The Hotel room that we were allocated to was facing the front of the hotel and it had amazing views! The staffs were generally friendly but we had one waiter at the breakfast area (whom had an uncanny resemblance to Arnold Schwarzenegger!), he was extremely informative and accommodating to our needs. The mineral pool was really nice, the view was jaw dropping, unfortunately the hotel did not allow for camera and me and my wife were unable to capture that magical moment when we first swam into the outdoor section only to be welcomed by snow capped scenery. The fact that the hotel allowed checked out guest to continue using the mineral pool was really a bonus, there were lockers and hotel towels still available to use.

We came from Luzern took the boat to Mount Rigi and took the cable car up to Rigi Kaltbad. They offer a bus service from the harbour if you have heavy luggage take the service as the Hill is steep the last 100 m. If you have a hotel reservation on Mount Rigi, you Can obtain 50% discount on the cable car or cog wheel train.
We had one nightat Hotel Rigi Kaltbad enjoyed the pool and the views and had a small walk to see the cows and the landscape. The following day we took the cog wheel train up to Rigi kulm fantastic 360 degree views, and took another Line of train Down to Arth-Goldau really a nice experience.

We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Rigi Kaltbad. The hotel was exactly as described, and the of course the spa facilities were excellent, both for the spa and the architecture! The hotel was pleasant and functional and very clean, the staff were charming, and we felt welcomed from the moment we entered the building! The rooms were as said functional and clean if maybe now a little dated, but then we were there to be in the spa or out in the glorious weather that accompanied us. We took the option of "Halb Pension", so breakfast and our evening were included in the price, which at less than CHF 800.00 (excluding extras such as drinks) was sensational. The food was great!! Unusually large portions for Switzerland too. Plus (thanks to Covid....) the hotel, and especially the spa and restaurant, being closed to hotel non-residents, were thankfully not at all crowded, so for us at least, a win-win!!

We spent just one night but the direct connection with the SPA and the friendly and uncomplicated staff gave us a fantastic experience.
Our 2 kids of 10 and 9 years old had a separate but adjoined room.
Rooms spotless and very confy beds. Only negative note was a missing fan into the closed bathroom.
We could use the SPA the last day till the end of the day, if we wished to stay and hotel provided all linen for the family.
We chose a formula with breakfast included and we regaled ourself a very copious one.
We had dinner at the restaurant and the ordered dishes were just delicious!
Plenty of excursions possibilities in the surronding area and view on the Alpis was outstanding from the room as well as from the thermal bath.
Highly recommended

After 3 days in Lucerne we wanted to see the Rigi mountain and try the spa at Rigi Kaltbad, so we took the ferry from Lucerne to Weggis and took the cable car up to Rigi Kaltbad, where you get the ticket at Hald Price when overnighting at Hotel Rigi Kaltbad. The spa was really nice and hotel personel very friendly. The room was fine and we had dinner at the hotel as well nice but pricy as everything else in Switzerland. Next morning we took the cog wheel train to Rigi Kulm, Saw the fantastic view at the top and took the train down again to Arth-Goldau and continued to Zurich.

We are in our late seventies and were nervous about the complications of getting to the car free mountainside resort of Rigi Kaltbad but it sounded like fun, a trip across the lake on a ferry and a ride up the mountain on Europe’s oldest cogwheel railroad with luggage in tow. And it was fun. The hotel is ultra modern with a terrific view from every room. We stayed three nights. The breakfast buffet was excellent and dinners were very enjoyable. Special kudos to the dining room staff who made us feel so welcome. And the hiking was perfect for us with easy to navigate pathways and the handy mountain railway to take us anywhere the mountain or back to the hotel if we were tired. Then a trip to the gorgeous indoor and outdoor spa pool with conveniently placed massage jets to away hiking aches. The trails offered views nearly every step of the way, mountain tops, turquoise lakes, lush meadows and lots of cows. Another plus, wildflowers were planted and identified on all the paths around the little town of Rigi Kaltbad. The hotel was relatively empty when we got there on a Wednesday but had filled up by Saturday when we left.

amazing location, great hotel, great thermal baths - the village is charming and can only be accessed by cable car or train - no cars there! the hotel gave our names to the cable car ticket office where we were then given half price on the ride up as a result. Very efficient!
we will be back for sure

I stayed at Rigi Kaltbad last August and it was wonderful. Panoramic views of the mountains, dining and a VERY relaxing mineral bath spa experience. Fast forward to today: young parenting couples bring their infants, toddlers, plus older to the mineral pool. They jump, play, scream and no one seems to care. The spa is managed by a separate company. After a 4 hour hike I wanted to luxuriate in a quiet, serene setting. So, if you want to bring your children to a wellness spa to relax; enjoy this NOW family oriented resort. BTW, the rooms are antiquated and need a facelift. One sinks into one's own mattress and it is like falling into a "V." Restaurant is less than wonderful. However, on a positive note, the staff is amazing!!!
PS - Stay away from the steam room; there was green nose stuff on the floor!!!!

This was the second time we've stayed at the hotel - it's worth it to be able to use the spa and because every room has a beautiful view. The staff is very very friendly and accommodating, the restaurant has a great breakfast buffet, and the bar is very cool (and also has a view). It is special to stay on Rigi and I would recommend this hotel over others we have tried.

This is a great place to stay. There is a pool on site and you are provided with towels and robes to use the facility. The hotel is well located with lovely walks starting right out the front. The views are spectacular. Breakfast was included in our package and excellent with pastries, juices and other selections. The hotel is obliging with storage of luggage and the check in staff were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and it was one of the highlights of our trip. There are a couple of shops close by for ice cream and souvenirs. The hotel is a very short walk from the train station.

Will one be enough to stay or do I need the two nights ?
Answer from Traci L

The town is small with minimal to see. For just using the spa one day is plenty. after checkbin the spa is only open till 6 pm Hotel guests are let in before all others at 9 am. You can stay after checkout leaving your suitcases at the bell desk. and use the facilities till it closes at 6 be sure to make reservations for treatments if desired, but the pools etc are spectacular.

From ZH a few hours and you can take a train and a Luftseilbahn (gondola?) to get there. I cannot recommend the hotel unfortunately. Although it is an attractive hotel with a nice view, the restaurant experience was terrible and it was included in the price of our room.
