My partner and I stayed at Aria Spa Retreat in Cima, Como, this June, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The hotel is pure luxury, surrounded by breathtaking views of Lake Como, creating the perfect setting for a romantic getaway.
We were delighted when the hotel upgraded our room—it was spacious, beautifully decorated, and featured a stunning balcony overlooking the lake. Waking up to those views was truly magical!
The spa experience was exceptional. The massages were some of the best I’ve ever had—deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. The spa facilities were immaculate, and the overall atmosphere was serene and calming, making it easy to unwind completely.
The staff were wonderful—warm, attentive, and always ensuring we had everything we needed. They made us feel so special throughout our stay.
Dining at the retreat was another highlight. The food was exquisite, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the lakefront setting added an extra layer of charm to every meal.

Everything is perfect, I already came here in April and a great stay, it is for sure the best hotel you can book on the Lugano Lake. Whenever I look in this area, this is the one I want to book. The suites in the hotel are really feeling worth the money spent which is something that usually do not match in other similar hotels. They have pleasing design and great domoptical features and they are really spacious. Staff is great and made our stay perfect :)

I wanted to go somewhere special for my wife's special birthday and Aria was simply stunning in every way. The location is breathtaking, the modern design is tastefully done, you have real time and space to relax. The facilities are exceptional, particularly the huge spa space. The food is of a really high quality. We enjoyed le Joie de Vivre, and dolce vita, although la Musa was just a different class. From the lead up to planning the trip through to every member of staff we encountered, there was such a can do and helpful attitude. Staff were friendly and extremely professional without ever making you feel uncomfortable. Given how hard it is to find excellent staff, Aria has done just that, and they are all trained so well. Their attitude is to do everything they can to bring joy, happiness, relaxation and that something special to guests. They really go above and beyond. We're fortunate to have enjoyed some lovely hotels, but this has topped everything due to consistent excellence and professionalism from all the staff. On my wife's birthday, the lovely private spa cabin was a totally special and unique experience in a stunning location. I may now leave someone out, in which case I am sorry for that. But particular stand outs were Matteo and Tecla in concierge as well as the whole front desk team, other Matteo the restaurant manager, the two other waiters who served us at la Musa, the remarkable Christian and lovely Giulia at dolce vita, and Roman in le Joie de Vivre, the women in the spa. But back to Matteo in concierge who provided me with so much help over the last few months as I planned the surprise trip for my wife - what to do, where to go and catering for our dietary requirements. The way all the staff smile and do their best deserves a special mention for everyone so I am sorry if I have missed out someone. Aria promised an unforgettable experience for my wife's special birthday and they have gone above even my high expectations. Many many thanks.

Aria Retreat and Spa is a wonderful spa getaway on the banks of Lake Lugano, although some guides confusingly say it is on Lake Como. We had never heard of it and were looking for somewhere to chill out quite late in the day after a hectic July. We were slightly apprehensive because it was described as being in the grounds of a much larger resort, Parco San Marco, and what worried us most was noise. But nothing to worry about-apart from a little noise of children splashing around on the water slide in the afternoon, the resort practically did not exist as Aria is at the highest point of the property looking down on the resort and Lake Lugano. Fabulous views! We had a wonderful large suite with our balcony having panoramic views of the lake and really could just have stayed there for our three days. But we got to use the resort facilities, Aria had its own small beach area from which we could go swimming in the lake, and then back up to relax, have a massage in the excellent spa (we had some wonderful treatments) and relax some more before going to have dinner. We dined at Musa, their Michelin-listed restaurant as well as two dinners at La Dolce Vita Lounge, which is aptly named! Brilliant meals with exceptional service-you can even get sticky toffee pudding, which is a speciality of the chef, Carmine, who worked in England! I recommend it. I also need to mention breakfast, which was a sumptuous feast served in the suite every day. Wonderful to eat looking out onto the lake, just taking your time. We cannot praise the staff and service enough. Difficult to name everyone, but Christian at La Dolce Vita was great-keen sense of humour and well-honed in the art of mixing cocktails and generally very informative. We came across Fabio at breakfast in the suite, at Musa and at La Dolce Vita-he was pretty much everywhere with his infectious smile and enthusiasm. Our massage therapists, Elisabetta and Nimet (sorry if spelling wrong!) looked after us expertly with different treatments on both days. Finally, I must mention the art collection around the property. A lot of pieces which made you smile, and a great collection of sculptures of one of our favourite animals, the elephant. We enjoyed talking to Matteo at Reception about the collection. One big favourite was the tunnel leading from Aria to the resort. Its lighting changes colour every few seconds and, as we learnt, it's great to spend time in the tunnel watching every change: you become part of the installation yourself!

We stayed here for four nights in September. We travel extensively and this has to be one of the most comfortable and beautiful hotels we’ve stayed in.
The hotel only has 15 suites and so the attention to detail is exquisite. We loved every minute of our stay.
Every suite looks out onto Lake Lugano and breakfast is brought to you in the morning where you feast on a breakfast banquet on your terrace.
There is a sitting area with a small kitchen and then a separate bedroom with a bathroom off the bedroom. The only thing missing was a small table to rest your wine glass on as you soaked in the beautiful deep bath after a day sightseeing or a day spent at the outdoor pool.
There are plenty of dining establishments within the area and a magic tunnel will take you there! We also ate a couple of times in The Aria, albeit a small menu.
The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive and on arrival they arranged for us to visit Como and have a private boat tour. They took care of all the transportation and it was all so well organised via what’s app.
We spent a lot of our time at the pool resting and sunbathing after a busy two week walking holiday in Switzerland. The pool area is quiet with several sun loungers and has the most amazing views.
We loved every minute of our stay at The Aria Retreat and would highly recommend it to others.
It really is a little piece of paradise and the staff are a credit to the hotel.

Wow, what an amazing hotel! The highlight of our trip around the Italian lakes.
The penthouse suite we were very kindly allocated was beyond incredible. The view over the lake whilst we eat breakfast is something we will never forget. All staff super helpful and friendly.
We stayed at the end of what was a very busy holiday and Aria was truly the perfect place to unwind and relax. Everything we wanted for our two night stay was on site. Spa, really impressive, would go as far as saying the best spa we have visited. The massages were heavenly- we didn’t want to leave! We dined in the two restaurants, food and service impeccable.
The hotel is in a perfect location, we enjoyed the peaceful setting after staying at Lake Como. Being able to relax by the lake site and enjoy a swim in the lake was a highlight. Would definitely recommend hiring a boat for a couple of hours to get out on the water.
We need to find an excuse to come back, thanks for an amazing stay!

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon at this beautiful resort. From the moment we drove into the luxurious garage, we knew our stay was going to be unbeatable. The reception staff is friendly, accommodating, pleasant and a joy to communicate with. They were so helpful with helping us book reservations, reply to emails quickly, answer the phone right away, and always great us with a big smile. Our suite is indescribable and unlike any other place we have ever stayed. Aria Resort and Spa did not forget any unique touches to add to their rooms - we were jokingly laughing that we wish our room was our condo back home. Without going into further detail (although I could), please do yourself a favour and look at the pictures online, on Instagram, and their website. The Resort and rooms look identical to the magazine worthy pictures. The bar, restaurants, and spa were all a great experience. We genuinely give our stay a 10/10 for exceptional service, élite accommodations, breathtaking views, classiest experience, and the list goes on.

My original plan was to stay at Lake Como, but we picked this place because the pictures looked nicer than the places available in Como.
I have to say that this place far exceeded expectations. We got the 2 bedroom suite and it was modern, well-appointed and kept super clean. The bed was super nice and I slept really well every single night. The lake is gorgeous, the views are gorgeous. The Dolce Vita restaurant was the best on the property; and an evening dinner offers spectacular views.
The staff was incredibly friendly, very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure that our stay was excellent. I would 100% come back again multiple times.
I stayed here for 4 nights in the penthouse suite and it topped my experiences with even the four seasons resorts. We visited Como on one of the days and were so happy we chose this place - which is 30 minutes away from Como. Como was swarming with tourists, whereas this place was calm, peaceful and just perfect.
