Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an amazing visit and cannot wait to return. The gentleman that checked us in when we arrived was friendly and super attentive. He took the time to explain all that the property had to offer, along with area attractions and restaurants. We had a one bedroom unit and it was perfect. Beautifully decorated and had every amenity we could desire. It is great having space to spread out. We enjoyed using both the indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. The property is secluded and beautifully landscaped.

We stayed this week. Hotel is slightly sprawling but nice enough. Our room was clean and sort of quiet. Outside was quiet but the adjoining room was maddening. The family next door would wake up and we’d first hear the kids screaming and then the dad would start coughing and oh lord, no sleeping through that. The soundproofing between rooms with adjoining doors is pretty poor. Also, as Platinum Bonvoy people we were disappointed that there is no breakfast nor is there any sort of benefits to guests. It’s a pretty property but not luxurious.

We found ourselves in Colonial Williamsburg, with the day growing short and no place to stay. As we are regulars at Marriott properties we did a quick search and found this location. We didn't even know that this type of facility even existed, and were pleased to find it so close. The Manor Club is a sprawling complex of rooms, suites and apartments which are used for nightly and short stays, like we used it, and for longer vacation visits which we learned after speaking with the young man who checked us in. We had single room, pretty much the well appointed room you will find in the Marriott properties. The on-site food options include their Bistro 1699, the Express Marketplace in the lobby, and the Grille and Bar by the pool, which must be quite a perc in the warmer month; certainly not in February. The other amenities are too numerous to mention and should be reviewed on their web site. The whole complex is expansive with 11 different buildings laid out throughout, and all designed to reflect the historic colonial period of the area. We will absolutely use this Club offering again.

We stayed here in a one bedroom unit at Marriott Manor Sequel through a getaway with our timeshare and had a wonderful vacation. The resort is meticulously manicured, and the room was updated with modern furniture in good condition. Having a full, well stocked kitchen is so helpful with a family, as is having a washer and dryer in the unit. Our kids slept on the sofa bed with no problems. There were plenty of extra pillows. We spent a good deal of time at the resort because we have a young baby who napped, and our kids took advantage of the pools, splash pad, playground, and recreation room (which was fantastic when it rained), and our screened in balcony. The recreation room had a play kitchen that our two daughters loved, while our son was drawn to the video games. There was a movie theater on site that we unfortunately didn't take advantage of but we saw the staff setting up to host movies with popcorn- so fun! The recreation room also had craft kits you could buy for a nominal fee. Our daughter enjoyed taking one back to our room and painting a bird house. Parking was okay, but easier on some days than others. There is room for improvement in a few areas. The resort was visibly understaffed on certain days of the week. Our toilet overflowed the first night, and it felt like forever until a staff member could help us. It also took a long time to request fresh towels (we typically prefer not to utilize housekeeping. We reuse our towels for several days and then ask to replace them). The garbage disposal back flowed into the other side of the sink every time we used it, and the dishwasher was broken. Also the downside of the beautiful private community in which Manor Colony sits is that driving to any restaurants, colonial Williamsburg, grocery stores, etc takes a decent amount of time. With that being said, these were minor hiccups in our stay and we would return. It was really a perfect place for a family that prioritizes amenities. As much as we like to go out and experience the destinations we visit, we are in a season of life where we spend a considerable amount of time on resort property.

Wonderful property in a beautiful setting far enough out to be quieter but still close to everything you need. We stayed in the 2 BR, 2 BA condo. It was beautiful, clean and well appointed. The amenities were great and overall it was a great getaway. Would come back again and would highly recommend.

It’s nothing special and lots of little annoyances that added up to a mediocre experience :( room was very basic, like a Fairfield but without the free breakfast. There is no housekeeping at all, both even to take out the trash which we were not informed of. Our room wasn’t ready when we tried to check in even though we were there almost 2 hours after check-in time and the front desk staff wasn’t very apologetic nor could they give an estimate of when it would be ready. Overall, the front desk staff was rude and disinterested. The bright light was the activities center that the kids loved and the staff there was great. But, we won’t be back as this was not the Marriott service we know we can get elsewhere. Disappointing.

They treat you like family. Brayden solves problems like you’re a VIP. Beautiful setup in the rooms. Lots of space. Actually able to relax when you’re there. We are a family of 6 and the two bedroom villa includes TWO bathrooms and a washer & dryer.

Just finished a 7 night stay at the Marriott's Manor Club at Ford's Colony. We had a two bedroom unit - it was in great condition and very clean. As part of the stay, I was given six free rounds of golf - ended up using five of the six rounds. Two downsides - one in control of the Marriott and one is in control of the golf course. We had view of the first hole at the Blue Herron Golf course - but every morning, the grounds crew would come and blow off the green - using around 6:45 am - very annoying. Didn't last long, but it woke us up. The second thing is that the pump for the hot tube could be heard throughout the property - kept us from enjoying the deck - it had a high pitched howl - also annoying. All in all, a great stay.

Had great 7 night stay in a two bedroom villa. Villa was clean and very comfortable it had full kitchen which was well equipped and plenty of supplies(dishwasher tablets, bin bags, kitchen roll etc), washer and dryer was located just off one of the bedrooms. Beds were very comfortable and showers had good water pressure. The whole complex was very clean and well kept and staff were friendly and helpful, pool area was very nice and pool was a nice temperature only downside was it needed a few more sunbeds for guests to use. Great location for visiting Williamsburg attractions and restaurants and it is about 50mimutes drive from Richmond and Virginia Beach which we decide to visit during our stay, I would definitely recommend staying at Manor Club and hope to visit the area again.

My husband and I just returned from five nights at this resort. While the one and two-bedroom villas may be fine, when you try to book they suddenly offer a “studio” villa as the only vacancy. Don’t be fooled and stay somewhere else instead. This “studio” is nothing more than a cramped and tiny hotel room with barely acceptable amenities. Because we are Vacation Club members, there wasn’t even any housekeeping service for us. My complaints received sympathy responses but there was “nothing available “ except the dumpy little room. Stay somewhere, anywhere, else if the only thing you are offered is the “studio”. This resort has only a small Bistro with a limited menu, open only noon-8:30 for food, so the kitchens offered in the villas are a must to be comfortable at this resort. Sadly, the “studio” does not offer a viable opportunity to store, prepare, or clean up after anything. It is nothing but a hotel room, and neither a comfortable nor a spacious one at that. Insult to injury: our bed mattress was terrible. It visibly sagged to the middle. Avoid this place.

I am sorry to learn of your disappointment with your visit to the Marriott’s Manor Club at Ford's Colony. While we do have many guests who enjoy their visit at the resort location, there are many different resort locations in the Vacation Club Collection with an array of offerings depending on our Owner’s selection and I hope that you will find another in which will meet your expectation. I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and I again regret your disappointment.
