Detailed Reviews
Our stay at the Stone Store Lodge was absolutely amazing! I got ready for my wedding day at the Lodge with my family and friends. I woke up in the morning to a breathtaking view of the forest out my window and it really calmed my nerves for the day ahead. It was the perfect backdrop for our photographer to take photos of our hair and make-up being done and putting my wedding dress on. The accommodation was clean, roomy and inviting in a spectacular natural landscape. The beds were also very comfortable. I would return to stay here anytime, I wish I had booked to stay longer!

+1
The room was private and has a lovely view of the tropical landscape. The home has a large shared kitchen and living space which was nice to lounge in. Breakfast supplies were provided and we made our own with nice fresh ingredients. All was clean, friendly and well located within walking distance to a couple of nice restaurants. We enjoyed a lovely hike to waterfalls right from the door and loved that we could walk to the bar and get pizza. We enjoyed a day trip to Russell and would highly recommend.

Can’t begin to say how much we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful accommodation. We had a large airy room with balcony and the use of gardens and sitting areas. Great breakfast included. Wish we had booked to stay longer!

A professionally run lodge with a friendly atmosphere. Clean, modern property located five minutes from central Kerikeri and two minutes from the historic Stone Store. More than happy to maintain the perfect score rating for Richard and his team.

Thank you for a lovely night at Stone Store Lodge. It was so peaceful. Gemma was very hospitable and made a lovely breakfast. It felt like you were a bird up in the trees. Even the rain added to the ambience.

I was recently at the Lodge for a weekend with two of my colleagues and we all had a relaxing and enjoyable time, wanting to come back sometime soon with our significant others to share the wonderful experience. Richard (the owner) makes a wonderful cooked breakfast with fresh produce from the local farmers market (if you get up early enough you can go with him) and excellent coffee from his espresso machine. The house is modern with wonderful views and it was easy to make ourselves at home. The rooms are huge and well equiped, with large windows overlooking the valley and dense bush. The king sized bed was super comfortable, and I loved that all the rooms had a private deck to enjoy the morning sun from. The location is off the beaten track but still close to all the action. We walked to dinner one night to the 'Landing' great food by-the-way. Richard was also happy to make recommendations on things to do and assist with bookings. Only if it wasn't so far away I would be back there again this weekend. Do yourself a favour and stay at this wonderful lodge to make your trip to this part of NZ memorable.

My wife and I just completed a three night stay at the Stone Store Lodge and we second all of the great things that have already been said in the other reviews. The lodge is a beautiful place to stay when visiting the Bay of Islands. Richard is a wonderful host. Not only does he prepare a delicious breakfast each morning but he also is full of great advice about where to visit and where to have dinner. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay in his beautiful home and would go back again if ever visiting t he area. All of the pictures on the website are accurate.

My wife and I just loved this little place. It is within walking distance of the Famous Stone Store. There are multiple walking trails and a wonderful restaurant named the Plough and Feather just minutes away. The walking trails are great but travelers must be made aware they can be difficult due to the steep terrain in the area. We used this location for my private flying exploits. Yes there's a small airfield 10 minutes from the lodge.

Beautiful ambience and excellent facilities. The host Richard was charming and knowledgeable and couldn't do enough to make our stay as good as it could be. Highly recommended if you want somewhere a little different, but top quality.
