunken owner.

I don't expect much - just common courtesy. This owner doesn't have any. I'll save myself the drive and go somewhere that I'm appreciated next time.

We always welcome any constructive feedback from our guests and hope for a revisit to rectify the situation. Thankfully, this does not represent all of the feedback we receive and we hope to continue to meet and exceed our customers expectations! This campground is great, but there are three things that make it bad.

# 1 - Management - The Owner has a " My Way or the Highway Attitude" You can hear this from all of the seasonal campers. You get charged for everything. This camp is very expensive even to camp.

# 2 - The Road - The Road getting to this campground is very steep and scary, and the roads in the campgrounds are muddy, steep and not well taken care of.

# 3 - If your single and looking to hook up, forget it. this is a place for couples who have been together for a long time. The only people there hooking up are lets say " Not very pretty"

The noise from the refinery is terrible at the resort. The lights from the refinery fill the night sky and ruined the beauty. you have to fight the oil and construction trucks for the road all over the mountain
The place has been ruined. So very sad

The Oil Refinery business has diminished and we have had meetings with them and they have build sound barrier and buildings over any obstructions. The sounds of nature are more prevelant again and the roads have all been repaired! Come back and see us!

I had heard positive words about this campground in years past. This summer my partner and I decided to give it a try and stayed in a cabin. What an unfortunate disappointing trip it turned out to be! The first big problem is the pool is too small. Then there is the staff who seem to be very disorganized and unable to handle running the place. It is a large property that overall seems to need significant work done. We were also disappointed with the meals we paid for. The prices for everything seemed expensive for what litle we got out of the whole deal. We won't be going back.
