Stayed two nights here in a 'king' (non-spa) room and found it a very good alternative to Launceston. The location is lovely with nice views of the river, and it is within easy reach of everything the Tamar Valley has to offer without the congestion of the city.
Check-in was quick and easy, the receptionist was friendly and efficient. The room was extremely clean, not huge but nicely set out, with full-length windows onto a small balcony and sliding screens so you could get plenty of fresh air without being bothered by insects. Bathroom was good, with a roomy shower cubicle. At night it was a very quiet location. The units are so there is a good level of privacy and the soundproofing between units was excellent.
There is one carpark at the end of the accommodation block and easy walkways to the units. The grounds are nicely landscaped and very well maintained, and there is a viewing platform near the carpark with more good views.
Only negative was that the rooms at the centre of the bottom row, directly behind the hotel, are subject to the loud roar of the hotel's air conditioner (or possibly exhaust fans). This was turned off around 9pm, and starts around 7am, but is very intrusive when it's going and certainly drives you inside if you happen to be enjoying coffee on the balcony. Apart from that a high standard of accommodation I would be happy to stay in again, so long as I could get a room not directly behind the hotel.

We'd read mixed reviews, seems to be the norm these days, but we have been very happy with our two night stay. We had a spa unit. Yes there is no kitchenette. No biggy for us. We'd booked a wine tour with Valley Brook tours, so that was lunch and afternoon tea looked after. We were here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so it was only going to be grazing and bubbly anyway. We also booked in to the tavern for the second night. We only live ten minutes down the road, and wanted an easy, stress free couple of days, hence the close proximity to home, but my reason for mentioning this is because we have been to this eatery more than twice before, so we knew it to be alright. Now, if you're used to worker's clubs, or big footy clubs for meals then you may baulk at the prices, but if you're used to Tassie prices, and remember our state's population is less than some mainland suburbs, then you will find the prices fine. The food is not high falluting, but it's definitely not second rate. We loved the views over the Tamar, especially while we enjoyed the spa. Lonny's not that far away if you really need nightlife. The free wifi's not that great. But all in all we are very happy with our choice.

Brand new eco built hotel that had a great view of the Tamar river. Room was clean and functional, although a bit small. Bathroom was modern with a nice hot water. Our room was at the back perched up high so that view was terrific. Balcony was a great addition but a bit cold because of the wind. Great addition to the room with a nice couch instead of 1 single chair would be nice, so that one can relaxed adequately. Foods at the pub was expensive and terrible. However, there is a bakery on the ground of the hotel that sell pastries and the cheapest and nice sourdough bread I've ever bought

We were with a large group. If the Tasmanian tourism economy wants to recover from Covid, it will not need these people to lead the team in that department. They operate from a pristine wine growing area, yet the evening meal wine list is very limited. The staff insisted on closing the bar at 10.45 pm, when a group of 20 of us wanted to continue enjoying a good social evening and drinks with no tab limit!! They do not serve breakfast, but have 20 plus well appointed units of accomodation and no doubt hungry morning guests they wont service!!. However there are two really good alternatives at Exeter, 6 km away, even on a Sunday. The meal was good pub food, not likely to draw us back for a special culinary experience.

Our long weekend getaway, on the beautiful apple isle, was down on the banks of the Tamar River in Rosevears.
We have had the most relaxing 4 days / 3 nights we’ve had in a long time. 🥰
The weather was spectacular, the accommodation was top notch, and the company, well that goes without saying 🙌🤣.
When we arrived, as we were early, (a short 20 mins drive out of Lonnie), our room was ready! Bonus!.👌 And may I say, as we walked through the door, the view was stunning.🤩 Very impressed… Big king bed, great balcony with seating, and views all along the Tamar River. Bathroom was well appointed, with rain and hand held showers, heated towel rail; and ladies, no need to pack hair dryer or straightener, as it’s all supplied! 👌
The weather was spectacular for our entire time. Cold but brilliant blue sky’s and sunny day’s.
We did pre book all our meals, especially at Rosevears, as this little pub/hotel is a very popular spot. Good menu and nice wines to. We had a dinner and lunch here and it was lovely. Great open fire and again views of the river.
Right next door, and a minute walk from the rooms, is the Rosevears Bakery, also a great little find, with nice coffee and fresh baked goods. Comes in handy, as the Hotel isn’t open for breakfast!
Highly recommend to put this on your getaway list.

I forked out $250 for the outdoor spa room and it was 37...the temperature of a human body. Extremely disappointing as we drove out of our way for the hot spa that overlooked the lake. In reality the spa was too cold to spend more than 10 mins (followed by a hot shower to warm up) and the spa is tucked behind the building with only a few metres of view.

I stumbled across Rosevears Hotel while looking for accommodation on the road from Launceston to Ross, when I looked at the map more closely I realized that the hotel was not where I originally thought. But I was so taken by the beautiful property, that I booked it anyway. I arrived after reception had closed, but they called with instructions and I was welcomed on arrival. All the staff were lovely and are a credit to Rosevears.
The rooms are terraced up the hill and beautifully appointed. The rooms are connected by boardwalks and feature stunning views of the Tamar River. There is a bakery on site for breakfast, cooked breakfast is offered on the weekends but was rather limited during the week (maybe a breakfast pack could be offered). For an upmarket hotel I thought 10am checkout was rather early, 11am would be more suitable.
I dined in Rosevears Hotel's restaurant and was assigned a lovely spot by the fire to enjoy my tasty steak and the service was great.
The hotel and area are stunning, staff fantastic and I cannot recommend Rosevears Hotel highly enough. I loved my stay!

Loved staying here. View of the Tamar from the unit was fantastic, being slightly elevated from the river. Quality of furnishings, (including bed, linen, pillows etc) was excellent. Slide open the doors, lay on the bed and enjoy the view and peacefulness.
While other units are close, they don’t impede on privacy.
We were a family of four, so two rooms was great. There is a queen bed in the second room and a small window. Main room includes king bed and coffee facilities with small fridge and large wall mounted TV.
Great restaurant and bar with small bakery attached as well.
Thoroughly recommend this place.

Beautiful place to stay for a weekend away. Accommodation units are the best you will find anywhere, the meals are good, the beer is cold and they now have a bakery for a scrumptious breakfast. Service is fast and friendly, the location is spectacular and a great alternative to staying in Launceston.
