We were looking for a decent place to stay in northern Vermont at the peak of foliage season, and lodging prices were ridiculous everywhere. La Quinta Inn fell somewhat in the middle of the price range. It was still overpriced for your basic motel. Desk clerks were helpful and room was mostly okay, except for an incompletely cleaned bathroom, for which we were comped a little. Place is nearing a planned renovation, and it’s shabby in a few places. Still, it’s a decent place to stay while exploring the beautiful areas within 90 miles.
The stained sofa, the reversed dirty shower curtain, the carpet was also stained. The computer in the business area didn’t work and it appeared as there has not been land scape of the front hedges with vines/weeds growing. Front desk response is I don’t know, I don’t have an email for the manager, i don’t have a way of getting anyone in the sales office…etc. I am requesting a full refund for my stay.
We booked a king suite as we were originally traveling as a family of five. Upon arrival, I was told the room we booked wasn’t available and they only had a room with two doubles. I said okay because two of our family members didn’t end up coming. I still would’ve preferred our original room as I had already paid for it and it would’ve been a more ideal setup for my two children and me. It would’ve been a huge problem had we all come as originally planned. I didn’t realize that there was no maid service at all. I thought the fact that my room wasnt cleaned the first day was a fluke but on the second day I asked. I was told that they don’t clean rooms until you checkout. There was a sign explaining the policy but it wasn’t prominent at check in and I didn’t see it so I was expecting fresh towels etc. when I asked I stated I really needed fresh towels and they explained I could have some but I had to bring them my old ones. The women working here were very nice about it, but it is a bad policy. It was not their fault and they did what they could within the policy. I can understand not having maid service for someone staying for one or two nights but we were here three nights and the attached photos show the conditions after just two nights and we were barely in the room during our trip. When they didn’t have the room I paid for no mention was made of refunding the extra money I paid for the suite. I had to ask about it at check out. They gave a standard credit but said I’d have to check to see if Expedia would honor the credit even though I booked directly through their website……
Stayed in 3 hotels during our trip to Vermont. This La Quinta was the worst of the 3. There was no grout in the bathroom tiles and you could see all the dirt left in the empty grooves, there was also some kind of powder left in the bathtub. I asked for more towels for the 2nd day as they were not cleaning rooms between stays unless you asked. When we arrived back that night there were no new towels so I had to call for a 2nd time. The heat/air unit was so loud when it turned on and off it made it difficult to sleep. The free breakfast was terrible. I tasted the juice and it had gone sour, the apples and 1 banana had been sitting out for days and looked awful, no hot foods, just some pre packaged bagels and muffins and 3 cold cereals. Front desk people greeted us and were friendly which is athe only good thing I have to say about this property. For the price I would go elsewhere.…
I’m really upset with our stay. I called twice to be sure we had a handicapped room and asked once again at the front desk. The room we received was not accessible. It was filthy inside and out. I expect more than this. My husband has scratches down his legs from having to flip out of the tub and shimmy to his wheelchair. Your company should be ashamed
