We had a very nice stay at Miramare. Its location in the small, car-free fishing village of Sant'Angelo allowed my wife and I to unwind after some busy days of sightseeing earlier in our vacation. If you're looking for excellent sea views, quiet rooms, and relaxing hot springs, look no further.

We noticed some other reviews note that they felt this hotel "oversold" itself in the sense that it pins itself as a 5 star hotel. We didn't get that impression at all. The staff was always ready to lend a helping hand, the food and drinks were top notch, and the accommodations were lovely (the shower and bed were fantastic). If we had any questions or needed anything, the staff was there to help at a moment's notice. We were celebrating our honeymoon, and they even had a nice cool bottle of bubbly waiting for us upon arrival - such a nice touch!

Sure, it may take a few minutes to get picked up by the golf cart to drive you back to the hotel from the thermal pools. Sure, it may take a moment to get a cappuccino at breakfast. Sure, maybe the occasional breeze might blow your tablecloth a bit (we saw that mentioned in another review, and had a great laugh about how ridiculous that was). Well, guess what? As with anywhere, some things may take a second, and that's alright. If you encounter any issues, rest assured the excellent staff is on standby to help make your trip great. This hotel is in an extraordinary location that encourages you to relax. If you're not ready to relax a bit, perhaps consider staying in Napoli. For us, we were ready to relax, and Miramare really made that happen. Thanks everyone!

PS - if you're looking for a great meal in the town of Sant'Angelo, go to Da Pasquale. The pizza was exceptional.

Spectacular views, sea and spa. The reception needs to be improved. The reception was unprofessional upon arrival in the late morning of August 22, 2023, the person at the reception did not want to accompany us to explain the facilities' services, telling us to contact the lifeguard. Lifeguard who I managed to track down by pure chance only 10 minutes after arrival. At the reception they had said that the 1/2 board was fully booked (when I had booked by telephone they had said that there was no problem) in any case it was not true as confirmed by the waiter who on August 23rd told us that there was availability. The dinner on August 23rd was salty (it can happen but they didn't apologize). It is unacceptable that the customer has to pay 10-12 euros to a private company for the electric scooter from the S. Angelo taxi station to the hotel and vice versa. It should be the establishment that provides a free service for customers. On the day of check-out at the reception they added an extra 100 euros to the bill for dinner on August 22nd, but we had not had dinner because they had said that the half board was full on that day. The room was nice with a view on the sea. My overall rating is 8/10 for the scenarios, but the reception, dinner and scooter which should be free need to be improved.

We spent two nights at Miramare the last weekend of May. We were welcomed into a beautiful place, the staff were kind and attentive, as it should be for a hotel of this level. The location is exceptional, with a terrace overlooking Capri and the Sorrento peninsula. The room (Junior Suite) was well furnished, spacious and very bright.
The breakfast is very rich, an entire table dedicated to fresh desserts and one dedicated to savory ones, with local cheese and ricotta specialities. And then yogurt and fresh fruit at will.
The only small negative detail was the treatment dedicated to celiac guests (like myself). In fact, despite being notified well in advance of my arrival, they were unable to prepare fresh gluten-free desserts, but only a selection of packaged preparations which, when compared to the treatment reserved for "non-celiacs", clearly did not stand up to the comparison. Frankly in a hotel of this level, I would have expected something more. However, the service staff was notified of this "small disappointment" and promised to improve this aspect as soon as possible. So if you are a celiac customer, mention this review and remind them what they promised.

Finally, a little inconvenient is also the fact that you cannot get to the hotel with your own car. Given the location of the structure, right in the center of Sant'Angelo, in the ZTL area, you are obliged to leave it in the paid car park and pay for the electric vehicle transfer to the hotel. The sea view, however, is priceless, and the things to do in the surrounding area are so many and so beautiful, that even without taking the car, you'll be fine for a weekend.

For the rest, enjoy your holiday in Ischia, because it's always worth it!!!

I am disappointed to say that our stay at The Miramare was not a good experience. To start, I will say the staff that greeted us were very welcoming and this was appreciated, but we found the resort lacking. The first night, we were woken by an intermittent mechanical humming noise. When we reported this to the front desk, it was agreed they would check it wasn't coming from the room next door. After half an hour we didn't get a call back and we could still hear the noise. We had to call the front desk back in order to be told there was no noise coming from the next door room. But, as we could still hear the noise, we asked for someone to come to our room to listen. The front desk person duly came to our room, and concluded the noise was coming from a generator from downstairs. But rather than automatically offering to find an alternative room, we had to ask to be moved. Which, we did and to the same level room we had booked. So this was the first issue we encountered. The second issue encountered was, that while the first and now our second rooms were listed as Junior Suites, the level of space and comfort, quality of decoration and finishing were not great and certainly not 5-Star!. The paintwork was marked and not clean, the furniture on the balcony of the second room were two very tired and worn upright deck chairs, with the varnish worn off the wood. The first room had two sun beds as wells as upright chairs, the second room did not. The light on one side of the bed had duct tape wrapped around the cord to fix this, and another feature light was without a bulb. Attention to details and quality is completely missing from the interior design and decor finishes. And thirdly, unfortunately, the pool area and the experience visiting it were awful. It does not look like any investment has been made to keep it pristine, the beds look old, the under cover terrace area needs an updated weather proof roof, there wasn't anywhere obvious to collect your towel (certainly not on entry and no one there to greet guests). Once we found the attendant, we did not receive a warm service, the towels were brought to our beds, without a smile and an abrupt request for our towel tokens. When we wanted to leave, again, we could not find the attendant to hand our towels back and ended up leaving these on a sunbed next to a table that had spare towel tokens left. This was not a 5-star experience to any level. We ended up changing our holiday to Capri, as we could not see how we would enjoy our 7-nights here. We were asked why we were leaving early, and we politely raised our points, and while it does say in the hotels T&Cs full payment will still be required, there was no offer made or any kind to compensate for our first night experience or to make up for the fact it meant us being so unhappy we changed our holiday plans and left after 2 nights. I hope things can improve to a higher standard for future guests.

Fantastic location although some of the staff could do with training and realise that the guests come first. Breakfast table could have been re-filed quicker without having to ask for more fruit or cheese etc and getting a fresh orange juice from the juice bar seemed like we were asking for something that was not on the menu and an inconvenience to the staff. Rooms were cleaned perfectly every day and shampoo/conditioner replenished daily. Walk to the Spa area was around 10-15 mins and the electric buggy chauffeur need once smiled and once again felt like it was an inconvenience to ask for this service. Fantastic sunrise from our room.

A hotel where you can feel at home in a very good location, a relaxed atmosphere, that's how you could describe the stay overall, also worth mentioning the friendliness of the staff and very good service.
What we missed were seasonal fruits from the island for breakfast, such as strawberries or Italian apricots, cherries, not just standard pineapple, melon and not so tasty grapes. There was probably a change in management, the appetizer buffet in the evening described by guests was not available. The selection on the menu was rather mediocre, but everything was tastefully prepared and requests were taken into account.
A private path led to the attached Aphrodite Therme, very pleasant to walk, the view of the sea at first and the vegetation delighted the soul. Swimming in the garden there and the more than sufficient loungers were also very pleasant. Unfortunately, the cave sauna is not accessible, and work also prevented access to the lower floor. But some work needs to be done. The bar above the pool took care of a little hunger and a big thirst.

Myself and Husband have just come back from a weeks stay at this hotel. It’s been a fabulous week. The hotel is extremely clean with all the extras you except for 5 star. The terrace is beautiful to sit and have your pre dinner drinks and the dinner menu was really good and responsibly priced for the area. Breakfast was exceptional- egg chef, juice bar, cheese table and also all the cakes and croissants options you could think of. Lots of fresh fruit and bread and great coffee.
The staff are really pleasant and helpful, particularly Gennaro and Rossa to name a couple.
The pool and thermal pools are about a 7/8 minute walk away which has lots of steps but worth it. You get fresh towels daily and plenty of snack options for lunch
Sant Angello has 4 or 5 good restaurants options and a few shops to walk around. The most beautiful place well worth the stay

We were very happy to return to Miramare after 6 years. The location of this hotel is magical. Time seems to have stopped, it feels like a Fellini movie. Magic. The thermal pools are always so relaxing, coupled with a pool of sea water to cool off. Absolute relaxation! It can be reached on foot or by cart available immediately and on request at the reception. You can also swim directly in the sea below the hotel. The table is excellent, both for breakfast and dinner. Do not hesitate to book half board. Salvatore and his teammates, including Rami, are taking care of you. Very good wines from Ischia will be offered. The less positive points are the rooms: they all have a certain charm but it is not 5 stars (doors squeaking, water not always in the shower). It's more like level 4 or 4.5. Another point to improve: the reception is present, kind but lacks dynamism. We also warmly recommend both bartenders and the location of the bar, very good team.

Nice hotel , full of history ,,,,

We had booked a Suite Deluxe as described in the web page, with a separating door between living room and bedroom, a bath tube and 60m2. When we arrived to the hotel we found out that our room was occupied and had to wait two days to get it. Meanwhile we had to stay in a lower quality room. When we finally got the room we booked, the bathtub did not work, and could not use it. The hotel director was really unpleasant to us during the stay, and the hotel did not compensate us. Nor allowed us to write a complaint (did not have a complaint book). We sent and email and got no answer. It is a pity because the location and decoration is beautiful, cheating the guests is an awful practise.

Enjoyed out stay as part of a little mini moon after getting married in sorrento. We had a good time, little things that did grate on us though: some nights it seemed the restaurant in the hotel was shut and no one was eating in it, we couldn’t work out why?

Buggy down to the pools were very delayed.

We travelled home on a horrendous day with thunder storms and all the concierge did was arrange for an electric car to drop us at a taxi rank following this we waited in what felt like some strange under ground bunker for nearly 2 hours for a taxi. We then had to jump in a taxi and share it with 5 others, we were then subsequently ripped off with the taxi driver taking €40 out of our hands despite sharing a taxi with multiple people.

This ruined the experience for us. In Capri when you stay in a hotel of this calibre they collect you from the port and dropped off so your whole stay including travel is comfortable.

We felt like once the bill was paid they couldn’t care less
