Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent location for walking to town and supermarket. Short drives to Stone Store and good restaurants. Also very handy for the airport. Our studio near the bush at the back was comfortable and quiet. Beautiful setting with a walking track to a river through old redwoods and natives. Super friendly and obliging staff and owner.

We didn't have any set accommodation and booked at the last minute for accommodation that evening. The staff at Woodlands were so accommodating and very nice. We received a personal txt from Woodlands after booking on-line late in the afternoon with a full description of how to access the room after hours. They also went the extra mile to turn on the heater for us as it was cold and wet in northland. The facilities were perfect and we were very grateful they took the time considering it was a last minute booking. Thank you!

If traveling for work I always stay at Woodlands, the rooms are private and set amongst nature and very affordable. Close enough to walk into town if need be and the staff are friendly and always approachable. If traveling in the Summer months they have a lovely pool and spa to utilize.

A very cute quiet unit, surrounded by beautiful trees. We were only there for one night, but it was a very clean and comfortable stay. Nice comfortable bed. It was within a easy walk to the town and a supermarket.

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night and I thought it was an amazing place. The setting was beautiful - with our room overlooking the forest. The room was very clean, the bed was massive and very comfortable! We woke in the morning to so many different birds singing and it was very amazing. There was a continental breakfast included in the room rate and I thought the price of the room and breakfast was really good value for money. It was very quiet which was nice and whilst I read other reviews that said the motel is tired and needs work, I found everything very up to standard and I have no complaints there. I really wanted to give my stay 5/5, however there was one down side that disappointed me a bit... staff. When I went to check out, the lady at reception didn’t ask about how our stay was - in fact she was pretty unfriendly. I asked if she could round the price of the room up (because I was so impressed) and she acted like it was frustrating that I wanted to pay more because her system couldn’t accommodate my request. I felt disappointed that an otherwise perfect night away was negatively tainted by one staff member.

The staff are friendly, the room is clean and spacious, the kitchen facilities are good, the bed I wanted to take home, what a great nights sleep. The setting is peaceful. The bush at the back has a great calming effect. So why only 90%? I've stayed here before and was happy to book again and would stay again BUT they need to look at the bedroom furniture it's getting a little knocked about, Ok it's done few miles but maybe it time to look at it. It didn't really distract from my stay. BUT the shower badly needs some attention. Low water pressure, tepid fluctuating temperature from cold to hot then back to cold again. Fix that and I'd give you 100%.

We stayed in a motel in Whangarei the night before and the difference was quite noticeable. This place is a little tired and needs some serious TLC.I see they have it up for sale but a lot of capital needs to be poured in to make it truly a jewel within the town of Kerikeri. It's branding on a marketing perspective seems confused due to fixture and fittings and general appearance. It reminded me of a campsite when I was younger. I hope the new owner will show it true potential when I next visit.

Spent 4 nights at Woodlands visiting family who live with us. Booked via the Bookings Website which was easy. The hosts and staff are lovely people who were extremely accommodating and made our stay all the more comfortable... Our kids visited daily and our granddaughter spent a couple of nights as well... We stayed in the Executive Suite which smelt and looked very clean on arrival... The room itself had everything we needed and the bed was enormous... Use of the communal kitchen meant we didn't have to dine out every night. The bathroom was the only downfall: the shower was a bit unstable so my husband had to tighten the shower head holder a couple of times... Just needs a lil maintenence more than anything but otherwise an excellent stay... The pool was a great delight given the hot weather and the bushwalk from Woodlands to the Fairy Pools was definitely worth the journey... Overall our stay was great and we will most definitely be returning next time we're up this way....

Hard to find sign slightly overgrown.Signed in at the desk after finding the office car park spacers full (one vehicle taking up 3 spaces) Executive Studio, Which had a deck looking out to the bush.Very very clean and tidy But no maintenance or so it appears has been done for some ,like cupboard doors falling off, holes in walls filled but not sanded and repainted ,deck furniture not cleaned, TV only had 8 channels of Sky, 3 of those were of religious nature no local TV channels,so no news. When you drive in the first thing you notice the overgrown gardens and the rough driveway you get to the bottom and see the Administration/Conference building looking a bit sad, needing a make over as are all the decks around the building. When you drive in at night only one of the driveway lights is working. Also be warned $8.00 to wash your clothes and $8.00 to dry them, but they do have a few drying racks but not many and in poor condition .In its day it would have been a really great place, but still better than some we have stayed in.The main thing was it was spotlessly clean which is a tribute to the staff.
