The swimmingpool with slides is nice, especially for kids. The toilets and showers are okay, mostly clean but could be better. One part of the camping with mostly caravans is straight forward, the mobile homes are nice. There is enough entertainment or possibility to play petanque or football.
We had an excellent stay at one of the safari lodges. It was very clean, cousy and we had everything we wanted for a perfect stay. Staff is very friendly. The camping is located very well, it has a nice atmosphere and we felt safe at the location. We brought our bikes and were very happy with the bycicly pads close to the camping that brought us to the beaches, village.... We wished we could have stayed longer. We might be back and we will definitely recommend to friends and family!
We stayed for 10 days. The site is nice, with pitches between the trees. There were very few English people there, which suited us perfectly. The pitch was a nice size. It was clean and well kept. We had a campervan on a basic pitch with electric. There was a tap at the end of our pitch and a BBQ point close by. The pool was lovely and quite busy, but the slides kept us entertained. Plenty of sunbeds to keep you lounging in the sun. The option of an indoor pool and the late night swim on Wednesdays is good fun. They let me in with shorts and didn’t enforce the budgie smuggler rule which was a huge relief. The toilets were a bit of a trek from our pitch which we found an issues with a 3 year old who gives little warning of impending doom! They did supply loo roll and hand wash though and were spotless despite the number of people using them. One of the issues for us was that the nearest shop was a 30 min walk away, which for us was an issue with two small children and not wanting to drive or break the campervan down to move it. The beach was also a drive away. There is a free shuttle in the summer which was good, but the timings were a little off for us. It ran every two hours and made timings a little more tricky. The staff were helpful and I liked this site layout. There was a bar/pizzeria which we used a couple of times. There was an incident and they shut it. Some abuse of some sort, but the staff were a little rude in the bar. I just wish it had more around it and was easier to access the facilities with more frequent buses. It has a small shop and I mean small and it is extortionate. The bread is OK, but other items are very expensive. 3-4 times more than a supermarket. The cycle track was a great thing with access to the area. We didn't use it to cycle but it got us to the supermarket with little road use. Older kids on bikes could get a long way and really explore the area. Soustons was very disappointing as a town. Sleepyville. We walked in and it was dead, so we had lunch and turned round and came back and went swimming. Having said that the market was fun and varied, but again very expensive. Overall the site had a nice feel with pleasant reception staff, despite making you wear a wrist band, which we removed and it wasn’t noticed. There was a security guard who did patrol and make sure everybody was behaving. The site had mainly families and was very quiet. Be warned though the site next door was very loud in the day with loud tannoy announcement. I would go back, but not for so long next time.…
Great location: in the middle of a pinery, which through a cycling path takes right to a wonderful beach (8 kilometres away). It's also walking distance from the small village of Souston. It's cleaned and in the shadow. Shame it has more to do with a cheap resort than of a true campsite: big, with families who come with their campervans for the summer season; a big swimming pool and other sport facilities accessible to outsiders too; a restaurant; a bar and every night entertainment till midnight.. Not suitable if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday.
We have just stayed for a week in a Super Confort chalet amongst the sand and pine trees. The pools are fab and the pizzas in the restaurant are the best. I wasn't so happy with the accommodation - no wine glasses and only steak knives in the kitchen. Only a wooden picnic table outside on the verandah so nowhere comfy to lounge about, which was a shame as we were south facing. We don't all want to sit round the pool!
