The hotel La Bobadilla, a Royal Hideaway Hotel 5 * GL dresses itself as an Andalusian town to transmit its visitors an experience of authentic luxury around the Sierra de Loja, between Granada and the Costa del Sol. A unique enclave that, being accessible from Seville, Córdoba and Malaga airport has become a symbol of the Slow Travel concept. Like guests, each stay is exclusive and different from each other, at La Bobadilla, a Royal Hideaway Hotel. All of them combine stone floors, hardwoods and marble bathrooms in a different way to transport the visitor to enjoy a unique experience. The hotel prioritizes the gastronomic offer because Andalusia is about flavors, smells and nuances; and the restaurants La Finca - one of the bests in Granada- and El Cortijo, combine ingredients from the land to enjoy culinary experiences in a unique environment. During your stay you can enjoy spacious gardens and a more than 1000 m² swimming pool, a modern spa with all kind of treatments, free Wi-Fi, a multi-sports court, as well as a wide range of outdoor sports activities. Waking up because the sun sneaks between columns and Mudejar windows, leaning out of the window and seeing fields of olive groves and holm oaks up to the horizon, will be just the first of many emotions in this hotel with carefuly chosen Mudejar architecture. A symbol in Europe for romantic and slow travel in a premium key. The only luggage required is the desire to disconnect, discover and enjoy the wonderful environment that surrounds the complex.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed from 29th of June for 4 nights with 2 adults and our 19 year old son. Location: We arrived on an early morning flight, rented a car and less then an hour later, we were having lunch with a beautiful view to the gardens and pool. The hotels is located close to 2 highways which makes it an ideal base to discover the surroundings. We visited the Caminito del Rey hiking trail, El Torcal national park and Granada. We had diner in Rio Frio on the first evening (about 15 minutes driving), in Granada the second evening and in the hotel on the last 2 nights. A rental car is handy if you want to do some discovering. From this hotel we continued our trip to Cordoba. Check in: Very friendly from the arrival at the parking lot and very smooth and welcoming check in. Rooms: We had a junior suite at -3 from the reception area with a garden and terrace. Classic interior and very big room with all modern facilities and a very nice bathroom with great shower. The bath room is open plan. Great and silent airco. Grounds and pool: Pure magic. The garden is very well maintained with beautiful sun loungers, so much space and so relaxing. There are 2 extra seating areas close to the bar which are very comfortable as well. The swimming pool area only opens at 11.00 and for us this could be a little earlier as we are early risers. And if a pool opens this late, at least the cleaning of the pool could be finished and everything ready to welcome guests. This is personal and I can imagine, most people like to sleep in. Breakfast: Excellent breakfast with a buffet with many healthy food options and a menu for the eggs and other options. The toast with avocado was our favorite. Restaurants: We did have 2 great diners with an amazing view, excellent service and great food. Spa: 2 small swimming pools with 2 different temperatures, a sauna and steam bath and a very welcoming gentleman at the reception of the spa. Parking: The hotel has a free parking with plenty of place Bar: We did watch football inside but our favorite was the bar at the little plaza next to the chapel. Great service, great drinks and such a nice atmosphere. My husband and son played tennis and padel. We did not have the time to do the biking tours or to do some walking on the property. The property is huge so we will have to come back to discover the rest. Everybody was very nice and welcoming so we hope to return.

It must be our fourth if not fifth time at this hotel. We go when we can afford it but often when we can't! Why? It is an oasis of calm, excellent service and is immediately relaxing which is helpful if you are there on a short break. Good food across breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lovely pool for a cooling dip. Not cheap, but when you look at the quality you are paying for it is fair value for money.

The Hotel staff are welcoming and caring. the rooms are all individually different and spacious, there is no noise at all from other rooms. Breakfast is the best I have ever experienced as is all the hotel food. The space given to guests at the huge pool is amazing!

Very nice property out in nowhere . Beautiful view of the mountains and the surroundings. Facility , grounds and the rooms are amazing. Considering the property just opened for the season after COVID we expected more enthusiastic staff. There is lack for personal touch everywhere starting from reception, to the spa, to the swimming pool , to the dinner. Only area we found more personal touch was the breakfast area where along with great breakfast there was more attention and personal touch. It is sad to see such a beautiful property that is poorly managed. That is the difference between 4 and 5 star property.

Enjoyed such a fantastic stay here that we returned at the tail end of our trip for another 3 nights. La Bobadilla is a tranquil and luxurious paradise, just 45 minute drive from Malaga airport. A friendly but assuringly Covid secure welcome during which anything handled (luggage, credit card machine, room key, etc) is discreetly wiped down in front of you. Check-in is the airy lobby over a glass of ice cold lemonade. All rooms are slightly different but we lucked out with a huge junior suite, decked out in a traditional and comfortable Spanish style but still in great condition. We loved the large bathroom stocked with White Company products, with double vanity and enormous bathtub. My only suggestion would be a Nespresso machine which are now standard in decent hotel rooms. Breakfast was fantastic everyday and we loved chatting to the hostess in the mornings. Most of the buffet produce is local to the region with a few a la carte treats too. We ate dinner at El Cortijo and found it great but not remarkable enough to eat there every night. A car is essential unless you are happy staying on the property- the driveway alone is 3km long. The pool area is undoubtedly the highlight. I have rarely experienced such a peaceful and expansive space to relax. The loungers are spread out and the pool is vast so you never feel on top of anyone. The music is of the ambient spa type and quiet enough that you can still hear the birds and occasionally rustling trees. A deserved Leading Hotel of the World.
