The new owners of the Inn were great! Personable and no request was too small. The room included breakfast. There is a light reception Happy Hour in the late afternoon with adult beverages and snacks. The rooms are very nice, maintaining the historic charm with modern amenities. The breakfast and service was nicely done with family receipts from the owners. They inn has a General store on the property that has special coffee and the best ice cream.
Both of the owners are vaccinated and keep the premise clean with available sanitizer.

The area is great for biking, walks in the woods/trails and in close proximity to the Trout Pond recreational area.

Drive is an easy two hour trip from Tyson's Corner, VA

My boyfriend and I were in need of a weekend getaway from D.C. and spent a night at the Inn at Lost River. It was everything you’d want in historic bed and breakfast - charming and comfortable in a picturesque setting. Lots of indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing and enjoying the views. We stayed in the Cranny Crow room upstairs - the bed was comfy and we had plenty of space with a sofa/sitting area. The breakfast was fabulous - everything was homemade and really delicious (especially the coffee cake!!!). Michael and Patrick were wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. They also gave us some great tips about hikes and things to do in the area. It was an easy and scenic drive from D.C., I will definitely come again!

The new owners Patrick and Michael were delightful. We enjoyed talking to them and having a welcome drink after arrival. They recommended eating at the Lost River Grill just a half mile down the road. I would also highly recommend eating there. After dinner we came back to the Inn and chatted with Patrick and Michael for a good while, learning their stories. I would highly recommend staying at the Inn and we can't wait for the general store & cafe to open. Our mushroom omelet for breakfast was phenomenal. We can't wait to go again next summer. We stayed in the Smokehouse and loved it.

Staying at the Inn is more than a vacation, it’s an experience. It’s a home away from home because of the hosts that run the place. Michael and Patrick make you feel like family coming to visit them. They are the perfect hosts cooking a delicious breakfast every morning. They are also locals and they can suggest various spots to explore. The Inn sits on many acres where you can find a tranquil spot to relax and meditate. Their place provides a beautiful backdrop for any occasion. The general store has a cafe where you can get unique, healthy and tasty meals after a day of hiking. Locals often come to the general store if you interested in meeting new people.

I just spent a weekend at the Inn with my dance group. We all left saying we cannot wait to be back. The owners took such good care of us, we truly felt pampered. Delicious fresh meals, super charming accommodations, a gorgeous setting and mostly, very welcoming owners. People who put people first.
Thank you Michael and Patrick, I wish you huge success and a very long run

If I could give this inn 10 stars I would! My husband and I stayed here for a dance weekend. The proprietors of the inn, Michael & Patrick, were beyond amazing! The food was scrumptious and the bed very comfortable. Patrick and Michael's attention to detail attests to their desire to make every guest feel special - from the ice frozen in the bottom of the fresh squeezed orange juice to keep it cold to the excellent Puerto Rican coffee served every morning. I highly recommend a stay at this wonderful bed & breakfast!

Patrick and Michael are the most hospitable inn keepers. Great conversation, helpful, flexible, friendly, and caring. It is very nice that they host wine and cheese every evening. I stayed in the Springhouse which was very comfortable with lots of room. The Lost and Found wood-fired pizza place is awesome.

We stayed at the Inn for a weekend family wedding nearby. Everything was exactly right - the rooms, the hosts, the lovely breakfasts, even the weather. Michael and Patrick were the perfect innkeepers: friendly, helpful, and, most importantly, calm and gracious. The main house is impeccable, as are the two outbuildings (our party occupied all the rooms.) I cannot recommend it highly enough for a comfortable, gracious stay. We would definitely stay there again.

It is a beautiful place in a great setting. The hospitality was wonderful. From the wine and snack tray to coffee and breakfast, everything was great. Our room was perfect and had a screened in porch. We also took advantage of the front porch on the house. The gift shop is amazing too, though we only checked out the first floor. We really enjoyed our short stay.

My wife and I just spent a week traveling West Virginia, including four nights at the Greenbrier, followed by a single night at the Inn at Lost River. With 20/20 hindsight, might have been better to spend four nights with Ted and Toni at the Inn at Lost River, followed by a single night at the Greenbrier. Their inn is wonderful, the setting tranquil, and the dinner and breakfast they prepared for us were both delectable. A wonderful place, with wonderful hosts!

Good Afternoon, We take all guests into consideration and accept children over 12 years of age. However we would welcome the opportunity to have you all visit the Lost River General Store and give apple slices for them to feed the sheep and burros next door. Thank you for your inquiry! Cheers, Toni
