Booked this at short notice post Covid Lockdown. Not the first time we have been here but even better than before. The hotel has adopted all necessary Covid health suggestions and they have done it very well from disinfecting footwear to even sterilising your room key before it’s given to you. The buffet breakfast has had to be stopped but it’s fine as you made your selection the night before and it’s delivered to your table

The pool has social distancing measures which means more room between loungers etc

The has been a significant refurbishment and if you can stay in a mountain view with balcony room I would suggest that (5th floor) as refurbished and very nice

All in all a great and safe stay

I would also like to thank all the staff for their great attitude during this crisis.

No hesitation in recommending

The best part about Es Moli is Deia. A village sandwiched between the mountains and the cliffside peering over the sea, it’s one of those places for those who love it, there is a deep sadness when parting. But it’s quiet and simple and perhaps not for everyone.

As a hotel, Es Moli is a charming hotel with thoughtful staff, wonderful views and it ticks all of the essential boxes — walking distance to town, rare and delightful private swimming hole a few miles away, nice pool, balconies with perfect views great for drinking wine and playing cards.

What it is - an honest, well priced hotel with kind staff and mostly traditional interiors and okay food. What it isn’t — trendy or refined. For us, on this particular part of our trip, it was perfect. We debating staying at the beautiful Belmond (about 4-5x nightly rate), and we ultimately decided to reserve one of the renovated rooms at Es Moli for 6 nights and spend our extra change on renting boats (Nautical Soller), drinking pricey cocktails listening to live music at La Residencia Belmond, paying a tennis instructor (Amazing — Ariel), and hiking.

Some tips for a great tip: if you are going in high season, lean on the concierge (she had great advice) and book a boat in advance. It’s a perfect afternoon, especially if you head opposite of Deia towards the even more wild edge of the island. We appreciated the recommendation to use Nautical Soller. Do the 2.5 hour hike to Soller, and have lunch in town at the end at a delightful vegetarian spot (to take a break from Spanish food). Make reservations in advance to visit their seaside location, as it has a fixed capacity. Walk down to the town tennis court and book a few lessons with Ariel - he’s wonderful and fun. Have dinner at bens d'avall which just earned its Michelin Star after 3 generations in the kitchen. Arrive at 7:30pm (with a reservation) and enjoy an absolutely stunning view of the water. Make a lunch reservation in Soller Port at Patiki Beach, where the food is surprisingly exceptional (ordered an overflowing green salad and perfectly prepared seabags) and have the exceptional natural white wine by a female Mallorcan winemaker, Coti. It’s the best bottle of island white wine we had all trip.

We originally were coming to a wedding in Deia two years ago and staying at the Es Moli, but due to Covid we had to postpone twice. We made it this time and returned last week.
The hotel is set up in the mountains, overlooking the hills, Deia and the sea in the distance. Each room is well equipped with toiletries, bath robes and mini bar. You have to pre order breakfast and select a time to go to the restaurant to eat. Apparently this is all due to Covid restrictions. There is plenty of choice.
The weather sadly was mixed, so could not always eat on the outside veranda.
There is a large swimming pool with sunbeds bearing in mind due to being so high in the hills not all the beds get the sun. There are different terraces to sit and a bar serving drinks and food.
Es Moli has a private cove about a twenty minute bus journey away, the road is windy with a big drop down the cliffs! Once at the cove again there are terraces with sunbeds (again lots in the shade) the only way into the sea is by a ladder as it is all rocky. Twice during the week this area was fenced off so you could not swim due to the rough seas. Again there is a bar which serves both drinks and food.
We only ate in the hotel once, sadly did not think the food was that nice and expensive. We walked the fifteen minute walk up further into the hills to Deia where there are many restaurants serving great food at realistic prices.
All the staff at the hotel we found were very helpful and friendly.
There is a large bar with lots of comfortable seating.
This is a hotel where one can definitely relax providing the weather is sunny to be able to sit outside. We both had a wonderful week, but have decided we would rather be nearer the sea next time we return to Majorca.

These are strange times to be travelling but the staff could not do more to help us stay safe and relaxed.
Cleaning, distancing and care about food and drink preparation is so thoughtful.
Masks have to be worn unless at a table or by the pool but it’s no problem, and a good reminder.
Breakfast is pre-ordered, everything else is from QR codes.
The hotel grounds are as beautiful as they were 4 years ago when we stayed here but the investment and card that’s gone into refurbing some of the communal areas and rooms. They are fantastic.
I could not recommend the Es Moli more highly to stay right now or anytime in the future.

Staying at this hotel at the moment 5th day no sun beds around pool area at 10 o’clock towels on every bed but only 2 people. Management ignore there own rules. Just not good enough!
The location and the gardens are beautiful but the hotel are letting themselves down.

Dear eahc2018, Thanks for taking the time to review your stay at our hotel. We understand your comment that we also make ours. The number of sun loungers has been reduced to ensure social distance. Apart from the sun loungers next to the pool, there are three nearby terraces with sun loungers and 15,000 m2 of garden on the lower level. Standards are more efficient with everyone's collaboration. Sincerely, With our best wishes, Agustín Risco, General Manager

As you will see from many of the reviews this is a lovely tranquil hotel set in a stunning location with breathtaking views. If your looking for a relaxed stay I have no hesitation in recommending. A mainly mature clientele with what appeared to be a lot of returning visitors.

Lovely pool area with a relaxed vibe, in lush gardens, just keep the insect repellant on if sunbathing close to the greenery!

We had a balcony room in the main house which was lovely and accurate to the pictures shown on the site but what we would have expected for 350 euros night room rate. A nespresso machine would have been nice as personal preference.

The main bar area looks like it has been refurbished recently and was a nice place to relax, with reasonable prices for the a hotel but surprising little used, we were quite often the only ones in it.

The only issue we had was booking meals for the two restaurants, out of the four nights we used the hotel facilities our booking got lost in the ether somewhere on two occasions which ended up with a uncomfortable conversation with the head waiters esp the Tapas one to convince them we had booked. They did squeeze us in but it wasn't ideal start to the evening.
The problem being is the way they book the meals is antiquated, the bookings are taken at reception hand balled on the respective list then presumabley given to the individual restaurants in question. This needs dragging into the modern world, when they enter the booking into a spreadsheet which is set up to ping you a confirmation time etc on a registered email or text, everyone knows where they stand then. We did see a couple turned away for a similar reason.
The trouble is if you can't get in what are your options? its a 15/20 min walk into Deia to see if you can get a walk in anywhere decent and in high season thats difficult.

A 60 euro 30 minute metered taxi ride from the airport pulls you up to the door of Es Moli. A very authentic family run hotel set in the beautiful mountain village of Deia. We booked an annex room which we had a few problems with but these we dealt with very professionally and immediately by the excellent manager Augustino. A word of warning, the annex rooms are accessible by a very steep set of steps so be warned. The air conditioning was great the bed super comfortable and shower really good. Breakfast was a buffet style served on the most beautiful terrace ever. The waiting staff were ever attentive and very professional. The pool area was very relaxing with plenty of comfy loungers dotted around not only the pool but perfectly manicured gardens too. The lunch menu is really good too. The village of Deia is about a 15 minute walk away and if you've got your best clothes on the hotel will drive you into town for 10 euros as taxis are very scarce. We stayed one night in the main hotel and the rooms were excellent Everything you need is in the village including a couple of small supermarkets for water or a few beers. It was our first visit to Es Moli and already we are hoping to book again for next year. This time we will book a room in the main hotel. All the staff from the manger down were brilliant very approachable , happy and professional

We have been visiting Deia for 20 years and are sorry that we have not tried this hotel before - as it is a hidden gem. Stylish and spaciously laid out with quality fittings and furniture as well as lovely, unpretentious staff , we were impressed with all aspects from the from the friendly check in, spacious comfortable bedroom, large lounge, warm pool, delicious looking pool snacks as well as lavish breakfast buffet.

Ample parking was provided with well kept gardens and a pretty entrance.

Lifts and stairs to bedrooms that were well laid out around wide/spacious corridors and small seating areas en route to bedrooms.

Air conditioned rooms with comfortable furnishings and beds, large new bathrooms with enormous showers and food quality towels, robes and hand/body washes

Room service food was exceptional and professionally served and quickly cleared.

The breakfast buffet was fantastic and included cereals, juices, cold meats, cheeses, pastries, jams and fruits as well as hot buffet of bacon, sausages etc, a chef served fresh poached eggs and omelettes to order, plus lovely porridge and a vast array of breads.

We had a look at the history of the hotel and note that it has been open for 60 years. It is clear that the owners have reinvested substantially over time to keep the place so pristine, clean and stylish.

Exceptional management was clearly evident in all aspects and the staff attitudes clearly reflected this. Every single person we encountered was pleasant and polite as well as hard working.

We have a house in the SW but we will certainly stay at this hotel again when we next visit Deia and hope to try the restaurant in the evenings.

This is our second visit to this hotel and resort. There is no way we can find fault with any aspect of our stay. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean, the half board dining option gives such variety every night and breakfast on the terrace is a lovely experience. All the staff are so pleasant and helpful and therefore it would be wrong to single out any individuals, as they all go above and beyond to ensure that you are looked after.

The location of the hotel is idyllic and we will definitely be returning in the near future.

Es Moli is a truly beautiful hotel in a lovely location and run by fabulous staff. The breakfasts are a real treat, with a superb selection of fruit, hot food, cereals and bread. The eggs (and pancakes) cooked to order were great. Of the two main restaurants, I preferred the tapas (note - the portions are much bigger than in tapas restaurants in England!) but Jardi is also excellent. To finish any meal, the home made ice creams are wonderful.
Deia is a nice little village with some excellent restaurants catering for all budgets, so we ate both in the hotel and in other venues.
I highly recommend Es Moli.
