We have stayed here many times before when seeing Shenandoah National Park. But during the covid era, there is no better place I have ever seen. There is no need to enter the office to check in. You simply slip your cards through a slot in the door from outside and have no direct contact with the clerk. The room, which is immaculately clean as always and is well decorated and has great amenities, was well ventilated upon our arrival, with windows on both sides left open. We wiped down all surfaces as a precaution, which we do in all places where we stay now, though we don’t know if this was necessary. Room entry is from parking lot, so no need to walk through a hallway or ride an elevator. And the toilet seat has a lid, which is important to put down when you flush. I could not feel safer anywhere else. Twi-Lite’s set-up should be a model for all motels to follow during the pandemic.

Had a great stay at the Twi-lite Motel over Memorial Day weekend. The rooms look to have been recently updated are impeccably clean with two comfy beds and loads of pillows. There’s a fridge, microwave and flat screen tv. The AC unit is fairly quiet and efficient. The bathrooms are a little dated but they’re very clean with plenty of towels and basic toiletries. The owner is a great guy, very friendly and can’t do enough for you. We extended our stay by one night as we were so impressed. The motel is located right next to a fairly busy main road but we didn’t hear anything inside the room. The pool is fully functioning and clean. For $77 a night, we thought it was excellent value.

Motel is a great location for exploring the Shanandoah valley. There are several restaurants within walking distance (there are even sidewalks) and even more a short drive away. Would highly recommend.

The motel is right in town and it’s not a chain. It’s a mom and pop operation that provides a clean, comfortable stay. All you could need accommodation for visiting the area or for one night

In room 26 we had a comfortable king bed with a refrigerator microwave and a TV that was almost the size of our bed. Lots of channels and great reception. The bathroom was beautiful retro tile in pink and mint green but it was spotless as were the sheets and the entire room. It was toasty warm on a chilly night. The water pressure in the shower is the best we’ve ever experienced. Parking was right outside your door. A great Pizza place close by as well as Seven 11. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We had a great night sleep and the price was amazing $78 perfect.

if you’ve read any of the other reviews, don’t pay attention to that snobby dust on the window sill comment That just doesn’t describe this place.♥️

This motel is vintage on a very busy street which was noisy until quite late. The bed linens were fresh, but the towels were pretty thin. Original pink tiles in the bath were accented by pale green towel bar standards and soap dishes. Someone had broken off the washcloth bar on the tub's soap dish. There had been some remodeling done in what had probably been a closet in order to fit in a small refrigerator and microwave. As there was a big festival in town, options were rather limited for our one-night stay.

I really don’t understand the plethora of positive reviews on here. To start with, we turn up at around 2pm to checkin to find the reception completely locked off. We then get gestured towards a flap in the window (which is around half the size of a letterbox) where we have to pass through our credit card etc in order to complete the checkin process. Upon entering the room it smelt like an old smoky car. Windows filthy. State of decoration and repair was bad. Granted the carpet was new, and two walls and the ceiling looked like they had been recently painted, however the rest of the room was in dire need of renovation. I have uploaded some photographs, which speak for themselves. To have the audacity to charge $86 per night for a place of this calibre is shocking.

We came expecting a clean retro 1940s well kept motel as other reviews noted. It was a significant letdown. It was worn, cramped and have an extremely pungent ethnic odor, both in the office and room. It was not clean or well kept 1940s. The room door have a 2'x 2.5' window in it with shower glass distortion contact paper on it. There was only a shear curtain over it blocking ZERO light. It was like having a light on ALL night in the room!

The room had an overpowering pungent odor of ethnic cooking and incents.

There were cob-webs over the bed in the corner, chipped and worn less than cheap builder grade vanity, less than novice hung toilet paper holder, scratch and worn sink, shower head was dirty and have 'green' buildup on it ... the list goes on.. also walls had sloppy, incomplete patchwork. Ugh.

The owner/manager apologized as we were leaving offering to do better the next time, but that's not likely to happen. Very disappointed.

We've stayed in many mom and pop 50's retro motels throughout the US. This is one of the nicest we have been in! Very clean and well kept with lovely decor and a Teddy Bear greeting us on the bed! Great shower with instant hot water, usually only found in large chain hotels. Fridge, microwave, coffee machine, large screen tv! What more could one ask for! Very nice Indian-American owners too!

We like to support the local economy where we can so stayed at this independent motel. It’s a budget place but the room had been recently painted and the furniture looked new. Room was a good size and there was WiFi, big tv and a fridge plus microwave. The bathroom needed updating but was clean. For the price paid we were satisfied.

Melting Pot Pizza up the road is a good dinner option but take cash as they don’t accept cards.

On our road trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive we had no specific accommodations booked. The reviews for Twi-Lite Motel is one of the reasons we stayed here and they said not disappoint! The room was clean and well decorated with all the convinces. The bed was comfy and unlike some of the Wyndham places we have stayed at this superseded them by Far. The cleanliness and comfy essentials were great! The location is 1.5 miles from Main Street. Definitely coming back!!

The room was so small and dark, I didn’t know how to open my suitcase. The pool which looked so inviting on the website was drained and empty. The motel is on the side of a 4 carriage highway. The person I assume was the owner greets guests by just asking for name and identification rather than bothering with any pleasantries.
