This hotel was so dumpy and absolutely not worth the price. I had to pay for a suite to get a room here as they were supposedly booked up during my stay yet the hotel seemed fairly empty the whole time I was there. The staff are a disaster and it’s super run down. I’ll start from the beginning it’s a Friday afternoon after driving for some time we arrive to check in to our room, the man at the front desk was pretty pleasant and gave us our room key with confusing directions on how to get to the room. Okay we finally arrive at the room (which is quite the hike and 2 flight of stairs or a creepy elevator ride away from reception) to find out that our room key doesn’t work. We saw someone who was housekeeping and asked her to let us in the room and she somehow got in contact with someone else who came and let my boyfriend in with our luggage so I could run back to reception and get new keys. When I went to the front desk and said my key didn’t work, the same gentleman apologized and went in the back to make new keys, I took those and hiked back to the room. To no one’s surprise the keys still didn’t work! I called down to guest services and got no answer so I then marched back down and now a woman was at the front desk (Lori) she was super rude and ignored my presence for at least a minute and half as I’m standing there waiting for her to acknowledge me I finally said excuse me to which she replied “what’s the name on the reservation” I said I’m already checked in and have been for about an hour now yet I have not been able to get into my room these keys don’t work and this is the third time I’ve been down here. She looked at me perplexed, without a single apology and turned and said the machine said they should work just fine. ???? Well they don’t work I can assure you I said. So she then proceeded to make another new key and i said to her I don’t want to come back down here again which she ignored as if I was making up not being able to get into my room. She should have at that moment gotten someone to come up with me so that If the third set of keys didn’t work I wasn’t stuck running down again. Well again those keys didn’t work and I called the front desk on my cellphone as we were now locked out of the room again, the more pleasant male answered the phone and sent someone our way. This time Leeroy arrived and tried our keys and confirmed they indeed didn’t work. He ran down to reception himself this time and got new keys made saying maybe our cellphones keep deactivating the keys. Well his keys didn’t work either so he called down reception to which the response was well we’ll have someone come take apart the lock and see if that’s the problem. Mind you we’ve now been trying to get into our room for 2 hours and haven’t unpacked showered or gotten to even see the room. I said I’m not comfortable leaving the room and having someone come take apart the lock we didn’t pay to stay here to babysit someone and not be able to use our room. Leeroy agreed and called back down saying we should be moved to another open suite of the same kind which was very helpful finally. He then went down and got us keys for the new room but it hadn’t been cleaned by housekeeping yet so we were stuck in the old room no way to get in if we left, with all our luggage waiting on housekeeping to clean the new room. About another 20 minutes or so go by and the housekeeper had finally finished and we were able to get into our room. We arrived at the resort around 2:15pm it was now close to 5 and it was getting dark out, our entire day gone. When we finally arrived to our 2nd room the sink had a nasty stain in it and the cabinet with the fridge in it didn’t even stay shut no matter what it just hung open. Leeroy was the only helpful party and apologized for the inconvenience but not a single other soul was even a little sorry, they offered us nothing for our inconvenience and literally wasted our entire afternoon. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I will never return here and I hope that the front desk learns how to deal with paying customers. Front desk staff were welcoming and helpful in terms of restaurant and activity suggestions. Our king room with a fireplace was very large and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel could use some updating but I felt their rate reflected their knowledge of that. We had a nice stay and no complaints.
Very disappointed as we have been here before. Facilities and grounds have been neglected for years. Carpets are tripping hazards and gym equipment is rusty and dirty. Hall and lobby is stuffy and needs ventilation. Water and ice machine filthy. Not what we had seen or experienced in the past. Hopefully they will be able to get updated. Covid may have caused some issues but what we experienced are issues from long before covid. Staff was kind.
This hotel is tired and worn and dirty. It needs to be renovated. The parking lot is poor, the lobby is tired, the rooms are outdated. The buildings need repaired. The landscaping needs to be redone. The staff was not helpful. There is absolutely no reason to stay at this hotel.
Stayed two nights for a conference during the busy Fall season. Room was comfortable, quiet and clean. Conference rooms were clean and comfortable. Conference food was good and the catering staff was efficient and friendly. Coffee, tea, and water were kept fresh all the time.
