We were so glad to stop the night at this lovely motel as we had been travelling all day and were in need of a rest to regenerate our energy. It was such a treat to be greeted with a spotlessly clean and very inviting unit. The only problem with this lodge was the busy road outside and the lack of double glazing to stifle the early morning (5a.m.) run of heavy vehicles starting their day but we enjoyed the rest of our time spent there.

This was our first stop on our tour of NZ. What a fantastic start. Laraine and Ed our hosts couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The room was great, lovely and spacious with all the facilities, bathroom, kitchen and a verandah overlooking a wonderfully peaceful garden. Swimming pool and jacuzzi all included. Laundry facilities on site. We would recommend it without hesitation for a multiple night stay.

It's a very good motel friendly on ur pocket. Good for anyone who isn't picky. It's location is the best, just on the highway no need of any detour. Very good for a overnight stop over if ur driving from Auckland. We have been here twice and am sure will visit again.

My Husband and I went away for the weekend, and discovered this lovely motel up in Northland. It is in a area called Puketone Junction, and therefore is either 20 min to kerikeri or paihia.
It is in the country, and really really quiet. The rooms where a great size, lovely bathrooms, and great kitchen.
The Hosts where soooooooooo friendly and really helpful.
we both felt like we were home, not at a motel, that is how comfortable the place is.
We both say "you have to stay there"

We only stayed there for one night but the beds were springy and uncomfortable. Booking at the last minute before new years eve it was very well priced for 4 people so can't complain much. There is a spa (NZ$3.00) to use and an outdoor swimming pool too but we didn't have the time to use either. The location is really good with a short drive to kerikeri or to paihia/ waitangi from the lodge. Good car parking too. The bathroom wallpaper is interesting;) but there is no pressure in the water lines, showering takes ages!

Would only recommend this if you are out of choices in Kerikeri or paihia or if what's available is over ur budget.

This place is F...A...B!!! We stayed here for several nights with our head-injury dad and nothing was too much trouble. We (obviously) required a late checkout...no trouble. We needed a parking issue resolved so we could be guaranteed an easy spot of parking when we returned from a day trip so we could get Dad in and out from the car to the room...again, no problem...they had a cone placed there ready for our return, knowing we had a disabled man in our family. They were friendly and their place is full of animals which is a lovely extra when you are looking for a nice holiday venue. We recommend these guys with confidence!!

We stayed at Laraine and Ed's hidden gem for a whole month while our bathroom was being fitted. They went out of their way to make us comfortable, providing us with Sky TV, and all regions video player and unlimited free WiFi. The kitchen was fully functional and there was a washing machine and dryer. The room are spacious and the beds perfect. If you are looking for somewhere central to Kerikeri, Paihia, Russell or Opua but want all the comforts of home and with it's own petting zoo book immediately, you won't regret it

We rented a two bedroom unit this past weekend, and as always the hosts at Bay Of Islands Country Lodge Motel were extremely accommodating and pleasant to deal with. We had issues with our booking as we booked through a third party site, but the hosts at the Motel came to our rescue and managed to accommodate us none the less. The Motel itself, is very relaxing ... our boys enjoyed the pool and lazing in the hammock. The unit we stayed in was very spacious and well equipped. The location is ideal as it's located in the middle of Paihia and Kerikeri. The motel also has a spa. It was not our first visit to BOI Country Lodge Motel, and most definitely not our last!

Wife and I stayed in Unit 1 for two nights. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Bathroom dated but everything works. Overall establishment a bit dated in appearance but that is misleading. Very helpful and pleasant owners.
And inexpensive!

Family and friends from NZ and overseas stayed here while attending a wedding. Ed and Larraine are great hosts, the units are clean and tidy and being able to see and feed the farm animals was a highlight for some guests. Well situated out of town but only 15 minutes to Kerikeri, Paihia or Kawakawa.
