I began my Camino in Leon after flying in from Madrid and a bus to Leon. This was a welcome rest in a like new hotel in a beautiful historic city. Very modern nice fresh and clean. As a MARRIOTT Gold Member for the last several years Marriott always does a wonderful job and this was no different. I arrived very late after missing my bus in Astorga and after walking several miles from the bus station to the hotel I did not arrive until 10 pm or later and they held my room. Nice job!
We chose this Hotel for it's proximity to the University and were not disappointed. It was clean, well maintained and helpful staff. Good bathroom products and varied breakfast. Being international visitors we had a lot of luggage and a car which we parked in the u/g parking space across the road. But these 2 factors were not really problems. We would recommend the Hotel.
Worst hotel experience ever. After a 27km walk on the Camino de Santiago I arrived here, hot, dusty and tired at 6.30pm. The receptionist,Roberto, shrugged his shoulders and said he was sorry but even though they had my booking.com confirmed reservation unfortunately there were no rooms. He just told me to find another hotel! He refused to take responsibility and said there was no manager on site because it was the weekend. Eventually, after about half an hour he reluctantly agreed to ring around and find me another place to stay. That was unsuccessful so I had to book myself another room on booking.com. They then offered me a complimentary glass of water and called me a taxi. It was despicable behavior. They obviously overbooked the hotel and I lost out because I arrived late. The next hotel receptionist told me the AC hotel are known for overbooking their capacity. I absolutely advise anyone on the Camino or who needs a confirmed reservation to avoid this place. They are unprofessional and do not take their contractual obligations to customers seriously. The postscript to this is at 9pm that night they offered to pay for my replacement hotel! Too little too late in my view.…
I was starting the Camino here and all the accommodation was pre - booked by Camino Ways (excellent by the way) This was a fairly soulless but decent hotel. No pool which would have been nice but large bedroom and very nice bathroom. All in all suited me for a one night stay.
Just one night for a quick stop over. Initially we thought we were the only one in the hotel -so quiet! Rooms were spacious and very clean. Nice room attendant. The woman at registration was fantastic. She is great at her job - so welcoming and helpful. Can’t remember her name but she has short brown hair and speaks very enthusiastically. Breakfast was good but my only criticism was that it got a little busy and some things ran out.
