We had business in Herbrechtingen and our hotel choice fell on the Sekra city hotel - not too far away and it looked modern and appealing.

SEKRA Stadthotel is a new, modern hotel around two miles to the south of Heidenheim station.
Buses appeared to head in the direction of the hotel, but I opted to walk.
I checked in the old fashioned way rather than the automated version .
My room on the first floor was adequate with decent bathroom with shower but no tub.
A bottle of water was supplied but neither tea nor coffee was provided in my room, although there was a safe.
Breakfast was really good with some different choices such as fried egg (albeit cold) on a bagel with avocado.
Some nice cakes and pastries plus a good range of fruit and juices.
There was a bar but it was never manned during my stay. You could buy drinks (alcoholic and non) and snacks from a vending machine.
However, the beer needed to be opened with a bottle opener which did not appear to be present in the vicinity nor in the guest rooms.
I paid €157 for a one night stay. Quite expensive but I presume this was due to the football match at the Voith-Arena.
