Travelers appreciate the spacious and modern rooms at Abora Interclub Atlantic by Lopesan Hotels, though some have noted occasional cleanliness concerns and dated aspects. While the hotel's service earns praise for the staff's friendliness and cleanliness, guests have experienced slow responses at times. The amenities, including pools and entertainment, are a hit with families, yet a shortage of sunbeds has been mentioned. The hotel's overall atmosphere is vibrant, thanks to lively entertainment options. However, the remote location garners mixed feelings, with some guests enjoying the seclusion and others finding it inconvenient for exploring local attractions.

We were skeptical about this holiday after reading a lot of negative reviews. But I have to say they must have been at a different hotel as there was very little I could fault on our trip.

Accomodation- great rooms, we had a twin room perfect for a family of 4, it had a balcony shower and a really decent hairdryer so save some luggage space and don't pack your own. Our room seems to be in a perfect spot between the restaurant and pool which was a minute either way. Residency was quiet not complaints on noise. The rooms were cleaned every day and at a high standard.

Food- there is a goodhall with a wide variety of food options. There is a different theme to the main meals each night. There was a Mexican theme with options of nachos and tortillas for example along with Spanish theme of paella. But there are numerous staple dishes of pasta, potatoes and salads to mix it up every night. Huge variety of deserts and breakfast options were great too. There are busier times to avoid i.e. from around 7pm and 8am for breakfast but we easily avoided this. There is also a pool bar offering some snacks i.e. chips, pancakes in between so there is always something to eat. Our only criticism was we arrive at around 11pm the first night and we were pretty hungry but the reception leftover often were really poor so make sure you eat before at the airport is my suggestion.

Drinks are on tap all day every day with alcohol from 11am. It's only 2 drinks per person in the evenings but it means the queue stays small. The drinks for free are pretty decent you have to pay premium for branded. But I was happy on the vodka or the disarona which were both nice. The wine on tap is a little not the best but again (ITS FREE AND ON TAP).

Entertainment- the shows and entertainment crew are what make this holiday stand apart from others. When I say the evening shows are top quality, I really mean it. This is no tacky Butlins show for kids these are qualified professional dancers. There's a kids disco from 8pm and then the main show starts after. Some of the shows were a little too mature for younger audiences. The recent Halloween vampire show they performed although London stage worthy was not something I wanted my 4 and 6 year old to see. But that's is my single criticism really because the staff REALLY work for their pay. They always smile, make an effort to remember the kids names and have great energy. I really enjoyed the water aerobic dance classes and also the day activities like sand art were nice too.

Facilities- there are 2 play parks both in excellent quality, a football pitch (but you need your own football). There's a baby pool which is shallow and warmer. Then there are the two main pools. Which can be chilly but didn't stop us. They temperature on our trip in October was a consistent 31 and the pool was a welcome cooling dip. Don't know what people are on about no shade. There is plenty of shade around and loungers. Most people queue from around 9am to pick a spot but there was always room and loungers around. There is a small arcade there to waste some money on near the main stage and bar area. There is also a few little shops obviously over priced and the woman in the main shop is awful and tells children off for picking stuff up so we were put off by that.

Other extras- I had a massage it was 30euro for 45mins and was lovely. There is also a small pharmacy WELL OVER PRICED! 30euro for suncream. We found a spa shop down the hill from the hotel just a 10min walk and has everything you could need so go there instead. The beach can be accessed down the hill too. Really easy to find but quite a few steps to get down there. You can walk from the beach along the beach front to San Austin the nearest shopping centre for a look around some nice restaurants and small shops it's another 10-15mins walk from the beach. We then got a taxi back up the hill and it only cost 5 euro so we were happy with that.

On one day we ventured out to Puerto Rico where they have an amazing angry birds park. You can catch a bus (30mins) for 11euro. We booked angry birds park online. It was a lovely day and then you are also in the thick of a lovely twin and beach front to explore.

A few things to mention- inflatables are sometimes allowed the rule on this is not set every day some days we could use them others you can't. There is a wet room for last day checkouts but it's hard to book we managed to get a slot in the end. They don't offer late checkout so bear that in mind. Do bring bottles to refill for the day and lounger towels are a must.

I would definitely go here again we had an amazing time so please ignore the other negative posts on here. A holiday is made but the people and the company you keep. We made some great friends there and couldn't fault the hotel really.

Firstly Beautiful immaculate clean hotel, excellent gardens and swimming pools.
The restaurant served up first class food magnificent selections that changed daily the staff worked tirelessly.
Drinks were available from all areas covering a 24hr period, snacks were also available 24hrs if you ever got hungry.
Plenty of swimming pools for children baring in mind the slides do have height restrictions monitored by lifeguards.
The infinity pool is adults only and you need a RED wristband to access this area it is in a lovely setting with sun loungers and 4 poster sunbeds.
All evening entertainment is outside so pack a light jacket or jumper for the evening chill.
The hotel consists of 5 accommodation blocks with various views.
Our room was of a very high standard BUT the view and location were very poor.
AVOID ROOM 5222 it overlooks the waste disposal compactor & recycling facilities which operates from 6am till well after midnight the noise is horrendous, Block 5 all rooms facing the main road will suffer from this problem to various degrees. We did ask for a room change but we were told hotel was full.
Beach is a 15 minute walk down 152 steps or you can go the long way down the hill past the spar shop.
San Agustin shopping mall is a taxi ride away and costs 3 Euros with plenty of shops and bars.
If you want to hire a car we used Autos Armando in San Agustin he is located on the ground floor of the shopping mall best rates by far.
The Wednesday market is a 7 Euros taxi ride to san fernando but not worth it as you can get the same stuff at the San Agustin shopping mall cheaper.
A truly beautiful island to explore.

We had a lovely and most convenient week of vacation at the Abora Interclub!

We traveled as an extended family with four generations and everyone of us (ages 10 - 81 yrs) had a great stay. All inclusive was a very convenient solution when travelling with a party of nine persons.

My grandma's room was placed in a building with an elevator which we appreciated. Our family of five got a family room and even though we appreciated the gesture, it turned out to be better suited for families with younger children since it was equipped with a nice size room with a very open floor plan. That would have been nice to have when the children were small, but now at ages 10 and 11 we would have preferred a normal double room. Fortunately for us my sister got a such room and our kids moved in with her and everyone was happy :)

The staff (ranging from cleaning crew to reception) was friendly, hardworking and people oriented - thank you all, you made our week!

My only complaint is that every room should have been equipped with a brush set for sweeping the floors. My family loved to swim at the beach in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. (As the very nice hotel pools were rather chilly, even for us Nordic persons, especially without a sauna or a hot room. The quick five minute walk down to the beach was easy due to closeby stairs.) When you choose the beach you bring home a lot of sand. The room cleaning did a good job, but only once a day. And we had a lot of sand on the floors.

Apart from this we had a most wonderful week! I recommend this experience to anyone who would like a real vacation without any hustle.

We stayed at this hotel last week for 7 nights as a family of 4. The hotel is beautifully maintained, grounds immaculate and always being tended to and cleaned by staff. The 2 kids parks were fantastic and great quality outdoor play area equipment. We stayed in a family room which was located in block 2 2nd floor I think overlooking kids splash area. One room with a double bed (2 singles pushed together so very spacious) the room next door had 2 single beds which also changed to a sofa if needed. Both rooms had a tv. We had a large walk in wardobe area with mini fridge kettle safe and plenty storage. We found the room perfect for our needs. Lovely large shower with the choice of either a very powerful rainfall style shower or traditional shower head in bathroom also.
The food throughout the hotel was lovely. Beautiful fresh salad selection, cheeses, meats, tapa style cold dishes, plenty of deserts and icecream. Breakfast was beautiful with all the usual dishes, eggs bacon cereals porridge bread for toasting yoghurts jams and spreads. I also noticed dairy free options also. Beautiful churros pancakes chocolate and various other toppings. The snack bar served food all day and late into evening, typical snack bar style hot dogs burger onion rings garlic bread and also cold sandwiches and cakes. The drinks were more than enough with free flowing self serve juice fresh and fizzy, tea coffee decaf options and beer wine sangria all on self serve. The spirit selection looked to be more than acceptable also. Kids club was free and our kids popped in and out most days. The staff were wonderful and included all and any children who were in the park whether they were attending the club or just in for a play. They work so hard all day and night and the entertainment in the evening was really appreciated. It wasnt "big production style" but what they did was enjoyed by the kids so that's enough for me. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Cant fault the hotel at all. The value for money was excellent. Well done to all the staff at the Abora Interclub, we had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.

We were lucky enough to win a weeks stay all inclusive and we had a lovely time.

We stayed in a family double room which was lovely and spacious, clean and modern.

The pool, restaurants and grounds in general were very well taken care off and clean. Both children’s play areas and the outdoor adult gym were also lovely and great additions.

We were particularly impressed with all the measures in place for Covid and we felt very safe at the resort. All staff wore their masks correctly and requested politely yet firmly that all guests wore them in indoor areas. It was also great that the resort actually enforced the subbed policy!

The food could have been better, it was on the whole average but also probably a bit limited as they took precautions due to Covid by having an assisted buffet. A bit more variation would have been nice, the same selection of desserts for 14 meals is a bit disappointing! All inclusive drinks were limited but the cost of buying premium drinks, smoothies etc. Was very reasonable approx Euro 3.50.

There is a beach, shops and restaurants at walking distance. We tried the Italian down the road for lunch on the last day and it was excellent! We had to checkout at 12pm and would have to pay extra to eat at the hotel buffet (although you can still get hot dogs etc at the pool restaurant).

We also had 4 massages at Tausch Salon on site and they were amazing. I would highly recommend, a perfect treat to add to the holiday.

We did hire a car, parking is limited so you may have to wait a while to find a spot but we were lucky and managed to find a spot just outside the hotel each day.

And finally the best part of the holiday was the entertainment team. They were all great especially Bozhidar who organised the shuffleboard each day. Our daughter enjoyed the disco each evening but the highlight of our stay was the Frozen themed entertainment, don’t miss it! We also enjoyed the flamenco evening. The entire animation team got the balance of including guests and not being overbearing perfectly.

Thank you for a lovely stay.

Booked as a group, 5 rooms in total and were all located on the same floor in block 4 which was a good start.Newly renovated rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean and had balconies with side sea views. The outside areas and pool were spotless and very well maintained and all staff from ground staff to bar staff were extremely friendly and polite. There are 3 or 4 small shops within the hotel grounds, one of which will get your morning paper in for you if you let them know which was a nice touch. The food for all meals was well stocked and fresh and there was ample choice for everyone. The animation team worked tirelessly from 10 till 10 with shuffleboard, bingo, aqua gym and various family games throughout the day to the 3 full on shows they put on during the week, Grease, Frozen and The Wild West (the latter being hilarious!) Even though we had no children with us they still made us feel included. When the evening entertainment finished most people headed to the reception/lounge area where there was a self serve bar after 11.30, the only thing missing was may be a little background music or softer lighting as it did lack a bit of atmosphere but still was not unpleasant. The immediate surrounding area is quiet however a pleasant 20 minute walk takes you to the San Augustin commercial centre, not the most modern looking building, like all centres throughout the canaries however there are bars restaurants and shops to have a wander around. The beach is quiet and clean with sunbeds and parasols to hire and a couple of nice bars and cafes along the front so all you need for a beach day out. We booked direct with the Hotel which was easy and reasonable but I see that most rooms next year seem to be with Jet2 or TUI which I am sure will push the prices up but still worth a visit. So overall had a wonderful stay, didn't want to come home and would go back tomorrow if I could.
Thank-you Abora Interclub Atlantic

Just back from a very enjoyable and relaxing week's all inclusive holiday.

All the staff we met were friendly, efficient and helpful. Everything we saw in and around the hotel was clean and fresh.

Our room was larger than the norm with twin beds and a sofa. It was pristine & freshly decorated. The beds were comfortable and the shower room was well stocked with toiletries. The room was tidied every day and towels changed on request. The housekeeping staff weren't intrusive if we didn't want disturbed but friendly and helpful if we needed anything.

The main restaurant is buffet style but the chefs also cooked one or two mains on the hotplate/grill at each meal. There was a good selection and variety of food at every meal. The staff in the restaurant were attentive, quickly cleared tables and set up again with fresh cutlery etc. The buffet area was kept tidy & clean and topped up with fresh food regularly.

Soft drinks, wine, beer, sangria etc. are on tap at the pool café, reception bar and in the restaurant. We never experienced major queues at any of these drinks stations or bar areas. The bar staff were always efficient, professional and friendly.

Our holiday included use of the adult only infinity pool which was a definite plus. The area was quiet and uncrowded with comfy sunbeds.

The only negative for us was the evening entertainment which was held outside (chilly in January!) and seemed to consist of the animation team dancing and miming to different soundtracks each night. It would be better if there were professional musicians/singers/karaoke/ disco, etc on most nights. Also there was no inside entertainment at night. Again some music/singers in the main bar/reception area would create a better atmosphere..

A party of 4 spent Christmas here with an All Inclusive deal. I will give the overall experience a score of 3 out of 5.

However, the hotel grounds, facilities and buffet, I would give an overall score of 4 out of 5.

This hotel is recently renovated to a very high standard and have very fresh rooms indeed. I loved the beds. The complex is generously spaced out over a large area with fine grounds and 3 beautiful swimming pools with great views of Maspalomas having being built on a cliff in San Agustin. The only main fault being that there was a lack of indoor areas to relax like their other hotels. Winter nights in Gran Canaria can be chilly and all the entertainment is out of doors.

The buffet is good and well presented with a large range of deli produce, cold meats, fish, fruit and salads. The hot food counter however was lacking in diversity of options. Having said this, Christmas Day was outstanding! Well done.

So why the overall 3 out of 5? Well this hotel is kinda let down by the staff, who were sometimes grumpy and worked to rule. You got a sense from them that the guests were a necessary inconvenience. We felt processed and that there was a genuine lack of care. A beautiful place lacking in soul. A real shame to be honest. There were several incidents that serve my point, For example on the first night, my room being at the corner edge of one of the blocks, received the full force of the howling, prevailing westerly wind. It was genuinely cold in my room. I visited the reception to ask whether there were any heaters and received the smug sarcastic reply "No, It never gets cold in Gran Canaria". Another time, in my swimwear, I asked reception for a pool towel. Rather than give it to me there and then from over the counter as they did for new guests on arrival, they said I had to return to my room across the large complex and they would send it there. I did, but it never arrived. Bizarre. I had a death stare from a comi chef in the buffet hall when I asked for eggs (there was a quewe for eggs of about 15 people). Another little complaint. One of the guests in our party had a birthday and was given a bottle of wine in his room. I had a landmark birthday and wasn't given one!

I know these are little things, but it took the shine off the experience. The company has obviously gone to great expense renovating the hotel. In order to take it to a higher score they need to instill in their staff a sense of friendliness and servitude. As a result of the lack of care I dont think we will return on our next trip to Gran Canaria or in good conscience, at this moment in time, refer or reccomend the hotel to others.

This is a four star hotel with some amazing views.
My wife and I stayed here for a week in January 2020 and the weather was really warm.
The hotel is situated up a long hill that dead ends at the hotel.
There are steps down to the beach which are steep and take five mins down and 15 up not recomended if your elderly or unfit. You can walk down the hill to the beach which takes 20 mins, the local bus stops are down the hill in the town and there is a very good bus service.
The hotel is more like a resort fantastic gardens and plenty of sun loungers and 3 pools none of which were heated. The infinity pool was supposed to be heated but we found it to cold and never swam all week.
Food is excellent and plenty of selection and there are also snack bars offering food 24 hours a day.
We were all inclusive and found the beer very flat on some days and the red wine was not of very good quailty.
Overall this is a great place to stay if you just want to lounge around the hotel all day but it is really out of the way of other bars and restaurants.
The entertainment is all outside and it is really very poor and it also got very chilly at night.
TV reception is very poor only BBC world news and all the other channels kept breaking up so unwatchable.
WiFi in the room is poor not able to stream anything from the internet and having to log on constantley because of loss of signal.
We would stay here again maybe with our grand children as there is so much space and things for them to do.
