Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did a weekend of camping here. Beautiful big grounds and on multi level so you don’t feel crowded.

Best campsites are the non powered ones down by the river.

Facilities are well stocked and kept very clean.

Despite being close to town the camp feels green, lush and secluded.

Pets are welcome too which is awesome.

We will be back

Stayed one night to make the trip to Marsden Cross. Motel unit was roomy and comfortable with a great view over bush. Not too far from town and away from the main road so was quiet. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for three nights in room 25. It was at the end of the block with parking in front of your own door. The room has an elevated balcony on the down hill side, with table and chairs overlooking the park.
Inside is a big double bed, two bunks, microwave, hob, kettle, a fridge/freezer etc. and a fully equipped kitchen in one corner with everything you need.
BUT no hanging space…… Strange.
The room was spacious, clean and well aired.
Lighting over the table and chairs was too dim to read by.
Be aware of mosquitoes in the evening and we had a small cockroach living in the shower, who was soon evicted.

The staff were pleasant and advised us of places to visit during our stay.
We did not make use of any of the 'Holiday Park's' several facilities.
It is a short walk into town with its supermarkets or to the local restaurant 'Black Olive'. The entrance to the Park is very steep and could be a problem to some people on foot.
There is a real farmers market in town on a Sunday.

Unfortunately our trip was cancelled due to COVID restrictions.
The staff were really helpful when I contacted them and offered a full refund of our deposit even though they didn't have too.
I look forward to rebooking next year when we plan to head north again.

Me and my partner went down to see the facilities to check they were clean before we decided to stay! While my partner was in looking at the facilities a women came speeding down and aggressively told me that we were theft of property. I explained what we were doing and she continued to be very rude and judgemental- not good customer service
The bbq area is outside the men’s toilets which we found unhygienic
However the setting of the river is nice and the grounds are nice

I was highly disappointed with our recent stay at the Kerikeri Holiday Park. The facilities are in a major state of disrepair and a number of items that the website promises are not available. I now know that we need to walk around the grounds before we invest our time putting up our tent!

The good:
It's in a nice location.
The front desk person was very friendly.

The okay:
The bathroom is a little tired but was overall okay. Hot showers.

The bad:
- The playground is unavailable. The website now says (it didn't until I complained) that it's under repair until November, but I have no idea how they'd complete that work within a month. The entire thing needs an overhaul.
- There is no oven or working stove-tops. There are some hot plates and microwaves.
- The "crown jewel" of a bbq is unavailable. Instead there was a rusty old bbq.
- There is no lighting and majorly steep and scary stairs.
- The TV room's chairs are super dirty.
- There are no board games as the website promised.
- The fridges are not working. One leaked water all over our food. Another wasn't cold enough.

With so many campground options available in the area, I would stay ANYWHERE but here. In fact, I would rather freedom camp than stay here.

The park itself is beautiful, if you are there for gorgeous plants etc. If you are looking for good facilities, safety and service this park is well below what I would expect anywhere. I especially asked the female in reception for a flat pitch within easy reach of the toilets and explained I was touring with my 76 year old mother, who had difficulty in managing steps etc. I was reassured that the position in which we were to pitch satisfied that description. This couldn't have been more wrong. The toilets were down two long flights of concrete steps, which had no handrail or way of steadying yourself because of overgrown plants etc,, along a very uneven path and the toilets were very basic, not clean and the showers, as stated by others, were cold, even though only two were being used at the time.
\the kitchen facilities were dirty....and the cookers were not working. We even asked a cleaner to show us how to work them and she had to try four before she could get one to work! The toasters were filthy!
I am releived Idid not have small children because the small play park looked very neglected and in desperate need of maintnance etc.
It is a shame a park with such beautiful surroundings can be let fall into such a poor state. When this was mentioned to the staff at the deskm the attitude turned quite nasty. I would not recommend this site to anyone at all. On the surface the welcome was good, but realistically nothing requested was delivered and the facilities were atrocious....please do not waste your money here when there are other beautiful places to stay clsoe by.

Hi all, this was our first experience of motor home parking in New Zealand, the site location has a lot to offer, but sorry the facilities are in need of some modernisation ASAP, we've been to subsequent sites and this one is clearly miles behind all the others in terms of washrooms, kitchen and washrooms, especially as there prices are comparable , the site is also being used by locals and workmen and not Tourist.
The staff where friendly and helpful.
The site has so much potential, but would suggest you book elsewhere until they upgrade it

we had dirty plates a frying pan covered in fat, we had no tea towel or hand towel and bath mat. we had to pay for Wi-Fi. when we arrived the room was not cleaned properly. when we advised owners all they said it was a new cleaner and offered $10 internet.it was disappointing. the lighting in the room was not good enough to read. the camp grounds were tidy overall. the office hours were poor.

We had family over from the UK and took them touring New Zealand. My wife booked accomodation in advance for all our one night stays in various places. This was the only place that took out the money as soon as we booked. We arrived 18/12017 and looked at the chalet, we did not take our cases out of the car as we did not feel it was safe to leave as we were going out. While out we discussed the extremely awful state of the cabin. We passed a motel and decided to book in there. We took the keys back to this place and said could not stay in these awful conditions. We said we had booked another place. We were told by a staff member these chalets are really for fruit pickers who just want a roof over their heads. When we mention this we were told staff would not say this, well are they saying we are not telling the truth, because they did. I do not want to put their name on here yet. A staff member says the sign on the wall says no refund we said you do not see that sign on the internet. You have to be able to cancel once seeing the place, but no, a ploy to keep your money maybe. They said they could not re let, NOT SURPRISING. The pictures we looked at on the internet gave a different appearance of the place than what we got. You look at the pictures with a double bed and assume this is what you get, OH NO IT IS NOT . It is an awful room with a couple of bunk beds, no picture saying this is what you get. Which is the worst accommodation I have ever looked at in all my years of travel around the world.
This is the first time I have had a reason to do a review. The other people I was with will give their own views.
