Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The rooms at this motel are acually quite nice. What let it down was the location and the service. I got the feeling that the hotel is in a bad part of town. At night, there are some odd characters hanging around.

The remote in my room wasn't working so I went up and asked the staff about it. A blonde lady said she would come down to look at it and bring some extra towels down - never happened.

In the future, I'll be picking a higher quality hotel. Maybe something closer to the casino.

The company I work for has an account with Motel 6 account so I stay at Motel 6 in different parts of the country several times per month. I have stayed at some really nice and some not very nice Motel 6. This one is near the bottom of the list.

Just pass it by if you are in a big truck. There is no real truck parking here.

First complaint would be the location. If you are coming from the west, the entrance is immediately on your left when you merge from the exit ramp. Very difficult to get to if the highway out front is busy.

Second, I was told there was truck parking available. Upon arrival I find that really isn't the case. I am parallel parked in Bob Evans parking lot. If they are very busy in the morning I am going to have a very difficult time getting out of here.

Front desk agent was polite. (Only positive part about this stay.)

Third issue was upon entering the room there is a strong stale musty smell. The floor is laminate and you can tell the floor slopes downhill. The bed is as hard as the floor if not worse.

I will not be back to this motel 6.

We have stayed here a few times over the last several years and it has gone quickly down hill , this was our last stay. As soon as the lights came on all you could see was a floor covered in hair like it had been washed and waxed onto the floor, Then we discovered there was one set of towels for us to share (asked for another set told none available?) Empty tp roll and no extra in room, desk said they would send us some( never showed up). No coffee, fridge, or microwave in room and only one cup to share. Our entertaiment for the evening was drug deals on one side and orgies on the other . That was topped off with a fight outside our window that resulted in a huge crack and the desk clerk telling us"that happens sometimes". No offer for a refund, different room or even an apology. i can say howver there were no bugs as of yet anyway.

I have literally never stayed anywhere worse and I’ve stayed at many of the lower priced lodging options across the country. This place requires a cash deposit upon check in, which I’ve never encountered before. After they screwed up our reservation themselves, a terrible person at the front desk told me “If You don’t like it, you can pack your stuff and leave” when I was frustrated over their already intense lack of professionalism. When they realized their own employee didn’t charge my card, a man comes screaming about it saying the person who checked us in is losing her job. Because I’m a glutton for punishment we decided to stay our second day of our reservation because of a lack of availability of other lodging options. Later in the day as my wife and I were preparing to head to a wedding, an employee just unlocks and walks into our room, and says her clipboard is marked that we checked out. After that, we went to the wedding, came back in the early evening hours and got the heck out before spending the night in that shady place again. Sleep in a rest area in your car before you spend 1 minute in this place. I can’t stress that enough.

I was told the price was $70.15 including taxes. I got charged $78.40, and was not given my receipt. I asked for a non smoking room, and when I checked in it reeked of cigarettes. I turned on the heat and left for dinner, hoping the air circulating would clear out the tobacco smell. When I returned, the room smelled better, but when I turned down the bedding, I discovered dirty sheets, and there were spots on the top spread. I called the front desk to change rooms & was told they could not do that after 1 hour, and refused to return my money. There was no other staff than the front desk clerk, and she brought fresh bedding, but I had to change it. The walls were so thin that I could hear everyone returning from the casino up to 2am. To further interfere with sleep, the heater kicked on every 15 minutes, and made a long growl each time it shut off. There was very little sleep, which is all I wanted the room for. What a waste of money! I should have slept in my car.

Seriously. Health inspectors should shut this place down. Water damage and mold in bathroom. Wiped boogers all over the walls and headboard. Peeling floors. Just filthy. I stayed for a few hours just to rest my eyes and then got the hell out. DISGUSTING!

The worst room I have ever stayed in. Heater howled all night the floors peeling up. No way should choice even carry this joint. The staff the most under trained. Bathrooms were disgusting the tv selection had no prime coverage. I and my wife are going to try and get some sort of comp return on this stay if not I will definitely not choose choice again

This is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Floors are dirty (no carpet because of meth busts) beds are very uncomfortable. Sheets are old and have holes. It appears the bedspreads are not washed after every checkout because they are stained bad. There are bugs and spider webs in the rooms and the toilets/bathrooms are nasty. The toilet had poop on the seat. They are in desperate need of a manager that cares and will check after the housekeepers to make sure the rooms are cleaned. Also need security because too many parties and meth busts there! Really, the only good thing about this place is the location!..

We booked a room at this place because we were traveling with our little dog. HOWEVER, after checking in I went to the room and almost fell over from the STINK when I opened the door. Went back to the desk and complained and was offered another room. Guess what, yes it STINKS too! In addition, my wife checked the mattress and it was beyond gross. The mattress was stained, dirty along with questionable stains in the corner of the mattress at the seams. I went back to the front desk and received a full refund. We were going to sleep in our car if we had to because there was no way we were staying at this place. The front desk guy was Extremely friendly and helpful and it was not his fault this place is a pig pen. We found a room at the Holiday Inn in South Charleston, on 2nd Ave. The price was about $99 plus $25 for the dog however it was well worth it. Take our advice, go to the Holiday Inn. It's very upscale and well worth the money.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Your feet will be black if you dare walk on the room floor without shoes or socks. There is no coffee maker or clock. Housekeeping (if you call them that) took towels out of our room and not only did not clean the room, but did not replace the towels. When I called the front desk for new towels I was told that she does not have them. That I needed to go outside and find a housekeeper and they would give me some. Really? That is my job as a customer to hunt down someone to get towels that should have been replaced to begin with? What a moron! A friend's room had a toilet that did not work/flush and refill with water and they never did fix it! This place needs new management and staff all the way around!!
