Home for us is in the Tasmanian Highlands, surrounded by temperate rainforest, by tranquil rivers and mesmerising views of the outer most corners of the Black Bluff Conservation Area. We are a handful of tiny houses scattered throughout 260acres of bushland, waiting to be found, along with the wonders within.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in the largest cabin which had 2 rooms and is well equipped to cater to people with wheelchairs and the like.
The cabin quality was excellent and the bath on the balcony is a perfect way to end the day and watch the sun go down.
We walked to the river which isn’t for the faint hearted and was quite steep in places but there did seem to be other track options that may be easier but it was worth the trip.
All in all it was a lovely, relaxing stay but we were ushered out the door bang on 10am as we were trying to load up and leave. Completely understand the need to vacate and leave by 10 to allow for cleaning but had come from a different time zone so had over slept, our bad, but a little grace to allow us to finish loading up and get out before cleaning commenced would have been less awkward. As it was we were out by 10:15.
The whole set-up is new and I am sure everyone is finding their way.
I would recommend staying here if you have the chance.

After a very cold and wet multiday hike, this was the perfect place to relax and recover. The huge windows in the Myrtle cabin gave me dramatic views, even if they were mostly of fast moving clouds and lots of rain. The diesel heater kept the place cosy and warm and the fire pit outside was fun to cook on. And the bed was really comfortable after days on a thin sleeping mat.

The whole place was really well set up, with new and useful equipment and utensils all arranged in a clever, compact space. Check in and check out were a breeze and the communication and instructions were all clear and simple. Highly recommended.

Stayed here recently with family of 5 in the 2 bedroom Blackjack cabin. Extremely modern and spacious exuding quality throughout . Huge bathroom , kitchen with all the needed amenities , spacious dining and living areas, huge covered balcony with further dining table and BBQ (oh and bathtub) multiple games supplied which managed to keep the kids off devices for a few minutes . The internal log fire was well used as even in summer the night time temperatures were below 10deg C and the daytime temperatures not much warmer . Loved our stay here. There is not much in the way of views from the balcony other than the surrounding bush, the smaller cabins at the lower end of the property appeared to have great views across the valley below. The cabins are quite private however with the Blackjack cabin it is located next to the main entrance road though we only saw 1 or 2 passing cars during our stay. We managed to get out and explore the large property and were rewarded with multiple sightings of wildlife including echidnas, wallabies and a fleeting glance of something small and black darting through the undergrowth (Tassie Tiger perhaps??) . Keep in mind that the the walks down to the river are quite steep and the track is quite rough so can take more than an hour both ways and is difficult for children . For supplies we found the best option was Sheffield which is about 30min away . The main centre of Cradle Mountain was approx 15 min away

All new. Atmosphere ! Ideally all the kangaroos run up to the house at dusk
Didn’t like it · I was probably a little upset that you hit the ceiling at night, but that’s a minor thing
The houses are small but cozy. It's cool that you can light a fire. And sit outside. The view from the house is beautiful to the green mountains.
