A delightful property tucked in vineyards/countryside but still so close to Martinborough. Our delightful cottage was spacious, aesthetically pleasing, well furnished and spotlessly clean. Our first evening was cool so we made use of the fireplace in the sitting area. The furniture was comfortable but unfortunately the TV was a little small for the room size. The king bed was firm but oh so very comfortable!! The bed was made with a ‘light’ duvet and the bedding was of quality. We slept very well here at this resort. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower, nice amenities and fluffy towels. Kitchen was clean (including drawers/cabinets) and well supplied. We brought dinner in one evening, very enjoyable. Enjoyed the coffee maker and coffee pods provided and replenished. The wi fi signal was good and the A/C worked well. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was good not great. During our stay we had power issues and two mornings the kitchen along with the entire resort was without power. The fresh fruit was wonderful and there were cooked to order egg dishes but they just were not executed well. We also had a dinner one evening and it was very good. Our entrees of pumpkin soup and dumplings were excellent! Our mains of lamb loin and beef fillet also good. The wine list however could be expanded to provide more variety and wines in a lower price range. There is a complimentary washer/dryer on the property for guests to use – nice touch.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights and we could have stayed longer. It is a great little resort just to relax and unwind at. Wouldn’t hesitate to return!!!

We arrived late (11.45pm) after doing the Cook St Crossing and found the self checkin process ever so simple. Our room was delightful, ready and waiting. We then noticed the beautiful continental breakfast tray laid out with a lovely note explaining the extra care that had been taken in light of Covid 19 and NZ’s
Imminent shutdown. Despite having to close their restaurant, hot breakfasts were still on offer and delivered to our room. We later found that they were complimentary, as was the cheeseboard in our room.
The delightful staff member at checkout explained that their manager was concerned for us, and wanted to ensure we were well looked after, thus the additional touches, which had also included a room upgrade.
The level of kindness and care extended to us during our stay, especially at a time when so many in hospitality face such uncertain times, was exceptional..
Thank you to all concerned and if you are considering staying at Peppers Parehua Martinborough in the future, please know we would highly recommend you do.

My last stay at Parehua was in 2021, prior to the new owners and although I loved it then, this time around will be hard to beat!
The new General Manager Shree has created a sophisticated and modern resort featuring stunning art work, beautiful gardens, and an inviting bar and restaurant. The space has been completely transformed and refreshed into a setting that feels like your in upmarket Melbourne
The reception area sets the tone for your stay. I was warmly welcomed in by Sarthak and made to feel right at home in the recently refurbished reception. Sarthak is knowledgeable about the area, super professional and treats you like an old friend
Our Secluded cottage was waiting for us with a roaring gas fireplace, such a welcome relief from the cold snap we had been experiencing. There was a severe weather warning in place but the room was warm and quiet as we watched the lightening from the new comfy lounge suite. The recent updates to the room included new artwork, triple sheeting, bedside tables, a coffee machine, really nice toiletries and a great selection from the minibar. The room was clean and had everything you could want to enjoy your stay
Breakfast the next morning included a huge selection of fruit, pastries, juices, tea and coffee, cereals, and a hot breakfast section. We went in shortly before breakfast was to finish but everything was still being topped up so no chance of running out! We dinned in for dinner that evening and we're looked after by Emily and Ngaretta, they were professional and really lovely to deal with. I missed the chefs name but the sirloin steak that we had was by far the best meal I've ever had! Cooked perfectly to our liking, seasoned well and the fondant carrots just topped it off to perfection. We will absolutely be back!
On check out Rhea was absolutely lovely. She's always smiling, funny and kind, a true asset to Parehua.
The changes from our last visit to this one has been amazing and I cannot wait to come back again!

We used to love Parehua however it is a bit run down in areas now and not as luxurious as it used to be. Some of the cleaning could have also been better and not expressive coffee with the free breakfast didn’t seem to match the price range. I feel there are more luxurious places in Martinborough for this price range.

We first stayed here back in 2014 for our honeymoon anniversary and the place was nice and fresh, so we came back again for my wife's birthday and felt rather let down. Bed was probably the most uncomfortable I've been in for the price we paid, it feels like nothing has changed since our long absence, Spa Tub was filled of grime and dirt once the Jets were on, definately needed service cleaning. Dinner was good but lacks vegetarian options both dinner and breakfast, breakfast could also be better for the price paid. Would rather pay for a good breakfast of choice rather than a free continental. Also had no information brochure/folder in our rooms so didn't have any sort of hotel Guide for food or facility info even asked reception desk for a new one but nothing came, bit disappointing coming from the city. Rooms are still relatively in good state but overall lacking in certain details one has come accustomed to from peppers.

Overall the resort is lovely, the gardens were immaculate and the staff in the Bistro were excellent.
We stayed in a Garden Cottage which was spacious, really well laid out and a very quiet spot - we liked it very much - especially the living flame open fire.
However, the overall cleanliness of the room was poor, there were cobwebs and dead bugs and the bathroom definitely needed a deep clean. There was also a hole in the living area wall and numerous marks to the paintwork throughout the cottage. We left the tag for the room to be made up but it never was throughout our stay. This standard of room also doesn't come with bath robes included so take your own if staying in a Garden Cottage.
The poor cleaning continued in the Bistro, the amount of dust on the loudspeakers actually made us laugh but the numerous dead bugs in the dome glass light fittings above our head didn't. Also not sure when any of the windows had been cleaned either inside or out.
The reception staff were quite friendly and helpful but didn't appear to have a grasp of what would be really useful in terms of suggestions for trips and walks in the area as an alternative to wineries. They did tell us that Escarpment winery are no longer associated with them, that "they have pulled out".
Overall we enjoyed our stay, and fully understand that Covid may have affected the maintenance of the property, but we won't go back until we hear that regular maintenance and full cleaning is taking place on a regular basis.

We stayed from 25/6/20 until 27/6/20. The cottage was great.
The room service food not so great
My daughter ordered a club sandwich, no mention of bacon on the menu. The sandwich was full of fatty, streaky bacon. Hardly any chicken. She was unable able to eat it because she does not eat bacon. it is appalling it was not mentioned on the menu there was bacon in the sandwich.
I ordered fish and chips. The fish was revolting. It tasted "off" My daughter also found it to be horrible. Such a strong smell. I only had a couple of mouthfuls and then threw it out.
On complaining was offered a discount and later a refund.
Both my daughter and I had stomach ache and diahorea the next day and was unable to enjoy our break. the rest of our break
We spoke to the receptionist when we checked out. She was most apologetic and said they treated complaints like this seriously. She gave me a bottle of wine to placate me. She said the manager would investigate if others people had been sick after eating fish. He would get back to me soon. She also said the menu would be amended to include bacon in the club sandwich.
A week later we returned to the hotel to collect our forgotten coats. We told the man on duty about the incident. We said we had not heard from the manager. He said the manager was on holiday but that was no excuse. We would hear from the him soon he said. The room service menu had not been changed to include bacon in the club sandwich.
To date we have still not heard from the manager. I expect they were hoping we would not bother to follow this up. i have not done this review until now to give them time to respond. I cannot wait any longer. i do expect better from a reputable chain of hotels such as Peppers.

As an Accor member, we appreciated the complimentary upgrade and the personalised welcoming note and treats.
We were greeted with broken glass at the entrance way to our room and soap residue in the bath tub. Would have loved to use the tub but chose not to, as we were suspicious of the unhygienic state in which we found it.
A deciding factor for booking this property, was the pool facilities. Unfortunately, the pool was not in a usable state. It was full of leaves and other surrounding debris that nature had on offer. The pool surrounds was also occupied with old unusable furniture that was very unsightly. Pool and surrounds were unkept and when this was raised with staff, we were presented an excuse that the keeper had been on sick leave therefore pool had not received the normal attention.
If you wish to use the tennis court during your stay, I suggest you take your own gear as the gear available is very worn and you will struggle to locate a ball.
Restaurant staff were courteous and attentive. Food was average quality and would suggest exploring the numerous options Martinborough has on offer.
Also important to note, that you do not receive Accor membership discounts in the restaurant, if you dine in on a public holiday. This was a first for us. Breakfast was average, the bread on offer seemed as if it was from the night before and most of it uneatable as it was beyond firm.
It's clear that this property has been in a better state and possibly suffering the cause and affect of CoVid and all the complications that this pandemic has presented.

We stayed here for one night in February 2021 in a woodland villa (four adults in a unit with two bedrooms).
The unit itself was simply enormous with a very large lounge/dining/kitchen area, laundry area, two large bedrooms, very large ensuite bathroom, and another bathroom. The unit is fully equipped with everything, eg kitchen items, coffee machine, washing and drying machine etc. A family could quite easily stay here for a long period. We also had a hot spa that was very pleasant. The unit was clean. The wifi was a little bit on the slow side.
We arrived at about 2:10pm, just ten minutes after the official 2:00pm check-in time. We were told that they were still cleaning our unit. While other hotels would simply tell us to go away and come back, we were invited to go into the restaurant to wait and we were given a free glass of wine. That was very good service.
The hotel is located in a quiet area about a 15-minute flat walk to the centre of town. There are no shops or restaurants around (besides the restaurant at the hotel), so you'll need to walk or drive into town if you need anything.
I give this hotel 4.5 stars, but not five stars as we were disappointed that the breakfast was not a buffet. There was bread/toast, various fruit juices, tea and coffee, yoghurt, and a very small amount of fruit on offer on the counter. We were then able to order from a menu, either a cooked breakfast, porridge, or eggs benedict. The food was of good quality, but a breakfast buffet would have been so much better and would have offered a wider choice and catered for those who weren't keen on the three choices.
Despite the breakfast, we will return here on our next visit to Martinborough.

My wife and I booked a lovely room at Parehua Resort over the weekend of the Martinborough Fair (30th April 2022).
We were so impressed with the level of great Service from the staff from our first call to book a room to arriving to check in.
The resort is settled in amongst the trees, vineyards & a small lagoon. It is so picturesque & peaceful.
The room we had was modern, spacious and clean and welcoming. The Decor is warm and inviting and tastefully presented. A lovely gas fire added to the cosy & inviting feel to the room. The room has a small but complete kitchen area with dishwasher, microwave & cooking elements. It was clean and tidy. The bathroom was surprisingly bigger than I expected and with a spa bath included. Modern and clean and well presented.
The Bistro served up a wonderful cooked breakfast which was charming and inviting. Lovely setting next to the Pool and tennis court.
We want to compliment the staff for always being helpful and friendly , whether it was the front desk or the servers or the cleaners...everyone was equally friendly and courteous .
I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who wants a modern but cosy & clean place to stay to choose Parehua Resort. Thank you all for a lovely couple of days. The anniversary gift pack was a lovely touch too .
