Semiahmoo Resort Golf & Spa is nestled in a serene location that travelers find ideal for its stunning water and mountain vistas. The renovated rooms are generally celebrated for their cleanliness, although some guests have encountered inconsistencies.
While the cozy atmosphere and festive decorations are highlights for visitors, the value proposition has been questioned, with many finding amenities and dining overpriced. The range of available activities is appreciated, but issues with maintenance and service have clouded some guests' experiences.

Detailed Reviews
So I was a bit nervous to stay here due to some bad reviews I read but I wanted to see for myself and not miss out on a nice stay. From check in to check out my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and check in was seamless! Our room was the perfect size with an amazing view of the bay and Canada. We stayed in the Queen premium with the balcony but I will agree with some of the reviews that the balcony is a bit squishy with the chairs they have on there. The sunsets were beyond words! I love the chairs they have on the beach to be able to sit by the water to watch the sunsets or relax.
In our room, I saw an adjoining door, which made me a bit nervous in regards to hearing our Neighbors, but our stay was quiet the whole entire weekend! Barely any noise! The bathroom has good toiletries, although the soap bar was an interesting shape that my daughter had trouble using, so luckily we brought our own. I read in others’ reviews Complaints about not having hot water in the bathroom but we had super hot water so no problems there. The only thing I don’t like about the room was no microwave (there were microwaves by the ice vending machines) and the bedding sucked.
The food at Packers was REALLY GOOD and the view was to die for. They had a live band playing outside which made it fun!
We tried out the pool and didn’t know it was salt water so that was a pleasant surprise. It’s a really big, nice pool but only problem is it’s also pretty deep so the kids usually all congregated near the steps where it was more shallow. The hot tub was big and spacious too.
We didn’t get to try out the theater due to timing but they had some really great movies playing when I asked. They also had plenty of bikes to use but we didn’t get to use them this time. I have no complaints about this place, my daughter and I absolutely enjoyed our stay and we’ll definitely be back!!

We have been coming this locale for walks about once a week for several years, and have also eaten several times at the pub. Since we haven't stayed at the hotel, I wouldn't comment on the "needs renovation" business, but the pub is a good place to take visitors and you might even meet some new friends there from across the border, etc.
I do remember a funny incident at the front desk: I came up one time and asked about the room-rates. The employee behind the desk said I could look them up on-line. Wha? Wrong answer. That should be at her fingertips, or even in a brochure. You can do better than this.
Lunch at PP is reasonable and you do have the view across the bay. In fact, whether the hotel management is good or bad, the location can't be beat. The marina across the street also has a small store and eatery, mostly for the boat-owners, but worth keeping in mind.
Since Beach Street in White Rock can be a bit congested, this location provides a good antidote to that.
Bon appetit.

Hello Kenpasha, We're thrilled that walks to enjoy the stunning view from our beach have brought you to us time and again. Our chef was especially delighted to hear you've enjoyed our mouthwatering dishes. It's always a special treat to welcome locals who have brought with them area visitors to soak up the tranquil vibes our location is so loved for; thank you for allowing us to be a part of your quality time with friends. We're very concerned to hear of the service you received once when asking about rates at the resort's front desk. Their team is well known for exceptional service and dedication. Please rest assured we are sharing your feedback with them right away. We hope to soon see you again for another gourmet meal or during a refreshing stay at the resort.

For the price you pay per night, I would expect a microwave in the room and not down the hall in the vending area that didn't have any vending machines; that there would be a pad of paper and a pen in the room, and since there are 2 restaurants in the hotel, that room service would be offered. The food at Packers was okay but 2 of our items were overdone and had burnt edges. The room was comfortable and the location beautiful.

Positives - great location and very friendly and helpful staff
Negatives - mattresses/pillows old and uncomfortable, serious lack of dining options and activities due to Covid19. No room service or replacement of towels, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. Have to go to front desk to get it yourself. One available restaurant is very expensive and has a lack of seating. Dinner served in a cardboard box for you to take somewhere else. Resort doesn't offer enough quality or amenities t justify the nightly cost of @$200/night. Probably better at a Hampton Inn.

Hello D4686FFscottc, While we're happy to learn our beautiful coastal location and our team's dedication to excellent service impressed, we're truly saddened to hear your overall stay fell short. We're delighted to offer our guests several dining options at our two restaurants, one at the resort and one at the golf course, including full-service tableside dining, quick service dining, and to-go options. We are carefully listening and taking your feedback regarding our mattresses, pillows, and dining into careful consideration. As you noticed, our highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of our guests and team members. We're truly sorry the additional precautions detracted from your visit. We've been working diligently towards ensuring a stay with us is as amazing as ever during these unprecedented times. And we'd like to apologize if you were unaware of the many activities still available to our guests. Please rest assured, we will be addressing this with our team right away. Our room smelled of urine and the shower curtain liner was disgusting. Lost my cell phone and multiple staff members were uninterested and uncreative in helping me to find it. They wouldn't put me in touch with security or whomever cleaned the ballroom only "file a claim and sorry have a nice day" I know it was a busy morning at check out ..but just a little extra effort or appearance of effort would have been great.

The resort is perfect for social distancing. The giant outdoor patio and grass that leads to the beach was perfect for my family to play, explore and eat outdoors. We rode bikes with my 4yr old on his bike and the baby in the resort provided trailer. We rarely sow any other guest at elevators only in the lobby and everyone was wearing mask and keeping space. The room was clean. Would definitely recommend to others with young kids who need an escape.

I would not recommend this for pets. My small dog got very sick from eating old (huge) kibble she found left in the room from a prior guest. I wasn’t expecting to have to clean the room or search the floor myself … When I reported it to the front desk no one seemed to care, and I still haven’t heard back from the survey feedback I did weeks ago. Cleanliness is not a priority here, and considering “pet” rooms are charged a cleaning fee, they should at least make sure they clean leftover food and dog hair from behind furniture, etc, between guests. I also found the towels to be dirty.
When we checked in, I had to ask four times about the dog package amenities I’d paid extra for, no one seemed to know anything about them. They are advertised on socials and on the website … I didn’t end up receiving what’s advertised but was still charged the package price, much much more than the simple pet fee. These days, most hotels (and all “resorts”) have pet packages, and what was finally delivered not only did not match what is listed on the website, but the bed and huge dish was dirty. Extremely disappointing considering the other dog friendly options in the immediate area.
As a solo traveler, being put in a connecting room without being asked first is a red flag that safety isn’t thought about. My reservation was clearly made for one person, and clearly not with another party. The room I was moved to had an external door that didn’t stay closed unless it was fully locked, and the lock itself was flimsy. It’s a public beach, and people were (loudly) out until 3am the night we stayed - very off-putting. Supposedly there are quiet hours from 10pm on, but they aren’t enforced at all, inside or outside.
This “resort” is more of a motel that happens to have a great location and overcharges quite a lot - no room service, no daily hskp, loud all the time, restaurant experience was poor, etc.
I’ve waited a few weeks for follow up and gotten zero, which would never happen at a “resort” or accommodation worth this price point.
Better to stay anywhere else and just drive to this beach!

The area is beautiful and the resort looks nice from the outside. Lots of kids made it a bit less relaxing with all the noise, but it’s summer and I can’t fault kids for playing. My biggest gripe is the lack of hot water. We got massages (mediocre), and the spa facilities were not that nice—also the steam room and sauna were closed, which we weren’t informed of at booking or arrival—so we went to shower in our room, only to find there was no hot water. Called guest services and they said just run the sink and shower at full and flush the toilet a few times and that should bring up some hot water. She also said ‘it’s an old building and everyone showers at once’ so that’s why we didn’t have hot water. Did that and got some tepid water in the sink but ended up with an ice cold shower. Tried twice more at different times that day and had no hot water any of the times. Called again and maintenance was sent up—they did the exact same thing except they flushed probably 10 times, and then said hot water is up. Took a shower and had about 5 minutes of tepid water before it was gone again. I find a lack of hot water at a resort completely unacceptable and would not recommend staying here because of it. I’ve since spoken with other who had the same experience over the years, so this is clearly a known and longstanding issue that they don’t intend to actually fix. Also expect a lot of noise of Friday/Saturday nights as it seems it’s a party spot for college students to pile 10+ people into one room…

Semiahmoo Resort needs some major updates. I paid $430/night for a double queen room, water view. Sadly, I was very disappointed in my stay based on the price I paid. The room itself needs some updates. Blinds on windows are broken, carpet is old and dirty, bathroom needs new flooring and shower, etc. For a $430 room, I expect a luxury resort feel. Unfortunately, dismissing the water view and location - the hotel itself feels more like a Best Western hotel. Which is definitely not worth the money I paid. Semiahmoo also charges a DAILY RESORT FEE of $50. The only benefit I really use is the parking and WiFi, that's it. We were there in February, so the other amenities that are included in the resort fee such as bike rentals, pool use, smores, was not available due to weather. The $50 daily resort fee was a joke. It was also frustrating how there was also no daily housekeeping service. They had big trash bins and towel racks in the hallways for guests to use and dump trash. I honestly felt like I was back at home.....not at a $430/night hotel. As a side note, there are also A LOT of families and kids. I was there with my family so it was great, but I would not recommend this hotel if you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway. The location for Semiahamoo is great, but they have a lot of work to do in terms of the actual property and the nightly rates. Not even close to a luxury-type resort.

This place is a paradise facing Canada border!
They have almost everything inside the resort like bike, camp fires, games, proper chairs and seatings near the shore, restaurants with water view, pool, spa, gym etc etc.
This is a must visit place for summer in WA.
They can improve their room amenities by adding microwave in each room, updating the bathrooms and definitely need to work on housekeeping and room cleanliness.
