Let’s start with the fact that this hotel is located on what was once a volcano, so the thermal spas are visited by those who come from around the world.

Receiving Staff – The staff was beyond amazing. Upon my arrival, everyone was so kind and friendly. I was met at the gate where my taxi was able to come through and they had a golf cart to take my luggage. The check-in process was nice and easy, which is especially nice as it was a little taxing getting there due to the change in the ferry because of the weather.

Room Configuration – My room was so calming. Situated in the watchtower was excited after hearing the story that goes along with this property. I love how the living, sleeping and powder room had their own space. I felt as though I was in my own apartment. The windows were nice and large looking out to the sea and the pool area. I had lots of natural light in each area forementioned. The pristine white décor and the bright beautiful tile work in the powder room were so regal.
Turndown Service- There was nice water on the side no slippers on the floor.

Breakfast – Was amazing. Everything I wanted was available. The presentation starting with the plateware to the cutlery was very well thought out. I love it when a hotel steps away from the basic “white” plateware. Here you felt as if they brought out the fine China. The staff was so attentive.

Hotel Location – On an island. Imagine that. I was somewhat intimidated by the location as I would be traveling from Rome and the logistics seemed overwhelming. However, after speaking with the hotel’s concierge and they provided a great detailed explanation of how to get to their property which gave me more ease. I worked with my transportation travel partner who arranged my pickup /drop off at the ferry ports. This hotel is at the end literally on one side of the island, but the location is beyond. I cannot wait to share this treasure with my clients.

My return is inevitable.

My husband and I stayed at Mezzatorre for 2 nights during our Amalfi Coast trip. The hotel and view are beautiful. We especially enjoyed sitting at the beach, and using the thermal pools in their spa. The rooms are small but beautiful with many nice touches. There was a great selection at breakfast with a large buffet as well as a menu to order from. The service was very good and everyone was very friendly.

This hotel is more of a resort that is isolated on the west side of the island. If you are doing a lot of touring of the island, it becomes difficult to leave the hotel. Cabs are very expensive and it's a bit of a walk to get out to the bus stop. Even to go to dinner in one of the nearby towns, cabs got very pricey. This is a good place to stay if you stay for several days and want to spend some time lounging by the beach or pool.

We did have an issue the morning we left though. We had an early ferry to Sorrento with a stop in Capri and the seas looked rough that morning. When we checked out, we asked the gentleman at the front desk if the ferries were running since they do tend to be cancelled. He was very confident that the seas were not rough and that the ferries were running. We then took a cab to the ferry dock to find out that our ferry was in fact cancelled. All ferries for the day were cancelled to Capri and our only option was to take a ferry to Naples and then take a train or another ferry to Sorrento (if running). After scrambling last minute, we were able to get to Sorrento, however, we feel that the hotel should have called the ferry to make sure the ferries were running before we left the hotel. Other hotels we stayed at during our trip had this service. We sent an email to the hotel after suggesting that this would have been helpful and they replied that they did call and ferries were running. This doesn't make sense though because nothing was mentioned to us when we expressed our concern to the front desk and were just told that the seas were not that rough, with no mention of them calling to confirm. Also, the woman at the counter at the ferry dock said the ferries were cancelled earlier that morning.

Overall, this is a beautiful hotel and we enjoyed our stay.

Just wow. The hotel is so well run. From the moment we checked in Salvatore and Alicia confirmed all of our activities, including ones I had separately booked, and even lined up our taxis needed during the stay. Salvatore, F and B manager, is warm, welcoming and totally onsite to make sure all of your dining experiences are perfect. The staff at the pool are terrific. Lia at the spa gave my husband a great massage. The thermal spa area is beautiful and so relaxing and very unique. The resort is built on a hill so rooms are on different levels and at the end of the night the front desk always had someone on hand to give you a lift back to your room. We really enjoyed our Mt Epomeo hike with Emanuele, with their recommended travel company, Fouraday, as well as the amazing lunch provided at a mountain home. Hotel is located in walking distance to Mortella Gardens - a very special place to visit.

Our room and outdoor patio were beautiful, and spacious with a view of the sea. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area.

Large room with extremely comfortable beds and soft sheets. Large walk in shower with great water pressure. Bath towels were very soft and large with a towel warmer.
In room espresso machine and beach towels for the balcony lounge chairs. Two closets and a little bistro table inside and a bistro table on the balcony to enjoy your morning coffee or sunset cocktails.
The staff were all so very thoughtful and kind. They moved patio furniture to accommodate our group for everyone to enjoy conversation and cocktails before and after dinner.
We always were able to have a lounge chair at the pool or beach. The staff was very responsive to our requests and food/beverage orders.

Everything about our experience/stay at this hotel was amazing! The service and all interactions with staff members was friendly, helpful & down to earth for a high class hotel/resort. This hotel delivers luxury accommodation and amenities without any pretentiousness. The incredible breakfast included in the room price makes the price per night very good value too! The outdoor pool is heated, so we could enjoy it in raining weather & also indoor thermal pools (which are free to use despite what I have read elsewhere) are awesome. They also have two paddle boards which are free to use (in safe to use weather) and the lifeguards are really helpful to help you hop on! One tip, the hotel has great rates with local taxis, so if coming from the port, email the hotel in advance to arrange pick up & transfer to the hotel for €30. We just took a taxi from the port without arranging via the hotel & it cost €50.

My wife and I traveled for 10 days through Italy and on about day 5 I said let's go to 5* resort and chill for a few days. I picked Mezzatorre because we we landed in Naples from Rome and it was a short 1 hour ferry to Ischia Island and it had a spa and a pool and good reviews but really had no idea what to expect. I had no idea what to expect but when we got there I was blown away by the beauty and the staff. The site is breathtaking and the service is the best I've ever had. We have traveled a lot in the Caribbean and around the United States but this was a whole nother level. They treated us like royalty and the pool, the Thermal Spa was exactly what we needed. I love the bar- Restaurant by the pool and the service was impeccable and the pool was gorgeous. We even jumped in the Chrystal clear Ocean right next to pool and swam around in late October and the water felt fantastic. We had multiple Spas, a relaxing 70 minute massage on 1 day and my wife had the Mud Wrap on another and we went to the Thermal Spa both days. The Thermal Spa is natural and incredible. The rooms were perfect as we had breakfast in our patio 1 morning. The food was really good at the main restaurant and the close by bar was perfect for cocktails before dinner and a Chocolate Martini after w a beautiful view and the weather is perfect in Late October as a I hate hot weather being from South Carolina. Again the service and the people make this place the best place we have ever been too. A true 5 star Experience and exactly what we were looking for to chill for a few days. Great Job to all the staff

Other than the remote location this place is nothing special. The superior sea view cottage room is not a cottage at all. It is a one story old building with several attached small rooms. The amenities in the room other than an average bed is a refrigerator with 3 water bottles and a couple of bottles of soda. NO coffee in the room. They informed use that water and soda is available free of charge, but there is a service fee for them to bring it to the room. For over a $1,000 per night you would think it would be a service provided. So in order to have a cup of coffee you have to walk down a step hill wait for someone to help and then walk back up a step hill. What a way to start the day!
They do provide turn down service, but then again, it’s only if you ask for it.
The food is good, but then again, it should be for the price.
I could go on, but I think that’s enough for now. I would definitely check into other accommodations available before you make a reservation

Dear Joe G, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay at Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa.  I am sorry that your experience did not fully meet your expectations and would like to express my sincerest apologies. However, please allow me to clarify a few points. Our minibar is filled up everyday with 5 different types of chargeable alcoholic beverages and several complimentary items (4 sodas, 4 bottles of water, 2 juices). Moreover we do offer 4 types of complimentary snacks as well. The coffee machine is actually available upon request for the lower room categories while a Gaggia Brera machine is part of the standard amenities for all the suites. Your room was a superior, not a deluxe suite. It was in one of the clusters in the park, but if you didn't feel comfortable there we could have tried to find an alternative solution. The turndown service is indeed upon request in order to give an option to our guests to be more sustainbale. You just need to hang the "make up room" sign at the door or inform the front desk. We like to put our guests in a position where they can actually decide if that service is really needed or not. We are disappointed to find out via TripAdvisor the poor experience you had with us. While you were here you did not mention any of that. Not even upon check out. We could have assisted you in making your stay more enjoyable if we only knew. At Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa, one of The Leading Hotels of the World, we continuously strive to meet your needs and expectations; therefore your feedback is very important to us.  Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to prevent any future occurrences. We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future. Kindest regards, Daniele Tasca General Manager

I’m currently at this hotel with my mom finally celebrating her 70th birthday that she wasn’t able to due to Covid. This hotel is an oasis! We are leaving Monday for Capri and it’s already setting in that we will leave this beautiful place. Fillippo has literally driven my mom around in the golf cart everywhere since she has bad knees and has carried her bags and taken her arm to escort her to the room. If you want to play tennis he’ll bring cold water and towels to the court in advance without asking him to do this. Massimo at the bar will talk with you to find you the best cocktail. The beautiful woman at the concierge will be on it all day for great suggestions. The men at the pool have escorted my mom down steps, they have brought fresh refreshments and moved our umbrellas. The guy at the thermal spa gave me a fresh robe and slippers. I could go on and on. I’m already thinking of another trip here! This is a strikingly beautiful place! Thank you Mezzatore staff!!

You have one chance to make a first impression. I missed the last ferry to the hotel so we hired a private boat delivery. We arrived at midnight and there was a staff member waiting for us at the dock. He carried our heavy bags up many stairs and delivered us via golf card to our room, adjusted air to our liking and gave us WiFi information and was willing to answer all questions at almost 1 in the morning. The location is stunning, the grounds are beautiful and well kept. The staff is kind professional and knowledgeable and every staff member I met was from the Island. The food and wine were terrific. The thermal water spa is like nothing I have experienced. It will be easy to recommend Mezzatorre and I will be back. Thank you for such a great experience. Denise

Finalmente- oh joy - a coffee machine in the room. I know coffee machines are a step down for the coffee aficionados of Italy but what a relief to have that first coffee of the day in bed. We were kindly given a room upgrade and had a lovely view of the sea.

The weather was atrocious (as it had been on all of our holiday) but that didn’t detract from the warmth of the staff. Included in the price of the stay is time in the thermal spa which was fortuitous given the weather outside. The hot jets were great for my neck pain.

Le Baia and Le Torre restaurants served up their daily delights of fresh fish (appreciated by my husband) and delicious pasta with Ischia’s sweet tomatoes and Burrata cheese (appreciated by me). Accompanied by Ischia’s Biancolella wine we couldn’t have wanted for more.

Well done the bar team for quickly opening up indoor spaces as the rain came down.

And then there are the staff. You make the Mezzatorre. So thank you Salvatore, Antonio (x2), Valerio, Nello, Lucca, Marco, Piedro, Giovanni, Raffaele, Olina, Alessandro, Martina, Matteo, Renato, Davide, Massimo, Giuseppe, Francesco and those whose names I never managed to learn. Come back soon Manuela.

After the rain a beautiful rainbow and a perfect still moonlit night on our last night.
Grazie tutti. See you next year.
