Great time was had by all. Places for a picnic and well kept by volunteers. Love the history. Beautiful view from the inside observatory with coast guard history and Lewis and Clark history and artifacts downstairs. Could easily spend hours there. Hands on exhibits.

We had one of the FHU sites with 50, 30, 20 amp service. Sites are very spacious with lots of room to spread out. Easy maneuverability within the park. Some sites are sunnier than others; ours was shady for most of the day (site 10). We had an end spot so we got extra wide area for our dogs to play around in. The sewer set up was a little awkward in that it was about 8 inches above ground level so you have to play around with the hose to flush everything out at the end of your stay. The beach was the star attraction for us. Tons of room for our dogs to run around; the surf was amazing. The washrooms and showers are excellent for a state park- very clean. Our site was not long enough for our truck and trailer so we had to disconnect and park a little sideways but there was plenty of room to do that. No service whatsoever except radio.

Very clean park and it was so very close to the beach. The beach was beautiful with lots of driftwood. This park was family friendly, kids just loved riding their bikes in the park. The one thing you should know is showers are $.75 for 3 minutes.

Had we known how sterile most RV parks in the U.S. are, we would have stayed in this beautiful park for weeks instead of days. The scented pines offer privacy between sites and fragrance and there are numerous trails; but the best part is that from most sites it is less than a 3 minute walk to a stunning beach that goes for miles. The unique circular layout of sites provides optimum distance on all sides--there is always a round natural area in the centre and plenty of trees and shrubs elsewhere. All sites are spread out along the ocean side and there are no noisy adjacent highways or roads so other than the sound of the waves, it is absolutely silent. We walked with our dogs for miles on an almost deserted beach. Washrooms and showers were very goodThis is what camping should be about but rarely is. It just doesn't get any better.

Loved our time at cape disappointment in cabin 2. We had a great view of the lake. The restrooms were kept clean and the park was well maintained and beautiful. The camp store was well stocked for a couple of supplies that we had forgotten. We hiked to the lighthouse and interpretive center. Loved the beaches and trails. Oh we did get cell service which previous reviewers said was not possible. Wonderful long weekend with friends!!

Spent one night in this campground in the shoulder season. We pulled in around 9pm, picked a site and set up the tent. Paid for the site in the morning. The staff was super friendly. We got a site with an ocean view and got to listen to the waves all night. The showers were 50 cents for 3 minutes with good water pressure and hot water. The bathrooms were generally clean.
Took chairs onto the beach in the morning for breakfast. Stayed the next night on the other side of the river at Ft. Stevens. If you are choosing between the two, stay here, it is a much better campground, more privacy in the sites, friendlier staff. Breezier sites mean fewer bugs.
Did the "hike" to the lighthouse as well as spent some time on the beach. This is simply a BEAUTIFUL location! Highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I we're excited to get a spot to stay here. Park is quite good size, with multiple camping areas. The beach is in walking distance from most of the spots, Love that you can go to different spots in the park, check out different areas of the beach. Love getting pics of the Lighthouse's, So many photogenic spots. Park is kept very clean, Restrooms were some of the cleanest I've seen at parks. The Park Rangers are friendly and helpful. Saw plenty of deer, racoons, Blue Heron, Red Tail Hawks. The Sunsets can be amazing!! We plan to come back for sure, but place books up quickly, So plan ahead. We we're here in the Fall, Had pretty decent weather for most of our stay, Last day rained pretty good, but when it's stormy , Is the time to get some great wave action below the Light Houses.

Reserve well in advance to assure a camping spot here, or to rent a simple yurt shelter. You can hike along the beach, or through the forest to the historic lighthouse, or even via a trail that takes you all the way into Ilwaco for a meal of fresh fish (or a fishing trip to catch your own). You can also get great pizza at Serious Pizza, right at the park entrance. Ilwaco is a working town, with an interesting history of involvement in sustainable community development projects. While you're in the area, also consider hiking the loop route (gently, and without dogs) in fabulous Ledbetter National Wildlife Refuge at the north end of the peninsula. Or take a side trip to nearby Astoria on the Oregon side of the Columbia River.

We love the WA state park system, and were pleased with this park. The campgrounds and overall park are neat and clean, and are well maintained.
There is a great view of the Pacific, 180 degrees up and down the coast. The water is rough and dangerous, and comes crashing onto the beach. Beware of this and do not swim in the ocean here!!
There are many hikes and trails to enjoy, as well as an eight mile paved trail for cyclists and walkers.
If you plan to visit the area, make sure you stop at Serious Pizza, a small restaurant and general store combined. The owner is a delight, and the pizzas are made fresh in-house. There are vegan and gluten free pizzas on the menu, and it is a pleasure to know the restaurant provides options for those who may be challenged with regular foods.
We enjoyed a large pizza which had a perfect thin crust, with just the right amount of burnt edges. The lady who makes the pizza sure knows how to make perfect pizzas! It was fresh and the toppings covered the crust without being too heavy.
The restaurant and restroom were clean. We would eat here again without a doubt.

Nice little walk with great views and an old light house at the top of the trail. You can't enter the light house but is still cool to see and take some great pictures. The views of the waves smashing into the cliffs and the open waters are beautiful.
