Verdura ā a paradisiacal expanse on Sicilyās stunning southwest coast ā is their flagship resort. 230 hectares of sun-blushed Mediterranean coastline, countryside and hotel: space for the Forte ethos to shine. Insightful hospitality quietly caters to every desire. Sleek, environmentally sensitive architecture fuses with Latin terracottas, ochres and violets. Local charm with universal style. Italianate furnishings, breeze-brushed white muslins and, always, a sea view. Verduraās vast scale and escapist atmosphere afford endless indulgence and choice. Choice to unfurl in its capacious spa, or lap its infinity pool. To play tennis among its orange groves. A round or two of golf. To master Sicilian cooking, or simply savour it by the sea. To explore Verduraās 12th-century tower; helicopter across Etna; or stroll along its private beach. Itās your decision, at the Fortesā invitation.

Verdura Resort is lauded for its extensive amenities, including pools, a spa, golf courses, and various dining options, though some guests have experienced service inconsistencies. The resort's cleanliness and immaculate maintenance are often highlighted, with its location offering stunning sea views that contribute to a serene atmosphere.
While the spacious rooms with impressive views are well-received, a few guests suggest they could benefit from updates. The service is generally excellent, with occasional lapses, and despite the high cost, many acknowledge the resort's value for its unique and scenic allure.

There are so many words we could use to say how absolutely fantastic this resort is and yes it is a resort . One which you could never leave but that would be a shame as there is much to see In this corner of Sicily. The resort has everything golf tennis water sports spa. Restaurants galore. The wonderful thing about the place is there is room to roam even I guess In the busier summer months there is a huge amount of space that nowhere would feel too crowded. Our room a deluxe had the joy of an outside terrace with sun beds in the garden so if peace is what you want itās easy to find .
The best start to the day is the lovely buongiorno restaurant. Gianfranco and all the staff there deserve a
special mention always full of tips and useful knowledge. The more casual pizza restaurant at the golf club is a welcome place to eat for a more casual evening and living it up at the fish restaurant is a must for a special evening . If sunsets are your thing as they are mine , then you are in luck at verdura . Every restaurant has a sunset view . Special to enjoy with an aperetivo before dinner .
Slight gripe would be cost of
Paddle tennis courts ā¦ 75 euros for an hour . Excessive cost when all the courts were lying empty Iām sure because of the heat ā¦that said a use of the spa for your hour and half each day if you want it was free and a lovely thing to do in the early evening . Go see the sites at argiento go to the nearby town of Sciacca for a look round the pottery shops but come back to a welcome every time at Verdura.

Letās start with the positives. The property is stunning. Much better looking than what I was expecting. For some reason the pictures available online donāt do it justice: I got the impression of an industrial-looking concrete resort with cheap finishes. In reality, itās a charm. I would strongly recommend one of the sea front rooms or suites; watching the sunset from your own patio with unobstructed view is well worth the extra cost. Finishes are showing a little bit of age, but overall they are still excellent. The resortās facilities, particularly the pool and the SPA, are also beautiful.
One big caveat: we were there in September and occupancy was very low. I am not sure how this resort would feel when itās at full occupancy in super high season... There is a concrete risk it could feel like a mass resort (itās massive).
Service overall was very good, with some room for improvement. Breakfast service was particularly slow and a little chaotic, but thatās understandable given that due to COVID regulations they couldnāt run a buffet. One of the beach attendants was full-on rude, but thankfully his colleagues were great.
Food was good, but not great and quite frankly overpriced. This might be an issue for extended stays, given there is very little around. On the other hand, the bar upstairs was excellent.
I would certainly consider it again for a weekend getaway in mid/low season. Probably not for a long stay or for high season.

Dear eleph4nt, Thank you for choosing Verdura Resort for your holiday and for your feedback. We appreciate the compliments extended to the various facilities of the Resort such as the Spa and we are pleased to read the positive feedback overall in regards to the service. This has been indeed a strange year for all and breakfast was probably the most challenged outlet of them all considering we could not offer our famed buffet and its offerings, but instead had to bring the experience to the table; we will take this as a learning opportunity. On another note, we sadly read about the experience not so positive related to the service offered at the beach by one of the lifeguards and we regret leaving you with a poor impression on this occasion. Thanks again for the constructive feedback and we hope to welcome you back next year under "normal" circumstances. Yours faithfully, Giacomo Battafarano General Manager

Fabulous first visit to Verdura 13-18 September. Beautiful location and particularly impressive at making all guests feel well looked after and secure while maintaining the atmosphere of a proper holiday during Covid 19. The resort is so spacious that social distancing was easy, rooms are spacious and most accessed from external staircases. The Pool is vast. The food is very good although like most top hotels you need to suspend all normal attitudes to value, prices for drinks and food are top end. The spa is very good, book time in the Thalassotherapy pools surrounded by flower gardens, the treatments (Sicilian earth and Sea & Sicilian aroma massage) were first class.
Beautiful sunsets and delicious cocktails with canapƩs were the perfect end to the day either by the sea at Amare or in the Granita bar.
I travelled with my adult daughter and we returned relaxed and rejuvenated.

Number of golf resorts style themselves as 5 Star. Verdura is the real McCoy. Two challenging golf courses, well designed in that the better golfer you are the more challenging they become. The East course now reopen after three years of repairs and remodelling following massive storm damage and right up to the standard of the West ( which is the old composite course where the Sicilian Open has been held). Marvellous practice facilities and a fun little 9 hole par three course ideal for beginners or those wishing to sharpen their short game. Very friendly and efficient shop and golf concierge. Play was mostly in 2 balls with a lot of husband and wife duos and pace of play very good for a resort. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious and well equipped. The food was the best we have had in any golf resort and quite possibly as good as we have had on any holiday anywhere. There are two main restaurants and four more informal restaurants that may or may not be open depending on the weather. Food tremendous everywhere although don't assume that the less formal restaurants will be cheap. Verdura is a luxury resort and the prices match. As the saying goes if you need to ask how much you shouldn't be going. Service throughout the resort was excellent - this is only the second hotel I have come across where all the staff try hard to remember your name - very impressive. This is not a place for a blokes golf trip with a few beers, more the sort of place to take your golfing wife for a wedding anniversary. Tips - fly to Palermo rather than Catania if you can, the basic rooms are more than good enough for a couple, book tee times when you book the holiday, avoid Italian school holidays ( the resort is more than just golf and can get very busy). And shop around for a holiday quote, we saved Ā£1000 going through a golf specialist rather than an Italian specialist. Very very good indeed.

Verdura is a class act. Despite the number of rooms the resort never feels overcrowded, with guests split between the pool, beach, spa and golf course. Similarly with 3 restaurants on site and a couple of bars you can always find somewhere to eat or drink.
We were extremely well looked after at the Granita bar, and the Liola restaurant (by far my favourite restaurant in the resort). The staff were charming, and incredibly efficient.
Just a couple of things they could look at changing. Firstly, I think all hotels should be moving to filtered water (still and sparkling) - itās first base eco- friendly. Secondly, we were 2 guys, but the flip flops, bath robes and slippers in the room were all sized for a man and a woman, which showed a lack of attention to detail.
But these were minor niggles - we had a wonderful stay and will return. Weāre due to stay in the new Rocco Forte hotel in Palermo later in the week, so hope that this maintains the standards set by Verdura.

Dear Guide663368, Thank you for your lovely review! We are very pleased you enjoyed your time at Verdura Resort and can't wait to have you back. The resort has an extensive sustainability plan, one of which is to review how we deliver drinking water around the 230 hectares of land. I must admit it does not come without its challenges yet we are currently working on some ideas. As for the flip flops, this is a very good point; thank you for sharing your feedback. Kindest regards, Giacomo Battafarano General Manager

Starting with honest basics, this is not a 5* hotel. Realistically it is 4* but even then youād be surprised. They have only one ārestaurantā for lunch: the pool bar where they expect you to queue - for salad or burgers.
They have two restaurants in the evening but was told, for the first three days, they were full. When we finally got a table they werenāt full. It took three days before anyone said yes to anything.
The pricing is 5* with local gin and tonic at ā¬18 but the service isnāt, every evening having to wait for our table to be laid before being seated. Every breakfast there must have been a queue of ca. 8 groups just waiting to be seated, let alone served.
The nearest local restaurant we were recommended cost ā¬140 to get to so youāre left with little choice elsewhere.
The tin chairs lack any style but maybe youāll go for golf. Youād have to love golf at 9 holes for ā¬145 but maybe the buggy was ā¬100 of that. Who knows.
The same staff are moved around the hotel throughout the day so must be exhausted but the furniture, service, presentation and willingness to say no to everything all make this a substandard 4* hotel charging 5* prices.
Live music in the evening is good and the rooms are fine albeit the bed linen is better on a BA plane.
It was a shame but next year hopefully more choices will be available.

Dear taspan66, I am grateful for your comments as such information enables us to continually monitor and improve the service we are offering. The team and I are sorry if we may have left you with a poor impression on this occasion.Ā Ā Ā Covid reality has influenced how we have been doing business thisĀ year and in line with that, we had to follow a number of protocols. Restaurants being one of them where to maintain social distancing we had to suggest booking slots.Ā Breakfast occasionally challenged us with guests wanting to enjoy breakfast at the same time. Normally our service is exceptional and the difficulties you experienced are not a fair reflection of our usual high standard of customer care.Ā As for your golf experience and to clarify what you paid for, the green fee was 60ā¬, buggy & bag rental 55ā¬ and theĀ purchase of two sets of golf balls 30ā¬; apologiesĀ if these were not properly explained to you at the time.Ā We believe the prices are in line with similar European venues.Ā In closing, may I thank you, once again, for taking the time to share your experience.Ā Happy to discuss your experienceĀ in person, if you wish,Ā hoping to be able to restore yourĀ confidence.Ā We do hope you will choose to stay with us again and we are confident that your next stay will be pleasurable in every respect.Ā Ā Kind regards, Giacomo Battafarano General Manager

We had a very nice stay at the Rocco Forte Verdura resort.
The staff is outstanding and really always very helpful and quick.
Rooms are good size and all have a nice view to the Mediterranean Sea..
There were only 3 restaurants open at the time of our stay, but is was very early in the season, one of them was not really suitable for evenings.
The SPA is very good with the Thalassa Therapy pools, but I would suggest to offer more towels in the changing rooms, as only one towel per guest for the use of steam room, sauna and a clean shower afterwards is really difficult. And please put some towels for the use of the sauna.
Housekeeping is very good and nice, but please stop turning on all the lights (6!) in the room after service. The guest has to switch them off manually afterwards.
Breakfast was very good and all you can wish for!
Golf courses are in very good condition and very good maintenance. Great complement to the team of the Proshop and golf service. Thank you!

If you want to spend a luxurious golf holiday in Sicily, you've come to the right place at the Verdura Resort in Sciacca. The rooms are very spacious and have great views of the sea and parts of the golf course. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired and the staff makes sure that you feel welcome and at home from day one. The two 18-hole golf courses are very well maintained and wonderful to play. Points of criticism are the lack of signage on the west course and the lack of toilets on both courses. On a golf course of this category, one can expect that there will be an opportunity to go to the toilet after 9 holes, which unfortunately is not the case. In addition, the joints in the marble bathrooms should also be thoroughly cleaned, so that the patina that has set in is removed and no mold develops. Despite these criticisms, we really enjoyed our stay there. Thanks very much!

I must start this review by saying that I never expected to find in Sicily a place that is geared towards the American tourist. Donāt get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the approach but itās not common to see in Europe a place that is so out of Europe. Letās start with the āNon mandatory 10% gratuityā placed under the total line of any invoice you get at the bar or at the different restaurants (to be fair, when you check out, you can request those charges to be taken out of the final bill), the food, the way the wine is served, and the menus are very much as any resort in the US. You will find yourself like in Naples FL, NC - SC golf resorts, Pebble Beach et al. The European flavor is out of here.
The staff is extremely well trained, the service is impeccable, the quality of the food they serve is good, bar offering and the wine list is ample. The rooms are standard for a beach/golf resort, nothing fancy; the views are magnificent and there are ample activities you can do (tennis, paddle, trekking, horseback riding plus visiting all the fantastic archaeological sites that surround the place). The SPA is well set and the pools in the hotel and the SPA are very good. The beach is not the highlight of the resort.
The golf courses have a great design and the views from the tees and greens are lovely. Unfortunately for the resort, this year has been scarce in rain, so the fairways and the roughs are very dry and the course is hard (good if you hit it straight, youāll feel like a pro hitting drives of 300+ yards). Wisely, they decided to use the available and permitted water to keep the greens and their surroundings in perfect condition. In contrast to all, the cost of playing is extremely reasonable for what youāre getting. Casa de Campo in DR, or any other beautiful and scenic golf course will run around USD 300 per round. These are much more reasonable.
In conclusion, if you are Ok with a US resort far away from home, this is a place to come. Be prepared to pay US prices in euros for something you can get much closer to home, probably not with the views and the surrounding scenery but for much less money and less flying.

In conclusion, if you are Ok with a US resort far away from home, this is a place to come. Be prepared to pay US prices in euros for something you can get much closer to home, probably not with the views and the surrounding scenery but for much less money and less flying.

Yes, Iron and ironing boards are available on request.
Apologies, I just saw your question now as Iām not checking my tripadvisor account on a regular basis. :( Hope you found the information you needed on their website.
It has beautiful water and the beach is sandy. Although the sand is not powder soft and therefore not the best for toddlers to play in. A few tiny stones on the first steps into the water, but sandy afterwards.
Access to spa (this year sauna & steam bath have to remain closed) is complimentary, with access to the thalasso pools & indoor pool. A slot needs to be reserved due to the limited number of guests (8) allowed in the space at the same time.
Half board includes a 3-course dinner which can be chosen from the a-la-carte menu. During my last stay now in mid September two restaurants (Amare & Zagara) were open. Drinks arenāt included. Full board includes lunch at the pool-side restaurant as well.
All rooms & suites are facing the sea, which is nice and have a great size. Entry category is on the first floor with balcony and Superior category always on the ground floor with terrace. Just depend what you prefer ;)
Personally like the Superior Deluxe Seafront Rooms, as they have a beautiful bath with floor-to-ceiling windows and natural daylight!
It is for everybody, boys and girls
