We booked in to this hotel via a package holiday - it is probably best to book direct as better room selection available etc.
We have just had a week in this hotel skiing as a family and we received fantastic service. Jessica and polly both went the extra mile to make sure our youngest daughter was happy at meal times - making sure she got food she liked. A massive thank you to them both for their fantastic efforts.
Hotel very comfortable, food good and no queueing for meals as others have suggested. Friendly bar staff and a hot tub for fun after a day on the slopes. It was all covered. Thanks for a lovely stay.
My only negative comment would be it would be nice to have your towels changed during a weeks stay.

Dear Roam, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel in Meribel-Mottaret. We really appreciate your mention of Jessica and Polly who went above and beyond to make sure your daughter was catered for. They both work so hard and it is lovely this is noticed. Thank you for your other comments and we have noted the towel change which we will make sure happens next year. Kind regards, Ginny

Meribel Mottaret is well placed for the three valleys, and the Hotel Mottaret works on every level. Friendly staff made it feel that we were welcome, and well cared for. Greg was a legend late at night, Alice during the day, Marion added sparkle and the chic Katie managed everything with aplomb. Boot room is good, ski locker spacious and the hotel is close to a green run into the centre of Mottaret.

Rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. Like most places in the Alps we had to sleep with the window open to let the fresh mountain air circulate freely. There is a jacuzzi for apres ski, and we chilled warmly round the fire pits on the terrace in the evening.

There’s a great bar with friendly and obliging staff, and we particularly enjoyed breakfast, with a great selection of patisserie, fresh fruit and full cooked breakfast.

Thank you to everyone at Hotel Mottaret for giving us an excellent trip, next time we will go Demi pension and enjoy more from the restaurant.

For our family Christmas Holiday this year we decided to go back to the 3 valleys and this hotel in Meribel.
We had originally booked this hotel Mottaret in particular because of the good reviews and for a second time were not disappointed. The atmosphere in the hotel is welcoming, comfortable, friendly, warm.
From when we arrived with our 2 small children we were sat down with a hot wine and hot chocolates whilst our luggage taken to the room for us and then accompanied up when ready and my husband parked the car.
The room was clean and a good size for our family. Our cleaning lady was very friendly.
The food was excellent every morning and night. Our Christmas day meal was just what we needed after a long day on the slopes even if the service was a bit haphazard in the evenings.
Our children were thrilled by their presents given by santa on Christmas day, a really lovely touch from the hotel and it's management.
Overall then I would definitely come back and stay at Hotel le Mottaret, thank you to the manager Katy and her great team for making our stay as magical as it could be.

We stayed at Hotel Mottaret in Feb 2019. The visit was great – Outstanding location (first of all) - Good choice of breakfast, there was actually a guy who cooked eggs, waffles, and crepes to order – which the kids fully utilised and thoroughly enjoyed The self-service buffet was good, coffee machine worked no problem – so we had little to complain about.

The things that made us want to return were sadly missing on our return visit this February (2020). The kids loved that fact that they could pick up a muffin/brownie from the landings/lobby in our previous visit, this was such a good feature and an easy way to keep the kids happy ergo us happy - but was sadly lacking for teh majority of our visit. Also, the breakfast quality had slipped e.g. the coffee machine was not working most mornings, percolated coffee tepid, empty trays where there should have been bacon, sausages, etc. But worst of all no waffle/egg guy!! These were the main reasons why we wanted to come back! Obviously, these points are not horrendous, and some will find tedious but like I say these are the reasons we decided to go back.
On the plus side the bar staff were excellent, very friendly and professional, as were the reception staff, overall we enjoyed our time there but will probably look for somewhere else next year. But I would definitely say they need to pay more attention to detail with the small perks as mentioned above to temp families back.

Dear Mike, Thank you for taking the time to review the Hotel Le Mottaret. I am glad that your visit in February 2019 went well but we are very sad that your second visit was not so good. Candidly, we had a lot of staff illness in the week you stayed with us and that did impact the service. Waffles and eggs are always cooked at breakfast and this should have been the case regardless of the above. Likewise, if there was a shortage of muffins, brownies etc that was very much the exception and not the norm. We really hope you give us another try; please get in touch with Zac at Ski France, who you booked your holiday with, and we will make sure to be very competitive on the price in recognition of your slight disappointment this year. Kind regards, Vienna

We stayed over Christmas & extended our stay a few times (to get to France ahead of restrictions and once there, to make the most of being there), with all requests happily accommodated by the team, against a backdrop of dealing with a huge amount of cancellations & changes due to government/travel regulations.

Location is perfect, from the front of the hotel you have a 1 minute easy run straight down to centre of Mottaret/tourist office/lift pass office/ski school meeting points. This slope also has a gentle sledging area, or you could choose to do the night time sledging on Tuesday evening if feeling more adventurous. It's also the run where the kids torchlit run descends on Wednesdays. It was pretty easy to walk back up to the hotel, either by steps or by slope but you could take the Chalets lift if preferred. Being a little higher in Mottaret (having stayed many times in Meribel), also meant much quicker access to the 3 valleys with little to no queues.

The hotel is warm and welcoming, with good sized rooms, comfortable beds, powerful hot showers and fabulous views, all well taken care of with great housekeeping staff. We enjoyed the newly built spa and the hot tub out front, sitting by the fire enjoying Hugo's cocktails, and the restaurant (the all inclusive package is definitely excellent value for money).

The food is outstanding, we especially appreciated the great lengths gone to for both the French Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and the British Christmas dinner (including crackers) on Christmas Day. Santa made a special visit with gifts for all children, not just any gift...each child had been very carefully considered. The chefs sought feedback and were eager to please, which they did every day.

Best of all are all of the staff, without exception, nothing is too much trouble and they are incredibly welcoming, hard working and professional (even in supporting myself with a medical emergency). I generally have a rule of not returning with a view to always trying somewhere new but, for this place, I would make an exception, this hotel is difficult to beat.

Thank you Katie and the whole team for everything.

I've been several times to this hotel. Ski convenience is the best you can find in my opinion. The hotel is located within 20 metres of the slopes and easy to access including the telecabine which runs in the day to save walking up from Morttaret.

It was nice to see some familiar faces in the hotel and the staff work hard to please guests and always with a smile. The manageress and reception staff are very visible and deal with issues efficiently and in a reasonable manner despite some very rude guests witnessed during our stay.

Our room was well appointed and warm. It's worth paying a little extra for the recently added rooms but with past experience all rooms are fine.

Food in the restaurant is of a good standard though be aware that breakfast can be a bit frantic. We stayed at a time when there was a large group of families all together who grabbed everything they could, left the place in a state and were actually quite rude to some of the staff. Nothing the hotel can do about the class of guest and its the first time I've encountered this here. Usually the guests are very classy.

The hotel is in a fantastic location really close to a green run and the Mottaret central area. The hotel itself is very clean with a nice ambience. The food is excellent, loads of choices at breakfast (the only thing I could think of which they don't have is porridge), lunch the burgers were very good and dinner always had plenty of choice, I especially liked the soups, cheeses and desserts. The staff were very helpful - Katie, Alice, Florien and Alistair at the bar were all brilliant and made us feel very welcome. The all inclusive option offered fantastic lunch vouchers all around the 3 valleys. Our room was a standard room, which was a good size and unlike many ski hotels had plenty of space for storage and hanging clothes. We're already booked for next year!

I had a fantastic weeks stay at Hotel Mottaret. The lounge bar area had a lovely atmosphere late afternoon/early evening, with free hot drinks and pastries available after a day on the slopes, and often a live singer.

The unlimited use of the spa was a lovely addition. It was quite busy once everyone had returned from skiing, but quietened into early evening. You can book a private slot for the outdoor hot tub after 6pm, and this worked fine. This can just be arranged whilst there.

I had a room in the older part of the hotel, overlooking the road. Whilst it was a bit tired, the shower and storage space was excellent.

Location was perfect. It was just over a single road to join a green run which took you to all of the lifts in Mottaret. From here you can easily access Meribel (via another easy green), Courchevel etc.
A short walk from the hotel there is the free bus which runs fairly frequently to Meribel, which I used on a couple of evenings.
It is also only a 5 min walk to get to a number of restaurants in Mottaret. All of the ones I went to were good. Because of the hotels location being uphill, and almost ski in/ski out, good footwear is needed, even in the evening.

I booked my ski hire and pass through the hotel. Both the pass and voucher for hire were available at check in. The ski hire shop is right next door which is a big bonus. They were very efficient and were willing to swap a pair of boots the following day.

The breakfast choice was good with cold and hot food. There is the option when only on bed and breakfast to pay extra for the evening buffet. I did this one evening, and it was reasonable. Everything I had was nice, but I have had hotel buffets with more choice.
Cocktails were great!

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend for exploring the 3 Valleys.

Just an all round great holiday experience from the moment we arrived. The ambience is warm and cosy, the rooms are super clean and quiet with extremely comfortable beds. Location is second to none - ski rental in same building, green slope to main ski area just 10m from front door. The staff were all outstanding and could not have been more friendly, helpful or professional. The manager Katie was always on hand to make sure customers needs were anticipated and met. My 7 year old boy said it was the best ski holiday he had ever been on and particularly enjoyed the fondue night. Some of the best seafood we have had in a ski hotel and always super fresh. Breakfast had everything you could need with the exception of porridge and non dairy option like soya milk would be a great addition. Another great asset is the outdoor hot tub which we used a few times and you can even book your own private time slot after 6pm. We enjoyed a soak during a blizzard on one evening which was an experience!!! All in all very hard to find any faults, we will definitely return !

Fantastic stay in Le Mottaret. We found the staff to be both helpful and polite. Nothing appeared too much trouble. It had the added benefit of a ski shop on the premises, with discount for guests.
Our room was large with plenty of storage for all our ski clobber and also had a good sized balcony. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a large walk in shower.
Meals were taken In the restaurant downstairs. Breakfast included all the normal fair and apart from issues with the coffee machine, ticked all the boxes. The evening meal was buffet style, with a multitude of options for all tastes, including vegetarian and all well prepared and served. As a consequence, we have come home considerably heavier.
The slopes are a stone’s throw away, with easy access to the nursery slopes.
We would happily return to Le Mottaret and would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
