Park Hotel Cala di Lepre, Palau. To roam freely over wide open spaces. The Hotel enjoys a panoramic, strategic position, facing the Costa Smeralda and bordering the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park. Located in beautiful Capo D'Orso locality, the resort is 3 km from Palau and 39 km north of Olbia, on a hillside sloping down to the sea, immersed in Mediterranean scrub teeming with small wildlife, including tortoises, red grouse, turtledoves and hares, hence the name of the resort. An ideal destination for nature lovers, who enjoy both horseback excursions and nature walks. The fascinating landscape is marked by coves and headlands, the shades of blue and green of the sea and of the Gallura hills, and by the wind-sculpted rocks, such as the unique, world famous "Roccia dell'Orso" just a few hundred metres from the hotel.

If resorts (cocooned from the world) are your thing, then this is a great place to be. Cala Di Lepre has been cleverly designed in sympathetic materials and views have been protected. We were in room 433, close to the main reception/dining room, and yet it was secluded and we

I am writing based on my experience: We loved this place. I went for a week on half board, with my husband and 13 months old son. The location is beautiful, the resort is great, it has 2 stunning pools with amazing views and a baby pool too (also a spa and kids club). The

Scenic floral park with villas. Get a sea view and don't worry if it's a way from the centre. If you are reasonably fit the rolling terrain offers the opportunity to walk off the ample and excellent food. Or you can hop on a buggy which run regularly round the park.

What is the weather like in early June? Is it windy? Thanks!
Was not windy at all in late July. I think it is quite sheltered as along the eastern coast. If you were staying in one of the north coast resorts you would get much more wind (there are reviews of other hotels on Trip Advisor that refer to windy beaches!). This sheltered position is one of the reasons I picked this hotel.

"Check the hotel map before selecting you room to see if you want to be near the beach or restaurant or a nice quiet spot for instance."
"Make sure you are close to town and not captive to the hotel"
"Go for a sea view room - it's a little more but worth it."
"Set in 20 hectares, you may want to look at the layout of the rooms and select one near the main building."
"We were in room 405, this wasn't too far from the reception, bar and restaurant, but quite a way from the pool. We preferred this."
