We spent 7 days at Märchenhotel leading up to Easter weekend and we had a wonderful time. Our children (5 and 3 years) loved the hotel with the fish aquariums, bunnies to pet and feed, amazing indoor/outdoor warmed swimming pool, and all the play areas that they could explore. We appreciated the early children dinner time and all the evening activities so the adults could enjoy their amazing 5-course dinner without rushing. The food was delicious and I appreciated all the choice. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and all spoke English (many of them were patient enough to let me practice my poor German language skills). We had a large enough room with a separate room for the children, and it was nice to have a shorter sink for the little ones and a bed rail to keep our toddler in his bed.

Our trip was in between "seasons", as the ski hill was accessible but not open during the week. There was plenty of snow to go sledding during the week and the gondola opened on the weekend so we could do some spring skiing. We would love to come back during the summer when there are more activities to take advantage of (e.g. climbing wall, go-karts, animals, playground).

The hotel is great for families with children under 10 years old, so it was perfect for us. They really think about how to make your experience a great one (they did our children's laundry at the end of the trip so we could go home with clean kids clothes!). This is not a typical hotel, it is more of an overall family experience, so I highly recommend it and think it is worth the cost. The Märchenhotel is only two hours away from our home so we will definitely be back!

We arrived on December the 15th and were welcomed with a cute little sac for both my kids, in it stickers, socks and other cute things.

We were given all the information and tour by a very
kind lady at the reception.
They have countless activities throughout the day.

Some of our favorites were: the feeding of the animals, playing with light, building a snow man, story time, a visit to a near by farm and the jumping castle.

We stayed for 7 nights and while our older girl 4 yro had a blast playing at the supervised area (which is available to hotel guess from 9-21hrs) our 2yro son did not, but enjoy the freedom to move around go every where explore (the hotel is very well thought out for children from a safety point of view)

This family ran hotel is located in a privileged location with an amazing view, we stayed in one of the remodel rooms, but I have to say that while nice and super clean, the room has seen better days.

The Hallen Bad/swimming area is great, and has all you need for children, including floats, water vests, and even some toys. The indoor outdoor pool is amazing.

Food
Some packages include breakfast and dinner.
The food for adults was great and a lot of ingredients locally sourced. The only thing was, that with an active 2 yro, a 5 course dinner proved to be a challenge.

The tree house and the ball pool were both unsupervised but equally magic for the children, giving them room to explore.

My suggestion to the hotel would be to include coffee machines or coffee for the room as as some children are early birds (mine included 5 or 6 am) and nothing opens till 7:30 am.

They have a small gym and it would be nice to have space for group clases or other group fitness.
I actually did yoga I. The solarium which has amazing views (it was empty at the time)

It would also be nice to have some manual activities involving smaller children (2-3 years old)

Over all it was a great stay with amazing staff, views and amenities.
We would like to come back and perhaps stay in a different suite.

If you have children and you are looking for a child friendly hotel with great views this is the place!

The only reason I did not give this hotel 5 stars was because it felt too crowded our last 4 days in comparison to our first 3 which were wonderful and calm, and because the “remodel rooms” are now showings sings of needed repairs.

We had a really great stay with our 4 year old son. Before the trip I knew my son would love it, my only hesitation was about the food for the adults. The dinner turned out to be very good each night (see photos of menus attached). Our room was great and my son loved the activities like daily alpaca feeding and bouncy castle (though we wished the bouncy castle could have been a bit earlier than 8:20pm each evening). The wine tasting each evening during kids story time was also great. There are microwaves and coffee machines on each corridor and you can serve yourself tea and fruit/snacks in the relaxation room on the top floor.
The kids club is on the same level as the dining room which means kids can come in and out to the adults during dinner which is really great.
The location of the hotel is also really nice - you can walk along a beautiful forest path to the ski area in around 10-15 mins. These walks with our son in the sled were a highlight of the trip. There is only a small supermarket and a café in the town itself but there is enough to do in the hotel so this wasn’t a problem.
We are already planning to come back again next year. My only suggestions for improvement would be to have the bouncy castle a little earlier in the evening and maybe a little more choice on the breakfast buffet, for example pancakes or pain au chocolat etc.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel if you have young children.

Märchen hotel, really live up to the highest standards. Managed by its owners Patric and Nadia Vogel, takes extreme care of every single detail. Together with the most professional (and extremely kind) staff, made our stay an exemptional experience. Everything in the hotel is perfectly built to serve everyone’s needs (children and adults). The rooms are extremely clean and carefully design with a modern approach. The SPA has everything one can wish for (massage, aromatherapy, etc.) and a 24/7 open indoor swimming pool with slides, in addition to the beautiful outdoor infinity pool looking to the majestic mountains. All the kids’ activities are well organized and planned accordingly, and there is so much for them to do indoor and outdoor (from organized walking tours with the llamas to evening films, inflatable castle, slides, evening storytelling, indoor tree top playing area and much more). We enjoyed very much how all the kids in the hotel felt at home, and how everything is well planned for the parents to relax at the same time (for instance wine tasting sessions, while the kids are having fun in the amazing indoor multi-activities hall). The restaurant has an exquisite cuisine (with carefully selected wine menu), including many options for the little ones. The breakfast was also a big highlight as there is also many options to choose from, with a real size cow sculpture, which kids can milk themselves for the morning cereals. For this and many more other reasons, I highly recommend Märchen hotel to anyone who would like to have a truly amazing and relaxing experience.

The Märchenhotel in Braunwald was a fantastic choice for our family ski vacation. The hotel itself was charming and full of character, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay.

The real highlight of our trip, however, was the ski experience. The hotel is perfectly located for easy access to the slopes, and the skiing itself was fantastic. The trails were well-groomed and offered something for skiers of all levels, from beginners to experts. Our children especially loved the ski school, where they received excellent instruction and made great progress.

Overall, we had an incredible time at the Märchenhotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a ski vacation with family. The combination of charming accommodations, excellent skiing, and a family-friendly atmosphere made for a truly unforgettable experience.

The hotel is quite expensive, but it also offers a lot! For kids, there’s a lot of entertainment, but also many small details make the stay nice with kids - e.g. getting milk at breakfast „fresh“ from a life-size fiberglass cow, or picking up eggs outside in the chicken coop. The breakfast buffet is really nice, and the dinner is good, too. The view from the hotel is spectacular!

Choosing a place to spend my 40th birthday, being a mom of two was an easy task having this hotel as an option. A place where I could get my spoil on while the kids are constantly entertained and taken care of. From the pampering at the arrival with delicious welcoming drinks to the marvelous wellness on the top ( do not leave without getting a massage ) to the delicious dinners and well thought out deco, this perfectly placed up in the sky midst the mountains paradise hotel makes for a very relaxing experience. The indoor swimming pools or the breath taking infinity pool is both enjoyable for children and adults, and the view makes any postcard jealous. Outdoor sports are also easily within reach. There’s something for all tastes and ages, we simply adored our stay and will certainly be coming back in a near future. Family Jufer

We have visited several kids hotels in the past, but we had never experienced what Maerchenhotel offered. The activities were endless, and so insightful and well prepared. My daughter, and I, were amazed by the professionalism and the energy the team is putting in order to entertain the little guests. Highly highly recommended, and we definitely coming back!!
