We've been traveling to Bristol for many years, as we have a daughter who lives there. And, it's always been a challenge to find a decent place to stay that is close, not smoky, and doesn't have an insane amount of road nose penetrating the room. So, I can't tell you how delighted I was to stumble upon the Sessions when we had to make an emergency visit in December. The staff was super helpful. Full Covid restrictions were in place, offering peace of mind that we certainly needed at the time. Our room was extremely comfortable and quiet. We were located in a room off the hallway that had a separate entry to the hall, shared with another room. This prevented hallway noise from disturbing us. Coffee was available near the check in desk. We did not take advantage of any meals in the hotel, so I cannot comment on that. We stayed for three nights. There was no room freshening (bed wasn't made, bathroom cleaned), but I presumed that was due to the Covid policy. This didn't bother me, but I do hope on future trips that this will be included. The room did come with a coffee machine, but you needed to ask for the coffee pods due to their Covid policy.…
My wife and overnight in Bristol several times a year on the way to visit grandkids. On our most recent trip, we decided to skip the I81 adjacent hotels and give Sessions a try. What a surprise! Sessions is a true hidden gem - we actually considered extending our stay another night. The staff was exceptional – it’s difficult to make someone feel welcome, appreciated and “at home” in only one night, but they did it. The facility is even more impressive– the attention to detail at every corner reflects the passion and true intention of the owners in the design and theme of the hotel. The use of old microphone casing for lighting fixture in our room was pure genius – I still smile when I think about it. If the comfort, quality, and design of the hotel are not enough – then head across the breezeway to the Southern Craft restaurant. Simply the best baby back ribs I’ve ever had (we’re from Texas and spent the prior night in Memphis, so we have experience ….), and my wife declared the same for the chicken wings. The attention to detail and theme carried over to Southern Craft. We also had a chance to meet and talk to a long-term guest while we were out on the outdoor rooftop bar (which was a surprise as it was about 27 degrees out and the bar was understandable closed for the season …!) He’d been there for several weeks and told us just how much he enjoyed Sessions too. I’ve spent over 2,000 nights in hotels around the world over the course of my business and pleasure travel career. Sessions is easily in the top 5 places I’ve ever had the pleasure to stay.…
The welcome could not have been more sincere - Katelynne was exceptionally friendly and provided great direction on where to dine, drink and wind down after a tough day. The rooms are well appointed and super unique. As a traveler who spends about 200 nights a year in a hotel, this was a refreshing experience.
The last time I went to Bristol, I stayed at The Bristol Hotel and we decided to change up this time. The Sessions was still being built when I was in town the first time, so I decided to give it a go this one. We were not disappointed! I did the romance package, just because. No special occasion, I just decided to surprise my boyfriend with a weekend fishing trip. The room came with a bottle of champagne, a gift card to one choice of two local restaurants, and rose petals. There was also a super cute little wooden “do not disturb” sign shaped like a record. (I like the little extra details— especially ones that could make cute Christmas ornaments.) The staff was beyond kind and the rooms were extremely clean. They DEFINITELY did a great job with following CDC guidelines. Pros: •On-site parking •Pet friendly, but doesn’t smell like dog •Easily accesible •Right in town- walking distance from everything (especially Blackbird Bakery) •Rooftop restaurant •Super cool spots for pictures! Cons: If I had to find a con, the floors in the bathroom a little slick when it gets wet, but they provide mats to prevent. So I dare you to find one. …
We only stayed for one evening heading to another destination. Rooms are large and very stylish. Nice bathroom and they have a restaurant on site. The food at the restaurant was OK but most things are fried - gets lots of good reviews but we didn’t like it very much.
