We stayed in a Loveroom with a king bed and rolling Jacuzzi and we also included the one-night Loveroom package with dinner/breakfast, late checkout, and snack.

The room was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. The Jacuzzi was nice and it is a really neat concept being able to roll the tub out onto the balcony. Only minor complaint about the Jacuzzi is it was a little worn out and in need of repair. Some of the caulking on the tub was coming off and a few of the jet coverings on the bottom kept popping off during use. Also, the wheels for rolling needed some grease for the noise!

The Loveroom package was not as satisfying as the room. The snack on arrival was some berries, which were a bit overripe and warm; as we checked in almost at the earliest available time (16:00), I would have expected them to be just set out. Dinner was good, but nothing special, and you are limited to a set menu with one choice for the main dish (in this case between lamb and fish). Breakfast was quite good however, although Covid-19 distances for the tables were probably not at the mandated distances.

Broadly speaking, the whole experience was very good, but for what you pay for these services, I would have expected a little better on the food and maintenance of the Jacuzzi.

We stayed there for the Valentine week-end (13 to 14 feb 2021). We excpected a confortable room (we booked the disabled one because that was the last one avalaible with the lake view). Apart of the view, there is no real interst. The room is small, not warmed enough, the matresses (no double bed as often in the Swiss German part... not ideal for a couple) were really unconfortable (I woke up with a terrible back pain). Even the electricity was low: I had difficulties to get my phone charged correctly!!! For the price we payed, we expected better furnitures and services. No fridge in the room, a cofee machine is there BUT you have to pay the coffe capsule in the restaurant. No boiler, no bottle of water. No hand towel near the sink and the hair dryer was so weak!!! Unuseful.
We travel a lot and know what is given for the price we payed, usually.
The wellnes: a small swiming pool, the water is not warm enough because not covered properly or the pool is extended outside so the fresh air can enter and refresh it. The hammam? unavalaible! What a disapointement. We choosed the hotel for those little pleasure and it is written in the web page that those services are actually avalaible! Not sure that the wellnes area is correctly maintained.
But, people there are very friendly and the food is great (the price is ok) . We wouldn't come back there for sure even with the offered drink. Not with that price.

A very decent 3*** hotel. I’ve stayed here 5 or 6 times.
Always take the lake view as
1) the view is fantastic, and you listen to waves and ducks, and watch the ferries come and go
2) it’s away from the road, albeit it’s very quiet at night
Good breakfast, great terrace on the lake.
Restaurant is good. Staff friendly. Balconies are a reasonable size, you don’t feel cramped at all. Beds are good, bathrooms are inline with 3*** standard. Good water pressure! Curtains are not blackout, so an eye mask makes sense if you’re a light sleeper.
Dog friendly. Right by the jetty for the Thunersee boats (pay for 1st class, it’s about 40% more).
My only gripe is they have a fumoir and no external non-smoking areas, which is a bit archaic as the vast majority of guests are non-smokers.
Price wise, it’s well priced for the experience.

We booked a night at this hotel on booking.com.

Once we receive the confirmation which clearly states the final price for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children), the hotel contacts us by e-mail to inform us that there is a surcharge for children and that CHF 60.00 would be charged to us "manually".

Surprised by this email, we contest this surcharge by email by confirming the final price of the confirmation and the number of people indicated on it.

No answer from the hotel!

So we decided to cancel our reservation because holidays are made to rest and not to fight against hoteliers.

The Swiss Confederation is encouraging the Swiss to stay in their country this summer 2020 and to keep the local economy going ... so we'll go to another Swiss hotel!

"mountain view" means no view. Around here, everywhere is a mountain view. It's the nice way of saying "inferior". Not just the room and view are inferior (and should be a lot cheaper) The phone does not work. No fridge, no hot tub as seems to be the case everywhere else. The TV has no un-encoded English channels. Double bed still means 2 mattresses side by side. No coffee facilities. There is a machine (pay extra for extra coffee tabs) but no cups, sugar, etc. No bath either. Just a shower.
No upgrade to lakeview available. Dinner at the restaurant till 8,but at 19h30 no lakeview table available for us either.
We eventually checked ourselves out and went to a nicer and cheaper place in central Interlaken.

Response from Dominic Fetzer, Owner at Strandhotel Seeblick
Responded 2 Jun 2021
You can choose yourself which room category you would like to book. Rooms with a whirlpool are also marked as such. No description says that there is a minibar in the mountain view room. An upgrade to a lake view room was not possible because all rooms in this category were fully booked. If you come to the restaurant late at night and do not make a reservation before, it is not possible to get a window seat. These seats are reserved for the first guests who make a reservation.

The hotel location is beautiful. But you have to strictly follow times as there is no other scope than to reach by bus. Which runs hourly. From Interlaken and Spiez both and the bus stop is 100 mtr away from hotel .

Rooms are average. Poorly lit. We stayed in see rose no 06 which has an Attic on top which had only one bulb which also low wattage .
Maintanance of the room was average.

We had food in their Restaurent and asked for plates and they asked us to pay for 4 franks per plate if in case you are sharing… it’s insane and nowhere in Switzerland I found a Restaurent like this .

The location of the hotel on the lake and 50m from the boat jetty was wonderful. However our room was facing south and in full sun most of the day. Consequently the room became uncomfortably hot. The room had an air conditioning unit which appeared to be operating but actuality wasn't working. We complained to the front desk as it was effecting our sleep but nothing was done to improve the temperature which was over 28c.

The hotel is in a great location on the lake. We had a deck off our room overlooking boats and the lake. Our room was modern, very clean and spacious. Beds we’re comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and typical for Europe with meats, cheese , fresh bread, croissants, fruit, yogurt, etc. Would stay here again

I have nothing but positive words about our stay at the Strandhotel Seeblick. Our stay in the Loft House was exactly what we were looking for and needed for our family of 5. The hotel was very kind and accommodating when we explained we had 2 adults and 3 children, and they made up the sofa bed for us prior to arrival, and the sofa bed was suitable for our 12y and 9y boys. We decided to bring an air mattress in our luggage for the 3rd child. There was more than enough room in the Loft House for us and all our luggage. The view of the lake from the balcony was lovely! It was quite warm during our stay, but the windows and sliding door allowed for good airflow, and there was an oscillating fan for us to use as well. The bed was very comfortable for us. The room was clean upon arrival, and had daily cleaning (and restocking of Nespresso/tea supplies). The restaurant is delicious, we made a reservation in the morning for dinner that evening. Faulensee is a charming village, and I would be thrilled to stay at this hotel again!

This hotel was comfortable, well priced and clean with access to pool amenities, although we did not have time to use them. It also comes with the Thunersee tourism card, which offers discount on transport and tourist attractions in the local area. Our lakeview room had the most stunning view, I only wish we could have stayed longer. We did not try any of the food available due to our schedule.
Well located with a choice of restaurants in Faulensee and an easy walk to Spietz on the lakeside path. Plenty of lake swimming spots close by.
