We had an amazing vacation at the beautiful San Montano Resort! We loved everything. The pools are soothing, and the view is stunning. The food was delicious for breakfast and lunch; we didn't have dinner there. Transportation to the beach was quick and easy, and we enjoyed the beach very much. Our room was amazing with a private pool, but any room would be great; you will spend all your time at the pool/beach. The bed was comfortable, and the AC was excellent. Most of all the staff is outstanding, they go above and beyond to make you happy - from the ladies who cleaned our room to the front desk - everyone is wonderful.

This hotel is perched at top of a mountain with several mineral pools, thermal baths, it’s own lemon Grove and an excellent spa and gym. We were greeted at the port by a complementary shuttle up to the hotel which was most appreciated after a long ferry trip to Ischia.
Staff were attentive, extremely helpful and the free shuttle into town to and from the sister hotel was an added bonus. The shuttle could also be taken down to the beach which was also helpful given that the beach is fairly far away from the actual hotel complex and a long climb up if you choose to walk it.
Breakfast was excellent with varied options, catering to vegans if this option was required. We had lunch at the restaurant every day and food was good, and not unreasonably priced.
Rooms were spacious and luxuriously appointed, with daily robes provided…although the Bathrooms were a bit dated with a built-in and quite basic shower. We upgraded to a Seaview room which is highly recommended, each room containing a balcony where you could drink a glass of wine and enjoy a beautiful sunset. We would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to travellers looking for luxury service.

I took a chance and booked this hotel at short notice and I must say we were blown away with pretty much every aspect of the resort. We stayed 4 nights in a superior double room with sea view that was quite spectacular. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything, including robes that one could wish for - unusual for Italy!
The staff were incredibly helpful and super friendly, including all the pool guys who couldn't do enough to be of service. They also operate a frequent shuttle service down to the little town and one can call them and they will pick you up again.
The biggest thrill for me were the thermal pools, especially the main hottest one that was equipped with the best jets I have ever tried, so my spine and lower back felt totally different by the time we left and I am still experiencing the benefits and that is really saying something!
The food was good and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast which was varied and plentiful so what more could you want.

What can I say about this little slice of heaven called San Montano? It is absolutely perfect in every conceivable way. They provide a free shuttle to pick you up from the ferry and to the ferry as we left for our next destination. The breakfast was among the best I have ever eaten. Please make sure to order scrambled eggs with cheese! I still daydream about them! The pools (I say that because there must be at least 30 different pools of different sizes and shapes, overlook the incredibly beautiful island of Ischia and range from hot, to warm, to cold. The views from outside the property are stunning. There is a pianist who plays and sings in the evening. The free shuttle also applies to the beach as they provide you with towels and the shuttle takes you to and from, a quick 5 minute drive away. The staff was absolutely incredible, including Marco, Anna, and Vincenzo. They were attentive from start to finish and are a big reason why this hotel is one of the best, if not the best I ever had the pleasure to stay in. I hope to return many many many more times!

This is an amazing hotel , we adored the place ! As mentioned by other reviewers , it is a little piece of paradise from the moment you walk through the doors . The staff are fantastic and really go out of their way to help with anything you need . The suites are beautiful , the Veranda restaurant was really fabulous . A very special mention for Marco - he is a really wonderful host and so much so that we ended up staying here for five nights instead of two that we planned . The location has stunning views , the pools and sun loungers are delightful and the breeze on the mountain top made it a perfect respite from the heatwave . You couldn’t pick a better place to stay ! This is a top class hotel with a great atmosphere , great rooms and brilliant staff . We will be back for sure and we certainly didn’t want to leave ! Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so special and well done 👏

Returning after 9 yrs and seeing the magic has not left . The resort ,most known for its bevy of pools , keeps it up . The main pool is heated to a comfortable temperature with flowing showers on each side of a bubbling bench . It is relaxing as you feel the thermal waters . Cold plunge pool along with warmer jet infused plunge pools with brilliant views . You can take the shuttle to the beach and sit on your reserved chair and umbrella . The sea was wonderful and calm . The bi-level villas are amazing with your own plunge pool and stunning views . You can not go wrong here with cocktails watching a stunning sunset or a delicious pizza for lunch . The grounds have plenty of area to explore including lemon groves . In 9 yrs away the property has grown tremendously but the friendly staff and beauty remain

Recently spent a week at the San Montano resort for a family reunion and it far exceeded our already lofty expectations. Most of it was due to an incredible staff that literally made us feel like family. They went out of their way to make sure anything that we did outside of the hotel was taken care of perfectly. Inside of the hotel there was nothing better than the staff at the restaurant and the late afternoons/evenings at the pools after a busy day. I'm not sure I can give proper credit to how warm and welcoming the staff made our family feel each and every day...way beyond the call of duty in my opinion. Sunsets and cocktails out on the patios were as good as i've seen anywhere and the incredible breakfast spread provided the perfect start to every day. If I were to give my one complaint...for a 5-start resort the rooms are a little bit tired and could definitely use an upgrade, especially the showers. The level of service made the small shortcomings an easy thing to overlook.

Stunning resort and spa from the accommodations and the food to the staff and the ocean views, San Montano Resort and Spa was worth every penny. Our experience at San Montano was above excellent. We splurged on an infinity pool suite for a family of 4 - including 2 boys 20 & 22 years old. The suite provided plenty of space and privacy. The staff was amazing - they remembered us each morning and evening at meal times, and recognized we were with a larger party of 7. Rafaela, Luigi, Vincennes are among the many who helped make our stay so memorable. I highly recommend staying on Ischia and particularly at the San Montana Resort. The spa services were extraordinary as was our 3 night stay.

My husband & I have been coming to this hotel on a beautiful island of Ischia for a few years. It is a” hidden treasure “ of sorts due to the fact that mostly Italians know & visit. And for good reason. It is a great island & San Montano is a beautiful hotel & Spa. Rates are reasonable, especially compared to it’s touristy neighbor Capri. This hotel is not directly on the beach but has easy accessibility to a fully appointed beach with many dining options . San Montano’s pools are thermal & the pool area is fantastic. If you’re looking for a place that has EVERYTHING, this is the island for you.

Morning.
I've just returned from San Montano ( staying half board) and I would recommend halfboard. The breakfast has loads of nice cakes/ pastries and the dinner is good quality, 4 course.
The half board rate only applies to one of the restaurants there.
If you don't choose half board then dinner is 50 euros per person. I'm not sure on reservations but it was never full when we went to dinner.
There is another restaurant called Franco's there but that costs about 100 euros per person (if I remember correctly)

Good morning. You must arrive at Naples Port with a taxi ( the fare will cost 20€) and from there catch an hydrofoil to ischia.
