I can't contain my excitement when it comes to the Rappahannock River Campground—it absolutely deserves a stellar five-star review! This place is an absolute delight, offering a fantastic range of activities that cater to various interests. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the outhouses, providing a touch of convenience amidst nature. The camp store is a true gem, stocked with an impressive selection of supplies, and the added convenience of purchasing clean and dry wood through Venmo was a brilliant touch. The staff went above and beyond, displaying genuine friendliness and helpfulness throughout our stay. The owner's personal attention made us feel truly welcomed. Even though the river was a bit low toward the end, tubing still turned out to be an absolute blast. I must also mention the user-friendly online booking system, making it a breeze to secure our spot. Don't miss the chance to create cherished memories at the Rappahannock River Campground—it surpassed all our expectations! It's the perfect place to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature and your loved ones.

Spent two nights at RRC with our three kids under 11. We had a campsite in the pines, close to a pit privy and water spigots. Turned out to be a great spot that felt spaced enough away from other campers during the busy weekend. Our spot was about a 1/4 mile walk down to the river which was shallow enough for all our kids to splash around in for a while. We also booked a tubing trip down the Rappahanick River. Since the water levels were low and we were traveling with younger kids, they suggested the shorter 2 mile/3 hour trip. Definitely a unique, rustic and lazy river experience! We enjoyed being provided a cooler tube and lashings to keep the tubes together. The mellow rapids towards the end of the trip were a fun surprise. The owners and staff are awesome and very accommodating! Looking forward to more relaxing camping here in the future!

We moved to the area recently and were looking for a campground. This place was great. It was quiet, and our medium-sized campsite was perfect for our family of 5 without feeling too cramped. We got an end site and felt very private, which was lovely.
We took a river canoe trip in the morning, which was tricky since the river was so low. They warned us beforehand that it might be a difficult trip, and it certainly was. I'd just beware of canoeing and maybe opt for tubing if you have young kids with you like we did.
Overall, the kids loved it, and we're already trying to plan another trip.

The Rappahannock River Campground is perfect for families and couples! We took our kids here years ago. The river is shallow by the campsite so they could run and splash and play on the river rocks next to our site (42). You can go hiking in the area as well.

The two of us spend this past weekend there.

The campsite is clean and prepped for tent camping and sitting by the fire! The showers were great too!

The kayaks provided were perfect! They drove us up river which gave us 3 hours of time kayaking, swimming and enjoying the river. There were even a few shallow rapids!

This is a perfect place to spend a weekend in nature!

Quiet, beautiful, wooded, No bugs at all, camp store with ice, hot showers, beautiful river sites. Very spacious, clean & relatively private. Easy to access. Tents only which is nice to listen to nature & not generators. Saw deer, fox, birds, squirrels, possum’s & a variety of fresh water fish. If you buy a fishing license, you can enjoy some catch and release in the river, or the stocked catfish pond. Tubing trips also an option. The rock hunting was my favorite! Outstanding place to go rock hounding! This has been one of our favorite places to ever camp! We will definitely return again and again!!! In fact, we loved it so much we actually extended the trip an extra day, because we just didn’t want to leave!!!

Our 2nd annual trip! Both times have been stellar. We were able to call and get recommendations for the quiet/secluded parts of the campground (not going to share our secret spot!). Had the whole area to ourselves and a nice shady spot.

I don't know how they do it but both times there have been virtually no mosquitoes!!!! So rare in Virginia!!!

The other big draw is the wonderfully gentle river on site. Nice and calm for our little kids to float around in. I saw a bald eagle fly overhead - first one I've ever seen in my life! Afterwards I delighted in the nice, hot, fantastic water pressure shower!

Our group loved our extra large spot on the River! The campground is clean and quiet and the river is very shallow and clear waters! It was a very hot weekend so we spent lots of time floating and relaxing in the cool and shallow waters! Only complaint was the outhouses 💩🙊... Showers have great water pressure! Hope to be back!

Had a wonderful time taking a tubing trip hosted by Rappahannock River Camping. Erik was great. The route is a short drive from the campground and ended 4.5 hours back at the campground. Beautiful day with my bride and grandson. We would recommend to families and small or large groups.

My family has been going to this campsite for generations. Its primitive, quite, tucked away from the busy world. Really lets you get back to nature and a nice area of the river to tube and shallow swim with the kids. The owners are just lovely wonderful people. We mostly just pay to park there and pull our canoes out, but have been coming for years. If your looking for peace and quite, this is your place.
